Chapter Twenty

A few months went by and Elliot and Olivia never really talked about the night of the wedding. The squad caught a case near Hudson University. A dump job, the guy raped and murdered her, then dumped her body near the trash shoot.

"How long has she been dead?" Olivia asked.

"No longer than an hour or so." The ME mentioned.

"Cause of death?"

"Looks like blood forced trauma to the head, but look." The ME said, holding up her arm pointing at needle marks. "Won't be too sure until I examine her." Olivia quickly walked over towards the steps and threw up. She hadn't thrown up because of a case since one of her first cases with Elliot.

Amanada and Olivia went driving to find the witnesses who might've seen what happened. They talked to about 5 or 10 different people, most of them said the girl wanted it or they were too drunk to remember. As Amanda and Olivia walked back towards the car while Liv ran to a garbage can and threw up again.

"Are you ok?" Amanda asked.

"Yeah, I think I just ate some bad sushi or something." Liv said, getting back into the car.

They arrived back at the precinct when Olivia made her way back to her office. Amanada walked over to Fin.

"Hey, is Captain ok?" Amanada asked him.

"I mean she seems ok. Why would I know?" he replied.

"I don't know, you're close with her. I mean I'm worried, she keeps throwing up."

"She probably just had some bad food or something." Fin said, walking away from the coffee counter. He paused and turned around, "Or she and Stabler finally did it." he said that as a joke not thinking that it was actually a possibility.

Olivia went home not feeling well still. She made herself a cup of tea and sat on the couch for a few minutes before Emma and Noah would be coming home. Suddenly there was a knock on her door. Olivia walked over to the door and looked through the peephole.

"Amanda," she said, opening the door.

"Hey Liv, can I come in?" Amanda said.

"Sure," Liv said confused. Amanda entered the apartment. "Can I get you anything?" Liv asked.

"No, I'm good." Amanda said, sitting on the living room chair. "Liv, are you ok?"

"Amanda, I'm fine. Like I said, just something I ate."

"Ok the next thing I'm going to say, I say with all the possible love. But do you still get your period?"

"Amanda." Liv snapped.

"Just answer the question."

"I mean it's been spotty for a few years, but yea, I get it every so often."

"Liv, when's the last time you got it?"

"Amanda, what is this about?"

"Just answer the question."

"A week before Fin's wedding."

"And?"

"And what? If you're indicating what I think you're thinking, you're crazy." Liv said.

"Liv, I had two kids myself. I think I know what I'm talking about."

"Amanda, it can't-" Liv was pacing back and forth now, and the sudden stop in her sentence was her doing the math. "Ok, maybe it can be, but I thought."

"Liv, humor me. Take this." she said, handing Liv a pregnancy test.

Liv took it and went to the bathroom. She took the test and waited 3 minutes as told to do so on the box. It was one of the longest 3 minutes of her life. After the timer went off the two girls didn't know what to do. Amanda took the stick and picked it up.

"Liv," Amanda said, handing her the stick. Olivia took it and there it was, positive.

Olivia always wanted a child of her own, but after adopting Noah and now Emma she thought she was done becoming a mother. She had a pregnancy scare when she was with Brian but it came back negative, but that was years ago. She got pregnant when in college, which she decided to abort the fetus. Olivia walked to the bathroom and threw the test away.

"Liv, what are you going to do? Who's the father?"

"I don't know."

"You don't know what you're going to do? Or you don't know who the father is?"

"Oh, I know who the father is." Olivia said stressed.

"It's Stabler isn't it? Doesn't that man have enough children?" Amanda intended that last statement to be a joke.

"Look, it only happened once, and I swear we used protection."

"Hey, both times I got pregnant I thought the same thing."

Amanda bought Chinese takeout for the both of them. Emma came through the door a little surprised to see Amanada.

"Oh, hey Amanda." Emma said, walking through the doors.

"Hey Emma," Amanda said. "Want some Chinese food?"

"Sure." Emma sat down beside Amanda. "Don't take this in a rude way, but why are you here?"

"Tough case today." Amanda said, assuming that Olivia didn't want anyone else to know

Noah came home not too long after Emma. Noah joined the girls eating Chinese food. Amanda went home after Noah got into bed. He insisted Amanda tucked him in and read him his story.

The next morning Elliot came over with bagels and coffee. Emma was doing homework at the breakfast counter and Noah later went over to his friend's house. Elliot went into the bathroom to take a leak. As he was finishing up he noticed a pink stick in the trash. He bent over and picked it up. He walked back into the kitchen where Emma was.

"Hey," He said, trying to get Emma's attention. No answer, she was invested in her homework. "Yo," he said, again this time pulling her notebook away from her.

"What?!" Emm said, annoyed.

"What is this?" he said, throwing the pregnancy test in front of her.

"Ewe," she said, "And that's a pregnancy test."

"And you thought you didn't need to tell me because?"

"You think this is mine?" Emma asked, confused. Elliot gave Emma a fatherly look.

"You really think it's mine?" Elliot continued giving her that same look. "I swear it's not mine."

"If it's not yours then whose?"

"I'm not the only woman you know. You're a detective, figure it out." she paused. "Can I have my notebook back?" she asked.

"Oh," he said, handing her her notebook. He started walking away and turned around. "You'd tell me if you were sleeping around?"

"No," Emma shot at him.

"That's what I thought. Just checking." Elliot said, walking away.

Olivia walked in and started making herself some coffee. "What did he want?" she asked.

"He asked if I was pregnant." Emma said, continuing her homework.

Liv paused from what she was doing, "Why would he say that?" she said, and continued pouring water into her mug.

"I don't know, I guess he found a pregnancy test in the trash."

"Oh. What did you say to him?" She asked, steeping her tea.

"I told him it wasn't mine. Then he asked me if I would ever tell him if I was sleeping with someone. I said 'no', because that's just weird. Man, needs some help."

"Hm… interesting." Liv said, taking a sip of tea.

"OMG, wait." Emma said, slamming her pen on her notebook. "Are you?"

"Sh!" Liv said, interrupting her.

"Pregnant?!" Emma whispered.

"Sh, keep it down. And yes, it was mine."

"Wait, wait, wait. When? How? Why? Nevermind don't answer that." Emma looked around to make sure no one was listening. "What are you going to do? Are you gonna tell him?"

"I don't know, and I mean I think he deserves to know. Doesn't he?"

"I mean man already has 6 kids if you include me."

"I think I'll tell him. But first I want to see the doctor first."

That next week Liv had her first OBGYN appointment. Amanda had offered to go with her, they told her going to talk to witnesses for a case they were working on.

"Thanks for coming with me." Liv said.

"Of course, that's what friends are for." Amanda replied. There was a knock on the door.

"Hi, I'm Nurse Nancy. You must be Olivia, congratulations, and you must be the mom."

"Oh, no, we're not together." Amanda said, correcting her.

"My bad." she said, sitting on the chair. "Alright, Ms. Benson, I'm going to put this jell on your stomach, it might be cold to the touch, but it shouldn't be too cold. Then I'll use this and we can see what's going on in there." Nurse Nancy started doing what she said she would do. "Ok, it looks like you're about 12 weeks along." she paused for a moment. "Do twins run in your family?"

"Um, I think on the father's side." Liv replied, not really knowing if it was Kathy or Elliot who carried that gene.

"Well it looks like you're having twins! Would you like to know the gender?"

"Um, maybe next time." Liv said.

"Alright, well you're all done. I'll go and let the doctor know."

"Damn Liv." Amanda said. "Stabler's got game."

"Shut Up, Amanda."

"Liv, you have to tell him."

"I know, I'll do it tonight."
