Return of the King of the Tree of Life Chapter 1

Hello everyone, it's great to finally be back with another story and to have it be the next story in my Roar of Manipulation universe. The have a bunch of other stories planned for my ROM universe, I don't know exactly how many, but a good handful of them. Now with this story, I'm doing it a bit different than all my other chapter stories I've done, I only just recently finished writing chapter one and have not even a single sentence of next chapter written down, so it'll most likely take longer than a week to have it out, so just keep your eyes open and check my page every once in a while you. Alright, now enjoy the first chapter of the story.

"AHHH! HYENA ATTACK! RUN!" a young lion cub shouted to his brother and two friends.

The four young animals than took off running from the hyenas that were chasing them. They jumped over logs and dodged boulders, hoping to lose the hyenas that were chasing them. The hyenas however were keeping up with them and were almost upon them, they knew it by the sound of their cackling growing closer.

"Here they come!" the second lion cub said as he looked back.

The other three looked back to see the two hyenas chasing them emerge from the tall grass. The four quickened their pace to try and get away, but one of the lion cubs was lagging behind due to his right hind leg, which was injured. One of the hyena's noticed this and pointed it out to his companion.

"The lighter colored lion cub's leg is injured; go for him." the first hyena instructed his companion.

The second hyena nodded and he and his companion focused on the lion cub with the injured leg. When they got close enough, the two hyenas lunged for the cub and caught him. One of the other three noticed this.

"They got Umoja!" they shouted.

The other two stopped and looked back at the two hyenas holding the lion cub, named Umoja down, laughing in victory.

"And that means it's lunch time." one of the hyenas said eagerly.

The hyena than bit down onto Umoja's rump, a little too hard.

"OW!" Umoja shouted. "Hay, a little too real there!"

"Oh, sorry." the red nosed hyena who had bitten Gozi apologized.

The red nosed hyena and his companion and mate, let go of Umoja, allowing the cub to sit up with his right hind leg stretched out. Meanwhile, the other young animals, Umoja's younger brother Gozi and their two friends, a cheetah named Mbio and a jackal named Kweli, walked towards them.

"You okay there Umoja?" Gozi asked.

"Yeah, Cheezi didn't bite that hard." Umoja replied, rubbing where Cheezi bit him. "Ugh, still hurt though."

When Umoja was done rubbing his rump, he had Gozi help him back onto his paws, trying not to work his injured leg too much.

"We should go let Asante and Busara know that I got caught." Umoja suggested.

"Yeah, they're just over the ridge there." Mbio said.

Umoja and Gozi led their friends and Cheezi and Chungu over and down the other side of the ridge where their friends were. On a rock surrounded by a few trees sat a honey badger with purplish blue fur and a striped hyena. Umoja and Gozi and their friends had been playing bad hyena attack. The game was that one or more participants were to run from someone pretending to be the hyena(s) and not get caught until they were cornered, at which point someone playing the role of the Lion Guard would come in and save them. Gozi almost always played the role of a Lion Guard member since he was the future leader of the Lion Guard, though on account of his friends and brother's insistence.

Gozi had even recently just gained the Roar of the Elders that all leaders of the Lion Guard had, so his friends insisted he should play the Lion Guard member role more than ever, but he insisted he be in the running from hyena's role with Umoja, Mbio, and Kweli since he always played a Lion Guard member and a roar wasn't going to change that. So, with Gozi being in the running from hyenas role, Asante took his place with Busara as a Lion Guard member; Asante had even found some red leaves a wore them around her neck to make herself look like a lion. As for the hyenas, Asante had gotten her two favorite uncles, Cheezi and Chungu to play the role. The six friends loved to play bad hyena attack, but the game was made even better when they had actual hyenas chasing them instead of one or two of them pretending to be hyenas, unless they counted Asante. The fact that Cheezi and Chungu use to be bad hyenas when they were part of Janja's clan was a bonus, even if they didn't fully sell it on the intimidation factor with their silly and dimwitted nature.

Cheezi and Chungu were to chase Gozi, Umoja, Mbio, and Kweli to the end of a small trench in the earth and corner them, which was when Asante and Busara would come in and 'save' them, but having caught Umoja meant they won the game.

"Busara! Asante!" Gozi called over to his friends.

Having gained their attention, Asante and Busara looked over to see the others coming towards them. They could see that they weren't running and screaming from Cheezi and Chungu and knew immediately what that meant. The two groaned, knowing they and their friends lost the game and jumped off the rock, making their way over to them.

"Someone got caught?" Asante asked the obvious.

"Umoja did." Kweli said.

"Ahhh. Umoja, you weren't supposed to get caught; you guys were so close." Busara groaned.

"And other than Mbio obviously, you are the fastest runner amongst us." Asante said.

"Hay, it's not my fault, it's this stupid injured leg." Umoja irritably defended himself, glancing down at his leg. "It wouldn't be like this and I wouldn't have gotten caught if it wasn't for that creep, Janja!"

Four days ago, after attacking Gozi and Asante, everyone learned that Janja, who had been banished from the Pride Lands and Outlands nearly a year ago for kidnapping and attempted murder to try and force Jasiri to become his mate instead of Kion's, had come back, but he wasn't alone. Janja had a new clan at his back to help him with his revenge and he was married to its matriarch, Hatari. The day before that, when Umoja and Gozi were playing in the Outlands, they had run into Janja and Hatari's clan. When trying to attack the two princes, Gozi specifically, Janja had grabbed Umoja by the leg with his teeth, leaving a nasty bitemark. The clan than chased Gozi for a while until they cornered him, which was when the Roar of Elders awakened within him and he used it to blast the hyenas away and scare off Janja.

After being brought to Pride Rock to tell their parents, grandparents, uncle, and aunts of what they learned, Umoja's leg was patched up. Umoja's leg came out pretty okay for the most part, nothing crippling, he hadn't lost any worrying amount of blood, and it wasn't infected, but there was a chance it could leave some scars and he was told not to do anything too physical for the next week or two just to be safe. Umoja should have still been taking it easy, but he felt so cramped up in the den and didn't want to miss out on the fun with his friends. Cheezi and Chungu both were too easy even for young cubs too control to be responsible adults and tell Umoja to keep resting his leg. Umoja had also tested his leg and it didn't hurt to put pressure on it as much as it did five days ago, but apparently it still made him easy hyena bait in and out of game.

Umoja growled as he thought about his leg and of Janja.

"I hope one day that creep knows how it feels to have a busted-up leg." Umoja said.

"Uh, he kinda already does from when my dad broke his leg." Asante pointed out.

"Oh, uh, well, than… than I hope one day he gets to know how it feels to have a busted-up leg again." Umoja said.

"The only question is, will Kion or you, do it?" Mbio laughed.

"Or Janja's lovely wife?" Busara added. "I mean, she did seem pretty peeved off about him keeping Gozi's roar a secret."

"Oh yeah, that's right." Umoja said, remembering.

The young ones than began laughing at the thought of Hatari hurting Janja's leg for lying to her about Gozi's roar.

"And it's been four days, so she probably already has." Gozi said as he laughed.

"If so, then remind me to thank her next we see her." Umoja said.

As the young ones all continued laughing, Cheezi and Chungu both of them nervously laughed lightly along with them as they glanced at each other. The both of them had learned a lot better over the last couple years, especially the past one with Janja. However, despite all Janja had done, even to them, they still in a way deeply missed him and wished there was a way he could come back, but knew that couldn't and wouldn't happen and so looked back at some of their earliest memories with him or at least not the so violent parts fondly. When the young ones were all finished laughing, Asante spoke up.

"Alright, how about we start another game of bad hyena attack?" Asante suggested.

"If so than I call being in the Lion Guard role. Getting caught once was embarrassing enough and I won't have a chance at catching anyone if a play a bad hyena either." Umoja stated.

The young ones debated for a little bit on who should be what role. Cheezi and Chungu were give the bad hyena role again, Umoja and Asante the Lion Guard role, and Gozi, Busara, Kweli, and Mbio as the ones being chased. They were all about to get into position, but then Gozi suddenly thought of a new way they could play the game.

"Oh, wait, wait, wait a second, I just got an idea." Gozi said.

"What?" Umoja asked on everyone's behalf.

"We play bad hyena attack, but with a twist. All but one of us run from one bad hyena." Gozi said.

"That doesn't sound like too much of a twist." Kweli said.

"The twist is the bad hyena we're pretending to run from." Gozi said. "The bad hyena we're pretending to run from is Janja, but he's a slow and clumsy loser…"

"More than he already is?" Umoja wittingly cut in.

"Anyways, as 'Janja' is chasing and tripping over things and himself, we throw insults at him and just whatever else we want to do until we get tired of it." Gozi explained.

As Gozi finished explaining his twist to their game, everyone, minus Cheezi and Chungu, all agreed that it sounded fun, Umoja especially.

"But hay, whose gonna play the role of Janja?" Mbio suddenly asked.

Everyone just stood there in awkward silence and glancing at each other out of the corner of their eyes.

"Not it!" Umoja, Gozi, Asante, Busara, and Kweli suddenly shouted and holding up a paw.

"Wha?" Mbio exclaimed.

"Sorry Mbio, looks like your it." Busara said.

"Huh?" Mbio exclaimed again.

"We all said that we're not it, so that means you're playing the role of Janja." Umoja said.

"Me!?" Mbio exclaimed.

"Yes, you." Asante said.

Mbio looked towards Cheezi and Chungu.

"Well, what about them?" Mbio questioned. "Gozi said Janja is a slow and clumsy idiot, they're perfect for that and they use to practically worship Janja and so should enjoy pretending to be him. So, no…"

"Not it." Cheezi and Chungu quickly said before Mbio could finish.

"What!?" Mbio exclaimed, looking back at Cheezi and Chungu.

"Well than, looks like it's settled Mbio. You're playing the role of slow and clumsy loser." Gozi said, trying to hold back his laughter.

"Ahhh, damn." Mbio cursed.

"Oooh, you swore." Asante laughed.

"You're damn right I swore! I never get to play the role of bad hyena whenever we play bad hyena attack because of my speed, but when I finally get the chance, I get made Janja and I have to act SLOW and CLUMSY!" Mbio said. "Just excuse me for a second. How can I be slow or clumsy when I'm the fastest member of Gozi's guard and the son of a previous fastest member of the Lion Guard!?"

"Fate is a cruel mistress." Busara said dramatically. "But whatever. Catch us if you can… Janja."

Everyone except Mbio than took off running and screaming or more accurately laughing. Mbio grunted in frustration before the others started throwing slow and Janja themed insults at him.

"Come on slowpoke, catch us if you can!"

"Double furbrain!"

"Your limp causing you trouble Janja?"

"Or are we just in your blind spot?"

Mbio gave a frustrated sigh before running after the others, pretending to act slow and clumsy and trying to imitate Janja's voice.

"I swear to you, you little Pride Lander scums, I'm gonna seriously kick the butt of the first one of you jerks I catch." Mbio half-lied in his Janja voice as he chased the others.

Meanwhile, not too far from where the children and Cheezi and Chungu were playing, on a rock in the shadow of a hill so steep, it had a drop off, together slept a male lion and a female hyena. Jasiri had finished her royal duties in the Outlands for the day with her mate Kion accompanying her like he almost always did. The two had also done a quick search in a part of the Outlands to see if they could find at least a trace of where Hatari and Janja's clan were, but couldn't find anything. They had decided to go into the Pride Lands to check on their daughter, Asante and her friends, but when they came across a rock against the side of a hill and covered in shade from some trees at the top, they couldn't resist the urge to get out of the heat of the dry season's sun and maybe an afternoon nap. The two slept for a couple hours until Jasiri started to wake up.

The hyena queen slowly opened her eyes, quickly shutting them back up due to the bright sun and yawned, her long tongue rolling out of her mouth as she did. She brought up her paws and used them to rub any sleepiness out of her eyes and blinked afterwards to get them to better adjust to the light of the afternoon sun. Even though she was now awake, she continued to lay against Kion's side, smiling as she listened to his breathing and feel his side slowly rising and falling as he did. After a few minutes of doing so, she rolled herself off of Kion's side and onto her belly. She slowly crawled up towards Kion's head, which was resting in his paws as he slept.

Jasiri smiled as she stared at Kion's features. Everyone who was old enough to remember, said that as an adult, Kion looked strikingly similar to his grandfather apart from his mane naturally being slightly more swept back and the four scars over his left eye. Jasiri had to agree with them as she had seen Kion talk to his grandfather's spirit and had been there with him when they talked once or twice. Jasiri reached out and pressed her paw against Kion's left cheek, which felt soft against her paw pads. She rubbed that area for a little bit, being careful not to wake Kion, until she brought her paw down to his muzzle.

Jasiri wedged one of her claws between Kion's lips and lifted it up to admire his teeth, which gleamed white. Jasiri took her paw away from Kion's mouth and started to slowly stroke up and down his nose. As she did so, Jasiri reached out, planting a quick kiss on Kion's cheek and then she licked him under his chin. After that, Kion began stirring awake. Jasiri took her paw away and laid her head in her paws as she waited for Kion to fully awaken.

Kion lifted his head from his paws, yawned, and then shook his mane, which Jasiri lightly giggled at, before rubbing his eyes with his paws. When he put his paws back down, Kion looked at Jasiri, who smiled and waved at him with her paw.

"Enjoy your nap?" Jasiri asked.

"Yes, you enjoy yours?" Kion asked, smiling back at Jasiri.

"I've been enjoying them ever since I started laying my head on that nice, soft pillow you call your belly." Jasiri said with a giggle.

Kion laughed and lightly shoved Jasiri with his paw, which Jasiri playfully tried to nip at as he drew it back. Jasiri and Kion both shared a laugh and then leaned in a nuzzled each other, ending with a kiss and bumping their noses together before pulling away.

"So, any good dreams during your nap? Kion asked.

"Nope. All peaceful and quiet." Jasiri said, leaning against Kion's shoulder. "What about you?"

Kion smiled as Jasiri said that.

"Oh, nothing really special. I only just dreamt about the night you and I had together before Baliyo brought Asante to us." Kion said.

"Oh really?" Jasiri replied, trying to hold back a laugh.

Jasiri remembered that night from over four months ago and remembered it very fondly. She remembered the time they spent together that night and the joy they brought each other within their limits. Jasiri leaned on her elbow, placing her cheek in her paw and sighed happily as she was thinking of that night and the day after it. Jasiri suddenly got an idea and smiled as she looked towards Kion. She leaned in towards his face until their noses were nearly touching.

"You wanna relive that night?" Jasiri asked.

Kion pulled back from Jasiri, taken completely by surprise from her offer. Jasiri's smile only widened at the surprised look on Kion's face. Kion took a glance at the shadow of a tree nearby.

"But uh, Jasiri, we need to check on Asante and her friends; we were supposed to do so like two hours ago." Kion said, beginning to get up.

Jasiri reached out, grabbing onto Kion's foreleg.

"I'm sure Asante and her friends could wait another hour." Jasiri said.

Jasiri than giggled and flashed her eyes at Kion seductively while licking her lips. Kion just stared at Jasiri for a minute before deciding that maybe just one more hour of some quality time with Jasiri wouldn't hurt.

"Alright, but just one hour." Kion stated.

"Hay, if we spend more than an hour, it'll be your fault, not mine." Jasiri said with a smirk and raised eyebrow.

"Oh, just shut up already. I want to taste those honeyed lips of yours." Kion said.

Kion reached out, grabbing Jasiri's cheeks and rubbing them with the 'thumbs' of his paws. Jasiri closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of Kion rubbing her cheeks. Kion eventually pushed at the edges of Jasiri's lips, forcing her to give an openmouthed smile and then leaned in and slowly licked her soft, sweet lips. Jasiri giggled lightly, touching her tingling lips before reaching up to force Kion's mouth open and lick his lips like he licked hers. The two than rubbed their foreheads together and licked the other under their chins.

Jasiri instructed Kion to lay down, which he did. Jasiri smothered her face into Kion's mane before pressing her muzzle against his, kissing him. Jasiri than began to plant kisses over the rest of Kion's body, on his forehead, his cheeks, between his eyes, on his nose, on his chest, and down to his belly. Jasiri stopped before she went any further and looked up at Kion.

She smiled and winked at Kion, who winked back at her. Jasiri resumed, planting more kisses on Kion's belly, but before she could go any further however, they heard the sound of children laughing.

"Huh?" both Kion and Jasiri exclaimed, looking up the hill.

The laughing got closer and closer until someone jumped from the top of the hill and landed in front of them. Kion and Jasiri looked to see it was Bunga and Binga's daughter, Busara.

"Busara, what are you doing here?" Kion wondered out loud.

But it appeared that Busara hadn't heard him as she took off running. Kion was about to go after Busara and ask what she was doing out this far in the Pride Lands, but before he could, others jumped down from the hill in front of him and Jasiri. Down from the hill jumped Dogo's daughter, Kweli, then Gozi, Chungu, and then Cheezi, who was carrying Umoja on his back.

"Huh, what are they all doing here?" Jasiri wondered out loud.

"And where's Asante, wasn't she supposed to be with them?" Kion pointed out.

"Hahaha! Run, run, run as fast as you can!" Gozi shouted.

"You can't catch us, you're a cripple Janja!" Umoja shouted.

"Janja!" Kion exclaimed, jumping straight up at the sound of that name.

Jasiri herself jumped to her paws. They were about to run up the hill and confront Janja, but were startled by another voice from atop the hill that was soon followed by a shout.

"Hay, guys, wait for m… woah, ahhh!" the voice said.

Kion and Jasiri looked up to see who the voice belonged to, but as soon as they did, something fall on Jasiri, sending her flat to the ground. Startled, Kion looked down to see what had fallen on Jasiri, only to see it was their daughter, Asante.

"Oh, what landed on me?" Jasiri asked, a little winded from Asante landing on her.

"Ugh, sorry mama." Asante apologized.

Jasiri smiled at the sound of her adoptive daughter's voice and stood back up, Asante sliding down from her mother's neck to her back as she did.

"Oh, no need sweet pie, your father and I were just coming to check on you. So, it was nicely convenient of you to drop in." Jasiri said.

Asante laughed at her mother's joke and climbed back up onto her neck, which Jasiri straightened out to make it easier for her. Asante reached over, nuzzling her mother's cheek and then licked her behind her ear, Jasiri giggling lightly as she did. Jasiri than dipped her head, causing Asante to roll onto the ground. Asante rolled for a moment or two until she sat up in front of her parents and shook her head. Jasiri noticed the red leaves that Asante was wearing around her neck and giggled at the sight as it made her look like a lion.

"What are you doing with that on?" Jasiri asked.

As Jasiri asked that, Gozi, Busara, Kweli, Cheezi, Chungu, and Umoja, who had slid off Cheezi's back came over to them.

"You okay there Asante?" Kweli asked.

"Yeah, we heard you scream and saw you fall." Busara stated.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Asante said, turning around to face her friends and uncles. "I accidently stepped on one of my leaves as I was running and tripped, but my mom broke my fall."

"Maybe next time you should probably wear shorter leaves." Umoja advised.

"I was just thinking that." Asante said, as she started ripping of the tips of the leaves in front of her legs.

Kion and Jasiri smiled at the sight of their daughter with her friends. At this point, they realized they weren't running from Janja like they had thought, they should have known from how they were laughing as they ran, but wondered why they were acting like it.

"So, what are you crazy kids doing all the way out here?" Kion asked.

Gozi came forward to answer.

"We were just playing bad hyena attack Uncle Kion and were pretending to run from Janja." Gozi said.

"Oh really." Jasiri ask, starting to giggle a little.

"Yeah, Cheezi and Chungu were playing the role of bad hyenas last round." Gozi continued.

"Yeah, and you know from experience we're great for that role in the game." Cheezi said excitedly, punching Chungu on the shoulder.

"And we even won last round when we caught Umoja because of his bad leg." Chungu explained.

"Thanks for reminding me." Umoja said annoyed.

"You're welcome." Chungu said, oblivious to Umoja's annoyance.

"And afterwards, Gozi suggested he play bad hyena attack, pretending Janja is chasing us, who is slow and clumsy with his limp and we laugh and insult him." Busara said.

"And all you jerks, Janjaed me." came the voice of Mbio.

Everyone looked up the cliff to see Mbio standing on the edge before jumping down, landing nimbly on his feet.

"Mbio, you finally caught up with us." Kweli said.

"You mean, Janja, you finally caught up with us." Umoja said, laughing.

Mbio growled as he looked at Umoja.

"Okay, that's it. I quit!" Mbio proclaimed.

"You quit, what do you mean you quit?" Umoja asked.

"I mean, I quit. I'm not gonna pretend to be Janja anymore and have you all insult me." Mbio said.

"But we're not insulting you Mbio, we're insulting Janja." Busara said.

"Don't care; I'm still the one the insults are being hurled at." Mbio said. "I'm done pretending to be Janja and to be slow. So, pick someone else."

"Who?" Gozi asked.

"Oh, I don't know. How about you?" Mbio suggested.

"Me?" Gozi exclaimed.

"Yeah, you're the one who suggested this, so how about you be Janja." Mbio said.

"I'm not pretending to be Janja." Gozi said, shaking his head.

Kion and Jasiri couldn't help but laugh a little to themselves at the bickering between Mbio and the others.

"Alright than. Asante, you were the one lagging behind, so how about you be Janja?" Mbio suggested.

"I can't." Asante said.

"You can't? What do you mean you can't?" Mbio asked.

"Because… I'm wearing the lion leaf mane." Asante said, which got a laugh out of everyone except Mbio.

"Well, someone either pick someone to be Janja or let's just go back to playing bad hyena attack normally and I want to play a Lion Guard member since there's next to no chance of looking like a fool there and I never get to play a normal bad hyena anyway." Mbio said.

Busara looked at Kweli next to her and whispered.

"Uh, Mbio does know that when we play bad hyena attack and we say he can't be a hyena because he's too fast that we're only messing with him right?" Busara whispered.

"He should know, he's just never assertive enough about it." Kweli said.

"Unlike Aunt Fuli would be." Busara said.

As that was going on, Gozi decided they just go back to playing normal bad hyena attack.

"Alright Mbio, we'll go back to playing the game the normal way and you can be a Lion Guard member, who else wants to be one?" Gozi asked.

"Me, with this leg, it's the best role for me in this game anyway." Umoja said.

"Can I still be in the Lion Guard role. I want to save somebody while actually wearing this mane." Asante asked.

"Sure, it can be a makeup for Umoja getting caught. You still want to be in that role to, Busara?" Gozi asked.

"Sure." Busara accepted.

"Chungu and I'll be the bad hyenas again to, if that's okay." Cheezi offered.

Gozi nodded before looking towards his Kweli.

"Well, Kweli, I guess it's just you and me getting chased." Gozi said.

Everyone agreed on their roles and went off to go play.

"You know, I think Mbio was overreacting. He hates it when he thinks his speed is being insulted and he knows we'd never say stuff like that to him and that those were towards Janja and I was having fun doing so." Umoja complained to Gozi as they walked off.

"Shhh and just play things his way for now." Gozi advised.

"And other animals say you lions are the prideful ones." Kweli commented.

As that was going on, Asante turned back towards her parents.

"Bye mom, bye dad, see you two later." Asante said.

Kion and Jasiri just stood there and watched as their daughter, her friends, and Cheezi and Chungu went off to play their game. Eventually, they looked at each other, getting the same idea.

"Hay, you kids hold up a quick second." Kion called out as he and Jasiri walked up to them.

"What is it?" Umoja asked.

"You all have room for two more players, as in us?" Jasiri asked.

Everyone was taken by surprise when Jasiri asked if she and Kion could play bad hyena attack with them. It wasn't that none of their parents ever played with them, it was that the only adults who usually played bad hyena attack with them were Cheezi and Chungu. The children all looked at each other, thinking it over. After a second or two, Gozi turned towards his uncle and aunt.

"Pick what you want to be, bad hyena, getting chased, or a Lion Guard member." Gozi said.

"Hmmm." Jasiri mused as she looked at the three groups. "I'll play a bad hyena and lead Cheezi and Chungu. Someone's gonna need to bring the scary and intimidating vibe when play a bad hyena."

"But Aunt Jasiri, you're too pretty for that." Busara said.

Jasiri turned to Busara and smiled at her.

"Well, you're about to see my ugly side kid." Jasiri said, patting her on the cheek before giggling.

Jasiri walked over and stood between Cheezi and Chungu.

"Alright boys, be ready to cause some mischief." Jasiri said, already starting to get an evil, mischievous look on her face.

"Alright Uncle Kion, pick your team." Umoja said, turning towards him.

"I'll pair up with Gozi and Kweli." Kion said.

"What? Not us?" Umoja questioned, thinking his uncle would have joined him, Asante, Busara, and Mbio as the Lion Guard.

"We've got four of you playing Lion Guard, three bad hyenas, and two runners. Might as well make all three teams as close to even as possible." Kion said.

"Alright than, the teams are set; let's get going." Jasiri said.

Everyone nodded and went off to play their game. The children showed Kion and Jasiri where Cheezi and Chungu were supposed to chase them earlier so they each knew where to go. Umoja, Asante, Busara, and Mbio all went to sit and wait on the rock as the others got into their positions.

"Wow, I can't believe it, my parents are playing with us and I get to rescue my dad and fight my mom." Asante said excitedly. "This is going to be so much fun."

"Yeah, totally." Umoja agreed, laying down to wait for the others to come in for them to save them.

Asante, Umoja, and the other two waited for roughly five minutes until Gozi, Kweli, and Kion came running over the ridge, screaming and shouting hyena attack. Knowing that was their cue, Asante, Umoja, Busara, and Mbio stood up, ready to go in for the save. Gozi, Kweli, and Kion all ran into the trench and soon after they did, Jasiri, Cheezi, and Chungu came running over the ridge after them. The 'evil' look on Chungu's face was more of just a big dumb grin, the look of Cheezi's face was scarier, but was unable to be taken seriously with his tongue sticking out, but when the kids look at Jasiri's face, that's where things got different. Jasiri had her lips peeled back into this creepy evil smile, revealing her bone crushing teeth and gums so much, it seemed almost unnatural, her eyes contracted into small dots, it seemed she had ruffled up her own fur and hyena's mane a little bit and she even seemed to be slightly foaming at the sides of her mouth, all making her look like she was completely crazy.

"Wow." Busara said, placing a hand over her eyes to make sure the sun wasn't playing tricks on her eyes. "I take back what I said earlier Asante. You're mom really does look scary, even more so that Hatari and Janja did, even with all his scars."

"Well, she did say you were about to see her ugly side." Asante reminded.

"Not just scary or ugly; She looks off the rails nuts." Mbio said.

Umoja just nodded in agreement as they all said those things. The four stood there as they watched Jasiri, Cheezi, and Chungu run into the trench after the others. Asante was the first to jump up from the rock and run towards the trench.

"Alright, come on, it's Lion Guarding time!" Asante shouted.

The other three jumped off the rock after Asante. They all ran along the edge of the trench, trying to spot Jasiri and Gozi's groups.

"Oh, honeyfur, come out, come out where ever you are." came Jasiri voice from up ahead.

The four looked at each other as they ran.

"Honeyfur?" Umoja questioned.

"Must be dad." Asante said.

The four continued to run along the trench until they came to its end, where they saw Kion, Gozi, and Kweli at. It was then that the four heard the cackling of Jasiri, Cheezi, and Chungu. They looked over to see the three hyenas reveal themselves to Kion, Gozi, and Kweli.

"Ahhh. There's my honeyfur." Jasiri said, eyeing Kion specifically.

"Huh, that a usual pet name your mom uses on your dad?" Mbio asked.

"Nope, must be a new one she just thought of?" Asante assumed.

The four children continued to watch the scene between Jasiri and Gozi's groups, as Jasiri, Cheezi, and Chungu began advancing of Kion, Gozi, and Kweli.

"Boys, stop me if you've heard this story." Jasiri said, glancing at Cheezi and Chungu. "There once was a lion named honeyfur, whose features were oh so bright and pure, but when he crossed paths with the hyena queen of beauty and didn't call her a cutey, she spread his pieces across the canyon floor."

After Jasiri finished that, she looked at Kion, who was struggling to act like a scared cub, with one insane, evil looking eye and winked. Cheezi and Chungu than laughed and clapped, asking for an encore. Up above, Asante and Busara were holding back their urge to laugh.

"Wow Asante, I didn't know your mom was such a good rhymer." Busara said.

"Neither did I." Asante said.

"Um, excuse me, but aren't we on a mission here?" Mbio cut in.

"Oh, yeah right." Busara said. "Ready to jump in their guys?"

The four got into their battle-ready stances ready to jump in as Jasiri was giving the encore Cheezi and Chungu asked for.

"…but when he crossed paths with the hyena queen of beauty and didn't call her a cutey, she spread his pieces across the canyon floor." Jasiri said.

Cheezi and Chungu laughed and clapped again as Jasiri finished.

"Oh, that was even better than the first time Jasiri." Cheezi said.

"Yes, another encore, another encore!" Chungu shouted.

"Hmmm. I'd love to boys, but we've got to start thinking about lunch time and I want honeyfur over there to 'JOIN' me for it." Jasiri said.

"Yeah, and I want the other lion to join me for lunch." Chungu said.

"And I get the scruffy looking jackal." Cheezi said.

"Fine by me. Now come on boys, let's treat our new friends here to lunch." Jasiri said.

"Not if we have anything to say about it!" Asante shouted from above.

Everyone looked up to see Asante, Umoja, Busara, and Mbio standing on a ledge above them.

"The Lion Guard!" Jasiri growled with venom.

"In the living fur lady!" Mbio shouted.

"Hurray, we're saved!" Kweli shouted.

Asante looked back towards her friends.

"Alright Lion Guard, what time is it?" Asante asked.

"It's Lion Guarding time!" Umoja, Busara, and Mbio shouted.

Asante and Umoja than quickly got onto Mbio's back, who jumped from the ledge along with Busara, who summersaulted as she jumped. Mbio landed nimbly on his feet, Asante and Umoja jumping off his back, and Busara did a three-point landing.

"Looks like our lunch turned into lunch buffet." Chungu said.

"How 'bout we skip lunch and dinner and go straight to dessert. You guys like pound cake?" Busara asked, standing up and showing a fist.

"Pound cake. Hahaha! Oh, that's a good one." Cheezi laughed.

"Hush it furbrain." Jasiri said. "Come on, let's take the Lion Guard down, so that I can get back to my honeyfur."

"Yes boss." Cheezi and Chungu replied.

Jasiri, Cheezi, and Chungu than charged at Asante and the others. Asante, Busara, Umoja, and Mbio all looked at each other, almost mentally communicating to one another on what to do. The four nodded and charged at Jasiri, Cheezi, and Chungu. Busara jumped over Cheezi's head, onto his back, and grabbed onto his tail, tugging left.

"Woah! Hey!" Cheezi shouted as he was forcefully veered left.

Jasiri caught this and jumped back out of the way, but Chungu wasn't so fortunate as Cheezi crashed into him. Busara jumped off as both hyenas fell to the ground in a heap. They whimpered for a moment before trying to get up, but as they did Asante jumped onto them, using them as leverage to jump towards Jasiri. Asante grabbed onto Jasiri's face, scrambling to the back of her head, grabbing onto one of her ears with her teeth and pulling on it. Jasiri growled in annoyance and attempted to shake Asante off, which worked.

Jasiri pinned her to the ground on her side and was about to kill her off from the game until Busara, Umoja, and Mbio came to her rescue.

"Asante!" Busara shouted. "Mbio and I are sending Umoja over to you."

Asante and Jasiri looked just in time to see Busara, who was riding on Mbio's back, throw Umoja at Jasiri. Umoja connected with the lower side of Jasiri's abdomen, causing her to fall on her side and allowing Asante to get free from under her paw. Jasiri quickly got back up, Asante jumping onto her back and pulling on her other ear. Jasiri tried to shake her off again, but as she did Umoja grabbed onto her tail and tugged as hard as he could, jerking her back a little bit, though only because she was taken by surprise.

"Grrr! Let go!" Jasiri growled.

Jasiri shook her backside to try and make Umoja let go of her tail, but the young lion held firm onto her tail and kept pulling back.

"Asante, Umoja. You two take care of her, Mbio and I'll handle these two." Busara said, eyeing Cheezi and Chungu, who were only just getting back up.

Busara readied a vine she had found and made into a lasso in her hands and began twirling it above her head. When they were close enough, Busara threw her vine lasso. The loop fell over Chungu's head and around his neck.

"Yeehaw! Get along little doggy!" Busara shouted, pulling on the rope, tightening it around Chungu's thick neck.

"Hay!" Chungu said as he was pulled to the ground and at being called doggy.

"Now for the other one." Mbio said.

Cheezi shrieked in fight and began to take off.

"Mbio, you take care Cheezi, while I wrangle this one." Busara said.

"Happy wrangling." Mbio said.

Busara launched herself off Mbio's back and onto Chungu's. Chungu immediately started bucking like an angry bull to try and throw Busara off.

"Oh, no you don't." Busara said.

The young honey badger threw the rest of her vine lasso over Chungu's head, catching it in his mouth. She used it to fight against Chungu, if he bucked forward, she'd pull back, if left, she'd go right, and if right than left. Busara rode Chungu like a bull all around the area, laughing as she did so, this scene also got a laugh from Kion, Gozi, and Kweli as they watched. Back with Mbio, he was almost upon Cheezi and would be so within seconds. When he was close enough, Mbio leapt on Cheezi, landing on his back and pinning him to the ground by his shoulders.

"Ahhh! Uncle! Uncle!" Cheezi shouted.

Mbio smirked down at the red nosed hyena as he surrendered without putting up a fight. He looked over at Busara, who had Chungu on his side and his legs tied up.

"I can see you've got everything all wrapped up." Mbio said.

"Yes, all that's left is to help Asante and Umoja with Jasiri and it's a win for the Lion Guard." Busara said.

"Alright, now come on, let's go and…" Mbio began to say before looking towards Jasiri, Asante, and Umoja. "Oh no!"

Mbio and Busara looked to see Jasiri with her jaws around Asante's neck, who had her tongue hanging out of her mouth, pretending to be dead.

"Oh no, she got Asante!" Busara shouted.

"And the little lion cub is next." Jasiri said.

Jasiri jumped up, flipped her lower body up along with Umoja, who lost grip of Jasiri's tail as he flew into the air. Umoja fell back down towards Jasiri, who was still laying on her back and had her forelegs outstretched, ready to catch him.

"No!" Umoja yelled as he fell.

"Yes!" Jasiri said, as she wrapped her forelegs around Umoja tightly, pinning him against her body.

"Come on Mbio, we have to save Umoja." Busara said, already running to his rescue on all fours.

Mbio nodded and ran next to Busara to save Umoja, but they wouldn't get there in time. Jasiri peeled her lips back, giving Umoja the same creepy evil smile that was so large it looked almost unnatural from earlier, which was now actually starting to scare him, seeing it up close.

"Buh-bye!" Jasiri said before clamping her jaws around Umoja's neck.

"Oh no, Umoja!" Mbio shouted.

"Okay, that's it." Busara said, getting her vine lasso, having bitten off the end she tied Chungu up with, ready. "She's going down."

Busara threw her vine lasso, only for Jasiri to catch it in her mouth. She jerked back on the vine hard, bringing Busara forward. Busara fell flat on her face and Jasiri began to advance forward.

"Oh no, not on my watch." Mbio said, speeding forward.

Jasiri knew this was coming, she waited for a moment before jumping out of the way. This caused Mbio to crash into a wall, he tried to stop himself, but he had too much momentum from his run. The collision didn't hurt much, but Mbio was dazed from it. Mbio shook his head to get his focus back, but as he did, Jasiri pounced on him and before he could do anything to defend himself, he felt Jasiri's jaws on his neck.

"What! Are you serious!" Mbio exclaimed.

"No, I'm joking." Jasiri replied. "And you're dead."

Jasiri took a moment to laugh to herself before turning around. As she did, she was suddenly hit across the face, not hard, but enough to hurt.

"There's the pound cake I mentioned earlier." came Busara's voice.

"Ugh. I should have finished you off before the cheetah." Jasiri groaned, massaging her jaw.

"It'll be your funeral hyena." Busara said.

"Not before yours." Jasiri said.

Jasiri snapped at Busara, who vaulted out of the way. Jasiri however sideswept Busara's legs out from under her with one of her hind legs. Jasiri made another bite for Busara, but she rolled out of the way and jumped back onto her feet. However, as she did, Jasiri shoulder charged her. Busara was able to grab Jasiri by the shoulders and throw her over her head while she rolled back from Jasiri's shoulder charge.

Jasiri got up and turned around to face Busara, who as she turned around, pushed Jasiri's head into the ground and flipped over her, landing behind her. Busara then flipped Jasiri onto her back.

"Ha! Ya can't beat me hyena, not on your own." Busara said.

Jasiri, still on her back, looked up at Busara and just gave an evil smirk.

"Maybe, but I'm not on my own, remember?" Jasiri said.

Suddenly Busara was lifted off the ground by the back of her neck by something.

"Huh?" Busara exclaimed as she was.

Busara tried to get a look at what grabbed her, but was unable to turn her head. She realized what it was when suddenly Cheezi entered her view.

"Like daddy, like daughter!" Cheezi said before laughing crazily.

"Ha ha ha. You and your cheetah friend shoulda killed my boys while you had the chance." Jasiri said as she got up.

It was then that Busara realized what just happened. While she and Mbio were fighting Jasiri, Cheezi must've gotten up and untied Chungu's legs and while she was distracted, Chungu grabbed her from behind like he had done her father years ago the day Kion started his Lion Guard.

"Oh no." Busara gasped.

"Oh yes." Jasiri said, giving Busara her evil, unnatural looking smile. "Alright boys, take care of the honey badger while I take care of my honey lion here."

"Whatever you say boss." Cheezi said, giggling evilly.

"Yes boss, of course." Chungu said.

Chungu continued to hold onto the back of Busara's neck while Cheezi grabbed onto one of her leg. The two hyenas than began to pull and continued pulling until they 'tore' Busara in two.

"Alright! After all these years, honey badger is finally on the menu!" Cheezi shouted.

"Yeah! I just hope honey badgers taste better than they smell." Chungu said, waving a paw in front of his face, remembering the times he and others fell victim to Bunga's stench.

"Oh, I'm sure they do furbrains. They're called HONEY badgers, so I'm certain they taste just as sweet." Jasiri said.

Jasiri finally set her eyes fully on Kion, who looked at the scene in disbelief at the Lion Guard losing. Jasiri just smiled as she saw this.

"Take a good long look honeyfur, take a good long look at what me and my furbrains did to the Lion Guard, because now it's your turn." Jasiri said.

Jasiri licked her heavily salivating lips and charged at Kion.

"Ahhh! Oh, my god!" was all Kion could utter before Jasiri pounced on him.

When Jasiri pounced on Kion, she tackled him to the ground on his back and killed him, by licking and kissing him all over his face. Kion soon began to laugh from being overwhelmed with licks and kisses from Jasiri. The other children got up from where they were 'killed' and walked over, watching as Jasiri continued with the licking and kissing, despite Kion asking Jasiri to stop.

"Come on Jasiri, stop it, stop it already, stop." Kion laughed, trying to push Jasiri off him.

Jasiri didn't stop however, continuing on for a little longer until she did stop. She looked down and smiled at him, seeing the fur on his face all messed up from the numerous licks she'd given him. Jasiri edged her face down closer to Kion's, who for a moment thought she was going in for another kiss, he closed his eyes and got his lips ready.

"YOU'RE DEAD!" Jasiri suddenly shouted in his face before laughing.

The others all laughed along with Jasiri. Jasiri than looked at Gozi and Kweli.

"And you're dead to." Jasiri said. "Quickly furbrains, grab them before they run away."

Before Gozi and Kweli could even process what Jasiri said, Chungu and Cheezi grabbed them, pretending to rip their throats out. Jasiri smiled at seeing this and gave a small laugh.

"Well, I'd say that's another win for the hyenas today." Jasiri said.

"Yeah! Alright!" Cheezi shouted.

"I think this is the most we've ever won against the good guys." Chungu said.

"And we won twice in a row." Cheezi said.

"Janja would be so proud." Chungu said.

"Well, he can be jealous whenever he hears about this since you won thanks to Jasiri, showing you two just need someone who's actually a good leader to kill the Lion Guard." Busara commented.

"Yep." Jasiri agreed, slipping off Kion, allowing him to get up.

Before Kion got up however, Jasiri quickly grabbed onto Kion's belly with her teeth and shook her head while growling. Jasiri soon let go, giggling as she did.

"You know, the day we met and you fell flat on your back into that thorn bush, I was debating on whether to help you out of it or to rip your belly open." Jasiri told Kion before giggling.

"Well, I'm glad you chose the former." Kion said.

"Somedays, I wish I'd done the latter. I mean, you can be really sweet and I'm a girl who does love sweets… honeyfur." Jasiri joked.

Kion and Jasiri both then laughed before Kion rolled himself over and around and rubbed noses with Jasiri. Jasiri than turned around to face everyone.

"Ahhh, that was fun everyone." Jasiri said, sitting down.

"Yeah, that was the best game of bad hyena attack we've played ever." Umoja said.

"And that fight, wow, that was like so much fun." Busara said.

"You're telling me. My jaw is still a little sore from your… pound cake." Jasiri said as she rubbed the side of her muzzle.

"I still can't believe I got to fight against mom and almost save dad." Asante said.

"I still don't believe Cheezi and Chungu beat us, even with Jasiri leading them." Umoja said.

"I still don't believe that Busara had Jasiri there for a moment until Chungu grabbed her." Kion said,

"I still don't believe it. I choose to play a Lion Guard member to not look like a fool, but I still did when she tricked me." Mbio complained.

"Ahhh, don't be a sore loser Mbio." Umoja said.

"And you want to talk about embarrassing deaths; Like Kion said, Busara had Jasiri right where she wanted her until Cheezi freed Chungu and grabbed her from behind since she forgot about you not killing Cheezi." Kweli said.

"Hay, I was trying to go and save Umoja and how is getting snuck up on more embarrassing than what happened to me? Being snuck up on is just like being hunted." Mbio asked.

"Because it was in the middle of a fight?" Asante assumed.

"And because when anything happens that you think makes you look like a fool or you think mocks your speed, you always act overdramatic about it." Umoja said.

"What!? No, I don't." Mbio said.

"You did earlier. I was having a blast pretending to run from and insult Janja, till you acted overdramatic and made us stop even though you knew all those insults weren't directed towards you, you jerk!" Umoja snapped, still feeling frustrated from it earlier.

"Jerk? I'm being a jerk?" Mbio questioned.

"Yeah." Umoja replied.

"You're the one who's being the jerk." Mbio replied back.

"Hay, hay, hay you two. We were all just having fun, so don't start fighting." Kion said, standing up.

"Well, he started it!" Umoja and Mbio said at the same time, pointing at each other.

"The both of you just stop it. Now, why don't we play for a while longer and to make it easier, we'll have you two on separate teams." Jasiri negotiated.

"Works for me." Umoja said.

"Alright, but I wanna be on whatever team Jasiri is on to have better chances to win and not look like a fool." Mbio requested.

"Alright, then that means you're going to be running from Kion with me. It's time for the leader of the Lion Guard to become leader of the hyenas." Jasiri said with a giggle, looking at Kion.

"Oh, this should be fun." Kion replied. "Alright, let's go and talk about who is going to be on which team everyone."

As everyone began to make their way out of the trench, Umoja got in front of Mbio and waved him out.

"Ladies first." Umoja said.

"C'mon Umoja, quit it." Asante said as she passed her lion cousin.

Everyone got into their positions, Jasiri and Mbio running from the bad hyenas, consisting of Kion, Asante, Cheezi, and Chungu while everyone else was the Lion Guard. This round ended with another hyena victory with Kion was able to get around the others and tackle Jasiri like she did to him last round. Mbio groaned at being on the losing team three times in a row, but was grateful nothing made him look like a fool this time. They played another round, deciding to give Cheezi and Chungu a break from always having to be the bad hyenas, having them be part of the Lion Guard team along with Umoja, Gozi, and Busara, while Kion ran again with Kweli, and Jasiri, Asante, and Mbio finally to be bad hyenas. It seemed like Mbio was finally going to be on a winning team after his three-loss streak, but he was taken down by Cheezi and Chungu, who got him by surprise.

Everyone played a few more rounds and they were all having fun, well, except for Mbio, who was either always on the losing team or even if he was on the winning team, he was always killed. After their eighth game with Kion and Jasiri and his ninth loss in a row today, Mbio and his competitive spirit had finally had enough.

"That's it, screw this game!" Mbio snapped.

Still in the middle of their game, Mbio broke away from everyone and began to walk off. Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched Mbio as he walked off.

"Hay, where's he going?" asked Chungu, who was being held in a headlock by Busara.

"Mbio, where are you going?" Asante asked.

"Screw this game. I'm going to find my mom so we can race. I beat her yesterday; I'll do so again today." Mbio said.

"Yeah, run home and cry to mommy, you sore loser." Umoja said, though not out loud.

"Mbio, wait." Gozi said, almost going after him.

"Just give him time to calm down Gozi." Kion advised.

"Yeah, let's just go back to playing." Umoja said.

"Okay." Gozi said.

Everyone started the game over from Mbio interruption, the bad hyenas consisting of Jasiri, Kion, Asante, Cheezi, and Chungu winning. They all continued to play for a few more hours, until it was late in the day. The bad hyena group today had won twenty times to the Lion Guard's twenty-one wins, which was the most the bad hyenas had ever won in one day. They were all having fun, though the children except Umoja were missing Mbio. Kion assured them it'd be okay and that he'd talk with Fuli and Azaad about it tomorrow.

It was little more than an hour until sunset and everyone was on their last game for the day. Asante, Gozi, Busara, and Kweli were running from the bad hyenas consisting of Jasiri, Kion, and Umoja while Cheezi and Chungu played the Lion Guard. The children were all running from Jasiri, Kion, and Umoja, shouting hyena attack. As they all ran however, Asante was starting to fall behind. They had all been playing nonstop with no breaks since Kion and Jasiri started playing and Asante was starting to get tired from the constant physical activity and from it being so late in the day.

Asante's legs felt tired and her eyelids were becoming heavy and she could even feel a yawn coming on. Jasiri saw that Asante was falling behind and made her move. Jasiri ran faster to catch Asante before she could try to quicken her own pace, when she was close enough, Jasiri tackled Asante. Mother and daughter went rolling, laughing as they did until they stopped, Jasiri ending up on her back, laughing and holding up her daughter around her midsection in her paws.

"Got you." Jasiri said, giggling.

Jasiri quickly brought Asante back down and rubbed her nose against her belly, which caused Asante to laugh due to it's wetness. Jasiri than planted a quick kiss on Asante's cheek before lifting her back up to gaze at. The mother and daughter smiled at each other until Asante suddenly yawned. Jasiri smiled at this and chuckled.

"I think it's bedtime for someone." Jasiri said.

"Huh, but it's…" Asante began to point out before yawning. "…it's not my bedtime yet; it's when it get dark and that's at least an hour from now."

"Well, you sound and look tired enough for an early bedtime to me." Jasiri said.

Asante yawned again, proving Jasiri's point. Jasiri rolled onto her paws and picked up Asante by her scruff before standing up. She walked over to Cheezi and Chungu, who walked over to her with the others after she caught Asante. Jasiri placed Asante on Chungu's back and Asante instantly curled up at the base of his thick neck.

"Cheezi, Chungu, go back home and put her to bed while Kion and I take the other children to their homes." Jasiri said.

Cheezi and Chungu nodded and Jasiri leaned in towards her daughter and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"Good night Asante, your father and I will see you when we get home; don't wait for us to fall asleep." Jasiri said.

"Okay." Asante replied.

Kion came and also wished his adoptive striped hyena daughter good night.

"Good night Asante, I hope you had fun today." Kion said.

"Yes, especially when you and mom joined us." Asante said.

Asante reached up and rubbed her muzzle against Kion's. The rest of Asante's friends all wished Asante good night and she to them. Cheezi and Chungu than made their way home towards the Outlands. Busara went off on her own, bidding everyone good night and that she'd see them tomorrow. Kweli tried to go home on her own to, but Kion and Jasiri said that they didn't want her wandering the Outlands late in the evening in fear of her running into Janja or anyone else from his and Hatari's clan, so she stuck with them as they escorted Umoja and Gozi home. They escorted Umoja and Gozi right up to the steps of Pride Rock and told them to tell everyone they said hi.

Kion and Jasiri than escorted Kweli home to the cave she and the rest of Reirei's pack called home. They met up with Reirei as they did, who simply said 'thank you for escorting Kweli home, good night and good-bye.' After awkwardly telling Reirei that she was welcome even though she had already gone into the cave, Kion and Jasiri began to finally make their way to their home.

"You know, Reirei could at least pretend to be a little nicer." Kion said as they left. "I mean, that is what she's best at."

"That and having dozens and dozens of kids." Jasiri laughed.

The sun had just set when they had entered the Outlands earlier and there was still some light in the sky, even as Kion and Jasiri made their way home. Jasiri gazed up at the sky as they made their way home, admiring the pink, violet, and dark blues. It's gorgeousness was completely unrivaled. As she thought that though, Jasiri's eyes wandered to Kion next to her.

"Well, maybe not completely unrivaled." Jasiri thought as a smile spread across her features.

Jasiri forced herself to tare her eyes away from Kion as they continued on. As they got closer to home however, Jasiri found herself starting to hum softly and soon began shimmying her backside as she walked. Kion noticed this and turned towards Jasiri to see what she was doing.

"What are you doing?" Kion asked, trying not to laugh.

"Oh, nothing." was all Jasiri could say and just smiled at him, showing him her bone crunching teeth.

Kion took her word for it and the two just continued on home. Jasiri continued on humming and dancing as she walked and Kion soon planted a kiss on her cheek, which pleased her. When they got home, they found Madoa waiting for them at the entrance to the clan's den.

"Finally, there you two are." Madoa said, seeming a little tired herself.

"Hay Madoa." Kion and Jasiri both greeted.

"Have Cheezi and Chungu arrived with Asante?" Kion asked.

"Yes, they arrived a while ago and all three are asleep." Madoa said with a telling smile on her face. "The rest of the clan has also turned in for the night or are about to. I just wanted to make sure you both arrived safely before I went to bed."

"Well, here we are, so you can go to bed now." Jasiri said as she and Kion entered.

"Good night and see you in the morning." Kion said.

"Good night you two." Madoa said, going to her part of the den to sleep.

Kion and Jasiri went to the back of the den where they slept. As they entered, despite knowing she was asleep from Madoa, Jasiri whispered to Asante that they were home. Jasiri and Kion suddenly noticed that there was a large shape near where they slept, curious to what it was they went to check it out. When they got closer, they saw that it was Chungu, who had his head hooked over Cheezi's neck, who in his sleep gave off these small, giggly laughs and had his tongue sticking out even as he slept, and wrapped up in Cheezi's forelegs and leaning against his neck slept Asante. Jasiri couldn't help but smile at the adorable scene of her daughter sleeping along with her two favorite uncles, the same for Kion once he saw.

Kion and Jasiri looked at each other and smiled and nuzzled each other before laying down a fair distant away from Asante, Cheezi, and Chungu. As they laid there, Jasiri reached out with her paw, placing it against Kion's left cheek and very lightly scratching it with her claws. Kion took Jasiri's paw, bringing it more in front of his face and began licking before nibbling on it.

"Ow, hay, that hurts." Jasiri complained with a laugh.

Jasiri and Kion continued to lay there awake for a little while until Kion broke the silence.

"You know, I had a fun time today." Kion said.

"Yeah, me to. I never knew being a bad hyena could be so much fun." Jasiri said, laughing afterwards.

"And Gozi and his friends did pretty well when playing as the Lion Guard. I know I said this four days ago, but I think Gozi made a good call, in picking Asante, Kweli, and Mbio to be part of his guard." Kion said.

"Yeah, and Busara, she was a natural." Jasiri said.

"Well, she is Bunga's daughter." Kion said.

"I know we were all just pretending to fight, but she really almost had me and might of if she hadn't forgotten about Cheezi and Chungu." Jasiri admitted. "I'm proud Asante is part of the Lion Guard, but it is a shame that Busara isn't part of it."

"Well, she may not be part of it officially, but I've got a feeling she'll be to Gozi's guard what you were to my guard, if you get my meaning." Kion said.

"I'm sure, I do." Jasiri said. "If we're able to, let's play more again with them tomorrow."

"I'll add it to our to do list." Kion said.

It was then that Kion and Jasiri decided to try and get some sleep. They wished each other good night and began to fall asleep. After a couple of minutes, they were just about to drift off until suddenly…

"Prime minister, prime minister, prime minister Jasiri!" a voice called from the entrance of the den.

"Huh?" Jasiri exclaimed as her head immediately shot straight up.

Kion's head also shot up from the sudden sound of the voice. Cheezi and Chungu had even been woken and their stirring also caused Asante to wake up in Cheezi's forelegs.

"Huh, what's going on?" Asante asked as soon as she woke up.

"Hello, is our prime minister here?" the voice called again.

"Mzingo? What's he doing here at this hour?" Jasiri wondered out loud as she got up.

Kion, Asante, Cheezi, and Chungu all got up and followed Jasiri. They saw Mzingo near the entrance of the cave with most of the members of the clan glaring at him for waking them up.

"Somebody, is Jasiri here?" Mzingo asked the clan.

"Yeah, and she like the rest of us is trying to sleep! So beat it and come back tomorrow baldy!" a member of Janja's old clan snapped in a grumpy tone.

"No, it's okay, I'm here Mzingo." Jasiri said quickly, walking over to Mzingo. "What are you doing here at this hour?"

"To inform you. One of my parliament spotted a lion at the edge of the Outlands." Mzingo informed.

"A lion?" Kion questioned.

"When you say edge of the Outlands, do mean from the Pride Lands or the Backlands?" Jasiri asked.

"The Backlands and it was a brown lion and they said it kinda looked like Prince Kovu from the Pride Lands." Mzingo said.

"A brown lion that looks like Uncle Kovu?" Asante questioned.

Kion and Jasiri immediately looked at each other, knowing only one lion that fit that description. They then looked down at Asante and smiled at her.

"Asante, it appears Baliyo has arrived for a visit." Kion said.

And that is the first chapter to this story everyone, Gozi and his friends playing bad hyena attack with Cheezi and Chungu playing as the bad hyenas and later joined by Jasiri and Kion. Wow, I think even if it was all just pretend, I think Jasiri makes a better bad hyena than Janja ever was, don't you all think. Looks like Baliyo has arrived to tell everyone what happened in the bonus chapter of Roar of Manipulation.

That's it for everyone, see you in the next chapter, whenever I finish it, but until than good day or night, read my other stories whenever you can and leave a review on them as well as this one, continue to stay healthy out there, and God bless.
