"Please, stop! I already said I was sorry, what more do you want me to do?!" Her voice exploded out, but it would not reach beyond her as it was drowned out by the never-ending wall of noise. There was nowhere for it to go. She could not move, she could not breathe, she could only see and hear the purposeless blur of noise as everything around her crumbled. She received no answer, unaware the discordance would have prevented any from reaching her anyway. Why could she feel her very being crumble and shatter like a fallen piece of china? Had she not proved her willingness to give everything for them? Her life, her friends, what little she could truly call hers was cut away and discarded like a disease ridden tumor. All for them. Always for them.
She tried to open her eyes against the static, but the pain and discomfort was so great that she quickly clenched them. There was no escape, there was no control, there was simply nothing. All she could do was whimper with her hands over her ears as she felt the sounds and the colors envelop her yet again. She felt her lips part in a final sob just as her heart began to tear into two and a shout formed where her breath should have been.
Running down the hallway were four teenagers trying to outrun what lies behind them. Not too far behind them was a mob of six chasing them up the steps of a curious building.
"Why are we running upstairs?" Natsuki asked as she ran with the three others.
"Did you see an escape down there?" Yuri said. "We need to keep running."
"There's no way out," Sayori said. She pushed on a door that didn't open. "Crap."
"Yes there is," Monika said, "We just have to get to the roof."
"They're getting closer," Natauki said.
As the four of them ran up to the seventh floor of the eight story building, a taller teen was waiting for them at the top. She had long blonde hair. Two more joined her side by side, blocking the stairway. She pushed Monika back and she fell down a flight of stairs. The rest of the mob caught Monika and shoved her back up the stairs to the others.
The four youths were captured with their hands behind their backs and escorted to a room on the top floor where they were thrown into a sort of sound booth. One of the mob members standing at the top, they quickly locked the door.
Natsuki banged on the glass. "Let us out of here!"
Yuri looked around at the room terrified. "Please don't do this," she asked.
"You brought this on yourself," one of the mob members said. The same one that pushed Monika down. She was tall and had long light blonde hair: Libitina.
"You went too far!" Said another.
"You tried to kill us all." Another one said.
"We didn't know," Sayori said.
"Let us out or you'll regret it!" Natsuki shouted.
"No," said Libitina firmly.
"Libby!" Monika warned.
"You can't scare us. We have you trapped. You're not getting out of there." Lib said.
Sayori tried to unlock the door.
"What about food and water?" Yuri asked.
"Oh, you won't need that." Lib said. "You see after everything you put us through, I can't think of a more fitting punishment than sending you to your worst nightmares." She walked over to a lever and placed her hand on it.
Yuri shook her head as her eyes watered. Sayori looked guilty. Natsuki paced the room. Monika's face tightened.
"I don't see this as an act of evil." Lib said. "This is an act of mercy." She adjusted her grip on the lever. "Death is too good for you. And this way you get a fate where you get to live, but in misery."
"Time will pass by slowly, so there's going to be multiple nightmares." One man said. He chuckled.
Lib gripped the lever. In the corner of her eye, Monika could see the game code changing, prompts being activated. " Lib don't do this" Monika began " We can save you and Elyssa"
" Fuck you". Lib pulled the lever and the four youths in the booth collapsed to the floor.
