Hello again! I got a couple of comments saying how my writing seems different. It is! It's been a year since I've written a chapter for this story, but I wrote quite a few other stories, so my writing has evolved. So far, I think it's been an improvement lol, please bear with me with the slightly different style. Also, thank you for all the compliments on my previously on from the last chapter! I've never written a recap so that was really fun. As always, enjoy!

Lance loved Hunk, really, he did, but he could not for the life of him care about what he was currently rambling on about. While Hunk had busied himself with munching on his lunch and talking about his upcoming bakery orders, Lance had resigned himself to stabbing his burger with one of his fries while occasionally humming to "prove he is most definitely paying attention." In reality, Lance's mind was completely preoccupied with trying to figure out what was going on with Adam and Curtis. One half of his mind was telling him that it was nothing, that he was worrying over nothing and that he was just being paranoid. The other half of his mind had blaring alarm bells that were starting to give him a headache.

"Lance, you gotta eat, buddy." Hunk said as he nudged him with his foot underneath the table. "Don't tell me you're sulking because you didn't get that red-headed guy's number at the graduation party."

"You have no proof of that." Lance pointed a fry at him in an attempt to be intimidating. He wasn't going to bother trying to dissuade Hunk's thinking, he needed some kind of excuse for his behavior after all.

"This is not the first time I've seen you sulk over a guy, Lancelot. I have all the proof!" Lance gave him a look at Hunk's chosen nickname. He didn't hate it, but it always reminded him of his youth where the other children in his school would make fun of his name. It was Hunk who told him the story of Camelot and introduced him to the mighty Lancelot, Knight of the Round Table who fought with King Arthur and the wizard Merlin. Ever since that day, Lance was proud of his unique name, but that didn't mean he wouldn't give Hunk a hard time every time he used it. Hunk, on the other hand, was looking at him with a smug smile, he knows what he did.

"You witnessing my past behavior does not count as evidence!" Lance yelled at him and threw the fry across the table.

"Hey!" Hunk also yelled, quickly snatching the fry out of midair, "We don't waste good food!" Lance rolled his eyes as Hunk promptly stuffed the fry in his mouth and hummed excessively to show its good taste.

"Now, you eat too! You're going to need your strength for this next one." Lance gave him a suspicious look, but when Hunk put a finger over his lips and shook his head, he knew it would be pointless to even attempt to get answers out of him.

"Let's move it along people!" A police sergeant yelled as everyone scrambled about. Detective Shirogane had just called in to dispatch to relay the event he had just witness, but he also called some other officers in the precinct in hopes to keep everyone informed and speed the process along. No one could believe the fact that one of the vigilantes had smashed through the side of wall of a factory building, looked beat to hell, and fled the scene in an unmarked car. What was even crazier, were the stairs that descended down, deep underneath the city.

Multiple precincts were called to help, swat was being organized, work dogs were rolling in- there was so much going on it was hard to focus as everyone ran around trying to gather their gear. Before long, the sergeant was walking towards Shiro who was still on the scene.

"You and I need to have a long conversation about this, but I agree with your call to dispatch, time is of the essence. Anything else you need to say before we go in?" He asked the detective.

"No, sir."

"Alright, Alpha Team! Let's go!" He called to the premade teams behind him. The team in question formed around him and shined their lights into the darkness of the steps.

At a nod from the sergeant, the team started moving forward. There were tunnels that broke off in multiple directions, but with the help of Shiro's explanation of the past events, they were able to follow what they believed to be the same route the vigilante had taken to make it to the surface. It was slow going as the team carefully retraced the steps, they made sure to peek around the corners and cover their backs.

Shiro glanced around, there was debris everywhere that didn't seem to fit the ambiance of the tunnels. Why would someone so carefully construct these tunnels in pure secret, but leave debris all over the place? He walked as the team of skilled police offers around him carefully shifted around the piles that littered the floor. It certainly wasn't convenient. Shiro tapped the sergeant in front of him to gain his attention.

"I think there was a collapse somewhere." He stated when he received a hum.

"Really? What makes you think that?"

"Look around you. These tunnels were clearly designed to be able to move around the city secretly and easily, but right now? It's a hassle to get through them. There had to be a collapse somewhere that weakened the integrity of the walls." The sergeant signaled for the team to stop and more closely examined his surrounds, his detective might just be on to something.

"Should we turn back? Get the firefighters in here to stabilize it?" One of the squad leaders asked.

"No, we don't have the time. Keep leaving markers to make it easier to find our way back and keep pressing on. We need to what's going on. It seems stable enough, be careful, the firefighters can come in behind us once they arrive on the scene." The sergeant ordered. Everyone on the team took a deep breath to firm their resolve, the knew the risks before they entered, and there was no way they would back out now.

Shiro wondered how long this tunnel went on before it would open up. How long had the vigilante been running? How badly hurt was he? Was he in the right, or was he up to something he shouldn't have been? Who else is down here?

His head spun as more questions than answers swirled around inside his brain, but one persisted more than the others. Is the vigilante okay?

Adam groaned as he felt his shoulder hit the side of the car door as Curtis rounded another corner.

"I know man, hang in there, we're almost there." He tried the comfort the man still hunched over in the passenger seat. Curtis ran a hand down his spine to try and check for injuries, he wasn't too concerned about it since Adam was able to hunch over without causing himself more pain. No, what Curtis was worried about were the internal injuries that he couldn't see or feel in Adam's current position, but he didn't dare move the man at the moment.

From the little he was able to get out of him, Curtis knew it was mostly blunt force trauma that was causing Adam's pain and something about a flying arm? Was he delusion too?

Since Adam was so focused on not passing out, he didn't notice the private conversation between the other two men.

"I don't wanna call him. Not yet." Matt stated in his ear with only a little fear in his voice.

"Why not? He should be here for this!" Curtis argued.

"What are we going to say? Huh? That Winger decided to do something stupid, we let him, and now he's hurt so get your ass here? He can't help! Lance isn't trained medically, he only knows the basics, and he's finally starting to improve mentally. I won't let him walk in here like this!" Matt yelled.

"We can't lie to him just because we want to protect him! Besides, Adam asked for him!"

"He doesn't want that, and you know it! He's hurt, and he wants comfort, so of course he thinks of Lance! He'll regret in once it actually happens, so I say we wait." Curtis huffed at him but didn't retaliate. His medical mind was kicking in. He needed to do what was best for his patient, and right now, that didn't involve fighting for Lance to be there.

"Fine! Get ready, we'll be there soon."

"Waitin' on you."

Allura realized she chose the absolute worst time to visit her father as soon as she walked in the door and saw all the hustle and bustle. She hugged the wall and did her best to remain out of their way as the officers ran around. What could possibly be causing this? She thought.

"Allura?" A deep voice called, cutting through her thoughts.

"Father!"

"Stay there!" Chief Alfor used his size and rank to power through the crowds and push his way across the precinct to stand next to his daughter. "Is everything alright?"

"I should really be asking you that! I was just going to say hi." She informed him as he engulfed her in a hug.

"There's a bit of a situation I'm afraid. I'll come stop by later when I can." Allura nodded and allowed the chief to walk her outside to ensure she didn't get trampled.

"Good luck with everything, Father!" She called at his retreating form. Allura spun on her heel and made her way across the street and back to the Space Goo Bakery. She glanced over her shoulder after she crossed the street, she had the weirdest feeling that someone was watching her.

After a quick look around, Allura shook her head. She was just paranoid since something was happening with her father. It wasn't unusual for her to be a little anxious whenever a situation arose that involved a heavy police presence. Most of her friends were officers after all.

Allura signed as she entered the entered the Bakery and the pleasant smell of pastries filled her nose, and the warmth of the ovens blew through her. She took a second to wave at the young woman who was manning the cash register before she retreated back into the kitchen to continue her work.

"Did you hear that?" A man asked his slightly taller partner.

"Huh, 'Father,' is it? The boss'll love this" The taller said with a sinister grin.

"What should we do about our original plan?"

"Forget it, they'll be other opportunities, but this? Oh, it's not every day you find out where the police chief's daughter likes to hang out." He cackled a bit as he watched the women cross the street and enter the bakery that was there.

"I've only seen her at heavily protected functions. Guess the Chief doesn't get out all the much to do things with her. Poor girl." The shorter started to take a step to follow the woman, but his partner grabbed his shoulder.

"Not yet." He said giving him a sharp look, "Now that we found her, we can use her as leverage. We don't want anything to happen to her prematurely, now do we?" He ascended his question but tightening his grip on the other's shoulder to made sure his point came across.

"Of course not, sir. Let's go report this to the boss." To his credit, the man only winced slightly as he spoke and resisted the urge to try and wiggle out of the grip. He knew that would just end up making it worse.

"Very good." The more senior of the two commented at his actions and released him so he could stretch up to his full height. "Let's go to the boss."
