All The Time In The Universe

Mobius M. Mobius was seated comfortably on a rock, his feet dangling just inches above the pond below. Loki sat on the grass along the side of the rock, his back propped up against it. He absentmindedly twirled one of his daggers around in his fingers, while Mobius silently looked through one of his jet ski magazines. A tree hung over them, enveloping them in shade, warding off the heat of the summer. An occasional flash of silver beneath the surface of the calm water would catch the attention of one or the other, and they'd peer at the graceful forms of fish as the scaly creatures swam about.

Through the trees, maybe half a mile away, was a small cabin- the place the pair was staying for the time being. There was nothing wrong with it, but Mobius enjoyed being by the water, and Loki knew the man would never be able to defend himself if something were to happen. Though Mobius secretly knew that the god just enjoyed being around him too much, even if he'd never admit it even to himself.

It was peaceful there, unlike in the TVA, where they'd escaped from perhaps a week ago. Mobius, who'd studied his companion's whole life, had never seen Loki so at ease, even if there was a knife in his grasp.

"Mobius?" Out of the corner of his eye, Mobius could see Loki craning his head to look up at him.

He gave a thoughtful hum in response.

"How long will we stay here? It's already been a week." The god seemed to be attempting to sound uninterested, but his friend saw through it.

"As long as we need, for now. We don't have to leave yet."

"What makes you think that I want to stay here?"

"The fact that you're trying to act like you don't want to." Mobius pointed out, lips quirking in fond amusement of everything he knew about the other.

He could almost hear the scowl on the god's face. "The way you see through me is honestly rather impressive."

"Yeah, well, someone has to keep you in line, right?" He set the magazine on his lap, face down, then glanced down at his friend.

Loki feigned an offended glare, though there was a grin in his eyes. "I suppose."

"But, yeah, this place is totally off the grid." Mobius assured him. "I don't think anyone'll find us here- not for a long time, anyway.

His friend tipped a grateful nod up at him. "...Thank you, Mobius."
