Chapter Nineteen
As Elliot was walking to the door the knocking continued. "I'm coming, I'm coming." he said. He finally made it to the and opened it. On the other side of the door stood a hungover Emma.
"Oh god," Emma said, seeing Elliot had opened the door shirtless. She saw Olivia walk by wearing Elliot's shirt. "Who is it?" she heard Olivia walking through the living room. Elliot opened the door all the way revealing Emma had been drinking last night. "Oh god," Emma said, rolling her eyes.
Emma walked into the apartment and sat on the couch. Elliot put his undershirt back on and Olivia got dressed. "Here," Liv said, handing Emma some sort of drink. Elliot sat down on the coffee table, sitting across from Emma who was on the couch, Liv sat beside Emma.
"Before you guys say anything, I know I really screwed up." Emma said.
"So why don't you tell us what happened? Liv asked.
"Well after you said I could go to a friend's house last night, I went over to Claire's. Turned out she wanted to go to this party her boyfriend's friend was throwing."
"And you thought it was a grand idea to tag along?" Elliot asked.
"Well I wasn't originally planning on drinking. But, they already had a DD so I decided why not."
"Well the only thing we care about is that you're safe." Liv said.
"You're not gonna punish me? Or arrest the people who threw the party?"
"We could, but it wouldn't be worth it." Elliot explained. "Also, Kathleen did much worse when she was your age." Elliot stood up and headed towards the bedroom, "Just don't let me catch you drunk driving." He slammed the bedroom door knowing that it would hurt Emma's head.
"So it looked like you two had an eventful night." Emma said. "You know what? Don't answer that. I don't want to know." Liv laughed.
"Well lucky for you, I wasn't gonna tell you." Liv said, walking over to the kitchen. "Here, you need to eat." She said, handing her a breakfast sandwich.
"Thanks," Emma said, eating the sandwich.
The next day Emma met with Kathleen for breakfast. Emma didn't know who else to tell about what she saw the other morning.
"Are you sure that's what you saw?" Kathleen asked, still in shock from the news.
"I know what I saw." Emma said.
"Wait, explain it to me again."
"Ok, I got off the elevator, knocked on the door because I didn't have my key. Heard Elliot's voice through the door, he opened it, shirtless, then came Olivia walking in wearing his shirt."
"Oh. My. God." Kathleen said, still wrapping her mind around the fact her father and Olivia slept together.
"Yeah, I didn't know who else to tell."
"Well I'm glad you told me." she said happily. "You think they're gonna start dating?"
"I don't know. They haven't talked about it since." Emma started looking around the restaurant. "But, I was able to get this." she said, showing her a bug.
"Where'd you get that?"
"I kind of told Fin, Olivia needed it. But I thought we could hide it in Liv's room, see what happens."
"I love that."
"Come over later?"
"Of course."
Emma went back home and snuck into Olivia's room while she was in the shower. She put the bug behind her TV hoping no one would find it. Later around 6:30 Kathleen came over to spy on her father and Liv. The girls spent the night eating pizza in Emma's room, which was also Noah's room, but Emma convinced Noah to watch a movie in the living room.
"Sh…" Emma said, as she heard the front door open.
Olivia and Elliot came into the house together. It was honestly just a coincidence that Elliot had come over, the girls really didn't know if he would come or not,
"Hey Noah," Liv said.
"Hi mom,"
"Where's Emma?"
"In her room with Kathleen."
"I didn't know Kathleen was coming over." Liv told Elliot.
"Neither did I." Elliot added.
Elliot and Olivia walked back to Liv's room. "So are we gonna talk about the other night?" Elliot asked.
"What is there to talk about?" Liv asked, walking into the bathroom to change her clothes. "I mean it happened. I wanted it to happen, but I don't know what else-"
"Liv, shut up." Elliot said, finding the bug.
"Did you just tell me to shut up?" Liv asked, walking out of the bathroom.
"This," Elliot said, holding up the bug.
"But lucky for you I got these," Liv said, pulling out two water guns from her nightstand drawer.
Olivia and Elliot both walked over to Emma's bedroom door. They heard some talking on the other side, and feedback from the bug was starting to pick up as they got closer. Elliot opened the door.
"You know I thought you two were old enough to know better not to spy on people." Elliot said jokingly, while entering the room.
"Damn, how'd you find it?" Emma said.
"We're cops. We're not stupid." Elliot said.
"How'd you get it?" Liv asked.
"Fin." Emma said.
"Well unfortunately since you girls stole NYPD property we're gonna have to arrest you." Elliot added jokingly. Both Kathleen and Emma both looked at each other and made a run for it.
"We got a runner!" Liv said. Elliot and Olivia squirted their water guns chasing them around the apartment.
"Now you're cornered!" Liv said, as they cornered both girls in the kitchen.
"We surrender." Kathleen said
