Welcome to another R&R fic! Don't worry - What About Now hasn't been abandoned, I'm just trying to fit all my thought into a sensible chapter! In the meantime, this little gem has appeared in my brain so have a read and let me know what you think!
Blaine looked down at the piece of paper in his shaking hands. He re-read the words again and again as if trying to make them morph into something else.
Positive
How could he have been so stupid! The paper fluttered to the floor as Blaine's head dropped into his hands and sobs racked his body.

Kurt hurried through the crowded city streets gripping his messenger bag tightly as he tried to make it to the subway stop in time. If he made it then he'd be home and in a bath within 45 minutes and right now that sounded like heaven! As stylish as his shoes were they were hell on his feet and his toes really needed their freedom! Kurt raced down the steps and pushed his way towards the waiting train, mentally cheering as he made it through the doors right before they closed.
As he gripped the metal pole his phone rang in his pocket alerting him to a new message. Kurt groaned softly before pulling out his phone and reading the email from his assistant. Why she insisted on emailing him about every little change to his schedule instead of just updating his calendar he'd never understand. A few taps and he'd updated his calendar and muted his notifications. He was determined to relax this evening!
Not even the out of order elevator in his apartment building could keep him from his goal. Kurt mentally went through the bath bombs he had left and tried to decide which one he'd toss into the warm water. Rummaging in his bag for his keys he ignored the phone vibrating in his pocket.
3 minutes ahead of schedule, Kurt was lying in a warm pool of eucalyptus scented water letting the cares of the day dissolve around him.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
It had been 4 days since Blaine got his results and it had been 4 days since he'd been kicked out of his apartment. His parents words still echoed around his head. Disgusting. Useless. Disappointment. Those were the only ones he'd heard before the punch connected with his jaw and rattled his thoughts.
He'd hoped that calling his parents and telling them what had happened would somehow result in them realising they loved their son. God, he really was an idiot if he thought this was going to change their opinion of him. He hadn't honestly expected family hugs and declarations of love but he hadn't expected to be disowned either.
Blaine flinched a little as he remembered his fathers face twisted with rage and disgust. He'd disowned Blaine on the spot, allowed him just 10 minutes to pack a bag and get out. And he'd timed it too! Luckily he'd remembered to grab his phone and charger along with some clothes but now as he sat on a bench in Central Park he realised he had nowhere to go. Blaine had tried to book a hotel room but his credit cards had been declined. The same thing happened with his ATM cards too. When Brian Anderson cut someone off he really did cut them off. Blaine scrolled through his phone trying to build up the strength to contact someone - anyone! But he didn't have many friends and those he did have, well he didn't know how they'd feel about the reason he'd been disowned by his own parents. Just admitting that was hard enough.
As he scrolled down the relatively short list of names amongst the takeout places he frequented, one name stood out. Blaine inhaled deeply and called it.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Kurt groaned as his phone rang. Okay so he was already out of the bath and dried but that didn't mean he wanted to deal with any more calls from his idiot assistant.
"What do you want now?" He snapped, resting his phone between his ear and shoulder as he finished pulling his pyjamas bottoms up.
"Hi Kurt." The voice in the end of the line was quiet but so familiar.
"Blaine? Hi! How are you? I haven't heard from you in months! Still taking NYU by storm I hope!" Kurt smiled when he realised it was his ex-boyfriend rather than his soon-to-be-ex-assistant.
"Um, I..." Blaine tried to swallow a sob, not even knowing how or where to start.
"Blaine? What's wrong? Are you hurt?"
"No, I... I don't know." The dam broke and Blaine's tears fell freely as he struggled for breath.
"Where are you!" Kurt demanded, just about understanding Blaine's response. "Don't move."
It was just a 15 minute walk from Kurt's apartment building to where Blaine was huddled on a bench but it felt like longer as Kurt hurried to his friend. Sure they may not be dating anymore but Blaine would always hold a special place in Kurt's heart. The heart which stopped when Kurt's eyes finally landed on the shivering, sobbing shape of Blaine.
Kurt ran over to him wrapping his arms around the younger man holding him tightly. Blaine initially tensed at the body enveloping him but relaxed when he realised who it was. Kurt grabbed hold of Blaine's bag and supported the body beside him as he led Blaine back to his apartment.
Blaine let himself be guided up the stairs and into the warm apartment as Kurt pulled his jacket off and hung it up beside his own. Neither said a word until they were cuddled beside each other on the couch under one of Kurt's thick blankets.
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Kurt asked softly, his fingers gently running through Blaine's dark curls.
"My parents disowned me. Dad flew to New York to kick me out of the apartment. He cancelled all my cards. I didn't know what to do." Blaine buried his head into Kurt's shoulders as another wave of tears flowed through him.
"That bastard! Is this because you're gay? He's known for years! Why did he suddenly choose now to prove how much of a dick he is?!" Kurt exclaimed, his anger palpable as Blaine took a deep breath and sat up, moving away from Kurt and looking down at his own hands.
"There's something I need to tell you."
What's Blaines big secret and will Kurt kick him out too? Review and let me know what you think and if you want to hear more.
