Chapter 1- Oh to be drunk and young

"Who the fuck took my foundation?!" Trixie questioned all of her flatmates for about the hundredth time that evening.

"Trix, we've all told you, we don't know" Shelagh chirped back, her thick Scottish accent coming through as she was getting rather annoyed.

"Maybe you just got it lost somewhere?" Jenny replied, unfortunately suffering the same annoyed fate as shelagh did only moments ago.

"Actually don't worry… found it!" It had simply fallen down between her dresser and the wall.

An hour later the girls were no more ready than they were when he foundation incident happened.

"Girls.. who's up for a little brightener before we leave?" Jenny was more than keen to pop open a bottle of champagne, it was something they all needed, especially Shelagh, they could never seem to catch her interest in drinking before, mainly because they were underage, but Shelagh was also quite petrified of the effect that alcohol may have on her.

"Shelagh is definitely going to need one if we want to find her a man!" Trixie added

quickly, ever since they turned 18 Trixie wanted to find Shelagh someone, a 'companion' she put it. But to be honest Trixie had turned into the human equivalent of Tinder.

"I don't need a boyfriend" Shelagh said, actually slightly upset.

"Oh come on, you haven't had anything, not even a quick one, and I don't mean just boyfriend, I mean…"

"I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN OKAY!? I DON'T WANT IT, I DON'T WANT ANY OF IT!"

Jenny decided it was time to chip in "Girls, Alec and Christopher are at the door, come on, they've brought a friend as well, aren't we being spoilt?"

They were at the night club for at least two hours before Shelagh would even walk to the bar alone, but she decided to, after all, Trixie was too invested with Chris and Jenny was no where to be seen, well, saying that, nor was Alec. As Shelagh approached the bar she saw a man, sitting rather solemnly, alone. She didn't dare say anything, she didn't want him to find her weird, or invasive.

"Can I have a blue WKD please"

The man alone at the bar piped up, "I'll have a beer, put hers onto mine"

Shelagh felt slightly awkward, is this just what people do at night clubs? Was this him saying he liked her? Is it just a friend thing? She had sooo many questions!

"You don't have to do that" She could feel her cheeks burning a bright shade of red

"Why wouldn't I? For someone as pretty as you" He gave a quite cheeky grin back.

Shelagh moved one, maybe two steps closer to the man, he stood up letting her take the bar stool he was on moments before.

"I'm Patrick by the way, but my friends call me Pat, so please, call me that" After a split second of laughter, caused by his bold choice in already calling her a friend Shelagh replied introducing herself in a, not so straight forward manor

"I'm Shelagh, yep, that's it, Shelagh, there isn't many nicknames for Shelagh, I mean, I guess, Sheels but that's what my brother calls me, please don't call me that, I'm not, erm, trying to tell you what to do or anything it's just, yeah, just Shelagh, Shelagh will be fine" she made him laugh at least, "Sorry, I took you around all the houses getting to that point"

"Soooo… plain Shelagh who doesn't like to be called Sheels cause that's what her brother calls her, what are you doing here may I ask?" Patrick found her whole statement rather amusing

"My friends brought me, they said I needed to liven up a bit, and well, meet someone that I wouldn't mind introducing to my family I suppose"

"My friends had a similar approach, but they've just left me here, so I thought I may as well enjoy myself"

"Too right"

Hours of talking passed by and Shelagh chose to make a choice, that would either ruin everything or it would set things clear and straight. She slowly moved closer and closer until she was barely two inches away from his face, she gently put her hand to his cheek. She loosely wrapped her other arm around the back on his neck and pulled him into a kiss. Being just as attracted to her as she was to him, he didn't hesitate in making the kiss deeper, and almost into snog. Shelagh pulled slightly back, keeping her face only inches away from his nevertheless.

"Sorry" She said quietly, hoping she hadn't stepped out of line or made him embarrassed. He never even said if he was single, what if she'd just made him cheat? "Please tell me you aren't with anyone" The nervousness began to build up inside of her, hoping he replied with the answer she wanted but petrified he would reply in the exact opposite. To her relief he shook his head then followed it by a quick 'no'.

Following that, she grabbed his arm and whisked him away, for a night he wouldn't forget in a hurry!
