"Penetrating deep into the frozen waste of the great arctic plains, an archaeological expedition searching for prehistoric fossils makes an amazing discovery," said the narrator as an aerial shot of Siberia is seen while an arrow, followed by dotted lines, snakes across the land to the northeast. Then the scene fades to the frozen landscape of Siberia as it pans throughout the landscape.
"A huge monster... Its lifelike appearance when it had roamed earth millions of years ago in the Mesozoic age is found frozen in the ice in a state of perfect preservation," the narrator continued and then the scene stops at a mine and then it fades to the inside of the mine.
"Constantly handicapped by the hazardous sub-zero elements, the scientists and their band of tireless workers succeed in removing the mammoth creature from the frozen pits."
The scene fades to an icebreaker ship with a refrigeration plant built on it bulldozing through the icy surface of the sea.
"The ice-encased monster is loaded into a hold of a huge freighter, equipped with a special refrigeration plant and brought to this country."
The scene fades to a city museum in America.
"Here, in a specially constructed wing of the Museum of Natural Science, this awe-inspiring creature is displayed to the public for the first time."
Inside the museum, the people are looking up at the enormous, frozen exhibit with the nameplate at the base of it that reads, "TYRANNOSAURUS - HABITAT: SIBERIA". The scene pans up at the exhibit, which is a giant, green, bipedal dinosaur-like creature with an elongated neck and prickles going from the top back of the head down to the spine and tail, frozen in ice with an enormous refrigeration device keeping it cool.
At the TV station, in O.J. Skweez's office, Skweez is sitting at his desk answering the phone.
"And you mean to say, that if the ice were permitted to thaw there's a possibility that the monster might still be alive?" Skweez asked to someone on the other line with disbelief.
"Thank YOU, professor."
Skweez hangs up the phone and he presses the switch on the intercom system on his desk.
"Yes, Mr. Skweez," came Sweet Polly's voice via intercom.
"Sweet Polly, there's a new angle on that frozen monster story. Get over to the museum and see what story. They got him in a special refrigerator," he ordered her.
"Okay, Mr. Skweez," she said.
Outside of Sweet Polly Purebred's office, a silhouette of Sweet Polly putting on her hat is seen through the glass window of the door. She exits her office, carrying a pocketbook, and she closes the door. Shoeshine Boy — Underdog in disguise — appears next to her.
"Oh. Hello, Shoeshine," Sweet Polly said when she had noticed him.
"Hello, Sweet Polly. Where are you heading to?" he asked her.
"I'm heading off to the Museum of Natural Science to get a story about a giant, frozen, prehistoric monster," she told him.
"Interesting. Do you want me to go over there with you?" he asked.
"No thanks," Sweet Polly said. "You'll probably faint if you saw the monster. You scare so easily."
Sweet Polly leaves.
"Maybe she's right. But Underdog hasn't fainted yet," Shoeshine said.
Inside the control room of the museum, an engineer, carrying an oil can, is explaining to Sweet Polly about the machinery that is used to keep the frozen saurian from melting.
"...Then produces the necessary refrigeration," he explained to her. "The control board is downstairs. I'll show it to you," he said as he placed the oil can on a long plank that's attached on top of the railing next to the generator.
The vibration from the generator causes the oil can to rattle. The engineer and Sweet Polly are walking down the stairs.
"The entire plant is operated from the board-" he told Sweet Polly and the oil can rattles over towards the edge of the plank.
"This thermometer must be watched constantly," the engineer explained to Sweet Polly as he showed her the thermostat attached to a wall.
"As any rise in temperature might prove dangerous."
The oil can falls into the generator causing a loud cluttering noise followed by electrical effects which got Sweet Polly's and the engineer's attention and the engineer hurries back upstairs.
"Cut those switches!" a worker shouted to the other workers and they did just that. The workers began repairing the generator, trying to get it operational again.
"Boy, what a story!" Sweet Polly said with stimulation.
The thermometer began to rise while the workers are fixing the machine. The thermometer continues rising. As Sweet Polly is taking notes on a notepad, a waterdrop drips on her notepad and she looks up and saw that it was coming from a pair of frozen, thick, paralleled cables that are connected to the refrigeration device, on the verge of melting. The thermometer reaches up to the 'DANGER' level and the alarm bell goes off which got the workers' attention and they continue on fixing the machine in a haste. The ice falls from the cables in pieces. The ice around the monster began to melt.
"Outside, everybody! Step lively, please! Use the nearest exit!" a security told the people as he evacuates them out the museum.
Sweet Polly exits the control room but then she saw the security guard coming and she hid back inside the control room.
"Please, folks, keep moving!" the security guard demanded. "We have to clear this room at once!"
"That's what he thinks," Sweet Polly scorned at the security guard as she exits the control room.
She ran over to the side of a telephone booth and she rests her back against it, keeping herself from being seen by the security guard.
The ice began fall off from the monster in pieces. Sweet Polly peeked from her hiding spot but then she ducked back as the security guard ran into the telephone booth.
"Police Headquarters," the security guard said as he answered the phone.
The monster's thawed-out hand/claw began to move.
Sweet Polly eavesdrops on the security guard's phone call.
"Hello, chief? Send the riots squad; we're in trouble!" the security guard ordered.
The monster's thawed-out mouth moved slightly.
After the security guard has gone, Sweet Polly picks up the phone inside the telephone booth and she dials it. The monster's eyes slowly began to open. Once the monster is resurrected, it frees its legs from the remaining ice at the base and then it utters a roar as it demolishes the refrigerating device that was surrounding it with its head.
"Hello? TV Station? Get me the city desk. Hurry!" Sweet Polly demanded as she answered the phone. She sees the monster moving as it casts its shadow over her and she gasped.
The monster smashes through the roof of the museum with its head and then it smashes its way out the museum. The monster is being fired at with bullets from a police squad who are inside their cars firing at the monster with their machine guns which seems to have no effect on the monster. The monster approaches the squad and the squad fled from their cars just as the monster crushes the cars with its foot. The monster trudges around a street corner and it comes across an elevated railway bridge as the train passes by. The monster smashes down the bridge with its foot and then it goes through a narrow space in between two buildings.
"Look out! It's alive!" a male pedestrian cried out as he pointed up at the monster.
A woman, who is standing on the corner of the street carrying flat boxes sees the monster and she screamed with terror as she dropped the boxes on the ground. A car screeches to a halt on the intersection of the street and then another car crashes into the side of it.
"No I'm not crazy! Rush some men down here!" a police officer said to someone on the phone that's attached to a pole.
"Attention all cars: proceed to Fifth and Main at once," a police chief in a police station ordered via intercom microphone.
At the TV station, in Skweez's office, an arduino telegraph machine sends out a message that says, "ARCTIC MONSTER RUNS AMUCK IN THE CITY...". Skweez reads the message.
"Mr. Skweez! Sweet Polly is in the museum!" Shoeshine told Skweez alarmingly as he ran up to him.
"I hope she's all right," he said.
"I'll go over to the museum and see if she's OK," Shoeshine said.
"Be careful out there," Skweez told him.
"Right."
Shoeshine ran off and Skweez picked up the phone.
"This looks like a job for Underdog," Shoeshine said as he ran out of the TV station and into a telephone booth. The telephone booth explodes, revealing Shoeshine's true identity, Underdog, and he took off into the air.
"There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!" Underdog cried out.
Underdog leaps from building to building until he landed down next to the demolished museum. He moved some huge chunks of the museum out of the way and he enters the museum through one of the doors as the other door next to it — which looks beat-up — opens, revealing the people that were trapped inside. Inside the crumbled museum, Underdog leaps onto a large pile of debris.
"Sweet Polly!" he called out.
"Underdog," came Sweet Polly's voice from the pile.
Underdog moves a girder from the pile and he grabs Sweet Polly out of the pile, carrying her in his arms bridal style and he flies her out the museum. He landed down on the sidewalk outside the museum and he puts Sweet Polly down on her feet.
"You better get back to your office where you'll be safe. I've got some work to do, with no time to waste," Underdog told Sweet Polly.
"Yes, sir," she said as Underdog took off.
"And miss the best story in years? Swell chance," Sweet Polly said after Underdog told her to go back to her office.
Elsewhere, the monster wades through a river which is behind a dam. Underdog landed onto a cliff and he sees the monster. The monster smashes it's way through the dam causing the water to flow out, flooding a village below. Underdog flew over to a hill that's next to the dam and he used his strength to dislodge a huge chunk of clay soil off the edge of the hill and it falls right in between the opening of the dam, stopping the flow. The monster trudges through another river, which is much larger than the last one, as the firefighters on a fireboat shoot their water hoses at it, trying to fend it off but to no avail. The monster trudges beside the fireboat causing it to tip over on the side. The monster smashes its way through a suspension bridge causing the vehicles to come to a stop. Underdog flew towards the bridge and he swoops down underneath the falling deck of the bridge and he lifts it back up in its place and the vehicles continued on moving. The monster trudges its way to a baseball stadium. A taxi cab pulled over in front of the stadium and Sweet Polly stepped out of the cab. She runs inside the stadium and she ran up a nearby stairway. Underdog ties up the cables of the bridge back into its place and then he takes the disconnected thicker bridge cable and he flies up onto the top of the tower of the bridge with it. At the stadium, the people who are watching the game doesn't seem to notice the monster approaching from outside the stadium. Underdog swings the cable around and he throws it over at the monster and the cable wrapped around the monster from the legs up to its mid section causing him to fall down near the stadium. Sweet Polly ran out on the ledge outside the stadium with a camera, intending to take a photo of the monster. Sweet Polly snaps a photo of the monster up close and then the monster scoops her up with its mouth. As Underdog is tying up the monster's arms with the ends of the cable, he heard Sweet Polly scream.
"Sweet Polly!" he cried out and he flew right into the monster's mouth and he pries it open. He quickly grabbed Sweet Polly out of the monster's mouth and he puts her back on the outer ledge of the stadium.
"Now this time, stay put," Underdog told Sweet Polly.
"Yes, Milord... and thanks," she said.
The monster draws its head towards Underdog and Sweet Polly with its mouth open. Sweet Polly gasped and Underdog flew right towards it and he tackles the monster's head down onto the ground and then he flew up to a nearby lamppost and he bends it over the monster's neck, entrapping it.
The scene fades to a close-up shot of a newspaper with the headline titled, "UNDERDOG SUBDUES ARCTIC MONSTER - SAVES CITY FROM DESTRUCTION by POLLY PUREBRED". The picture on the newspaper shows the monster bound in chains inside a giant, oval-shaped crater with a metal fence surrounding it at a zoo. A small text below the picture reads, "MONSTER DISPLAYED TO PUBLIC IN PARK ZOO!". At the TV station in Sweet Polly's office, Shoeshine is standing next to Sweet Polly's desk studying the paper while Sweet Polly is sitting at her desk applying makeup powder on her face while looking at herself with a compact mirror.
"You showed plenty of courage getting that monster story, Sweet Polly," Shoeshine said her.
"Thanks, but where were you?" she asked him.
"Me? Oh...I must have fainted," he jokily said and then he looks at the fourth wall with a smile.
