Kowalski's Truth Serum
"So they're out?" Blowhole glanced down at the lobster beside him as they hid behind a taxi cab by the zoo entrance.
"Yeah, Doc, overheard that they're going to an art museum for something. They'll be gone for a few hours."
"Good, good." The dolphin smirked as he then rolled into the zoo, towards the penguin's garage entrance. At the door, he pressed the hidden button to reveal a panel of buttons. He considered it briefly before hitting the green, purple, red, and blue buttons. The panel then sunk into the ground and the wall slid open.
"You knew the password?"
"No, Red One, I just know Kowalski." He chuckled before rolling inside. "I merely tapped the colors in the order he liked them."
"Oh." The lobster nodded and followed him inside and the door slid shut behind them.
Blowhole rolled carefully along the hall, ducking his head down to avoid scraping the ceiling. Not much had changed since the last time he fooled around their HQ, good. Good. That would make this all the simpler.
He hung a left and opened the door to Kowalski's lab. "Bingo." He rolled inside, looking around.
Red One stays by the entrance to the lab as a look out as the dolphin investigates the lab.
"Now if I was Kowalski and I had a bottle of truth serum, where would I put it?" He murmured to himself looking around. Of course, it would be easier to find if certain peng-u-ins could keep their lab straightened up without half-finished inventions and blueprints and parts laying everywhere. There was no way he could survive having his own lab under such conditions; he'd go insane.
However he wasn't here to critique Kowalski's cleaning skills, or lack thereof. He needed to stay focused as they only had limited time until the penguins would be back after all.
Blowhole rolled over to a set of shelves and looked at the bottles of condiments. "Food in the lab, seriously? Has he ever heard of lab safety?" He rolled his eyes and looked to a lower shelf. "...Of course, it would also be useful if he could spell-check his labels." He then sighed.
"Doc, they're on their way back!"
The dolphin glanced back at the door before looking at the shelf again and biting his lip. "Well, this one looks like it could be truth serum." He grabbed a bottle and rolled over to Red One. "Come on, let's go."
The two then left the penguins' HQ and returned to his lair, currently set up at Coney Island. Rolling to his own lab, he opened the bottle and took out an eyedropper. Carefully he fills the dropper with the red fluid inside.
"Red One!" He called.
The lobster skittered up. "Yeah, Doc?"
"Give this a try." He dropped it into the lobster's mouth and grinned. "Now tell me a lie."
"That wasn't spicy at all, doc."
Blowhole blinked. "Strange choice of...What?"
"You said to tell you a lie, Doc. Actually, that was really spicy, like some sort of hot sauce."
"WHAT?" The dolphin looked into the bottle and dipped a sample out for himself with his flipper tip and tried it. "CRAB CAKES. WHY DID HE PUT HOT SAUCE IN A-WHY DOES HE HAVE HOT SAUCE IN HIS LAB AT ALL?!" He huffed and slid the bottle across his desk, shaking his head. "That doesn't even look like something he'd keep hot sauce in. Not when he already has a full hot sauce bottle on his shelf already." He ran a flipper down his face. "Well, that was a waste of time."
"Not bad hot sauce though."
Blowhole sighed and shook his head. "No...Not bad hot sauce at all."
