A/N: Hey everyone! With school starting back up again, updates might be pretty slow. I'll try to update as much as I can, Let me know if you have any ideas or feedback! Love y'all so much!
For once, I woke up feeling well-rested. I looked around the hospital room for some way to tell the time. Then I saw it, my phone resting neatly on a chair on the other side of the room. I removed the IV and the other wiring I was plugged into, and I hopped off the bed to get my phone. I looked at the time. 5:45 AM. I sigh. It's s so early, but I don't think I can sleep anymore. It seems like that's all I've been doing. I grabbed my phone and looked around the room to find a door straight across from the bed. I opened the door and saw multiple hallways. There was a soft hum the permeated the whole building.
I walked around blindly until I came to this odd room. It was a wide-open space with a gold hue. There were these strange-looking circles on the walls. In the middle of the room, there was what looked to be some sort of control panel with various different buttons, levers, and knobs. And standing right in the center of the room fiddling with some of the gadgets on the control panel was Mr. Smi- I mean The Doctor. He looked up from what he was doing and noticed me.
"Hello Crystal!" He said with a big grin. "Sleep well?"
"Yeah, I did! Best sleep I've had in a while. Thanks for asking." I said, returning his smile.
"Brilliant! However, I should let you know that although your concussion is almost completely healed, you'll still want to take it easy for a few days." I nodded
"Okay, I will." He puts a finger up and continues.
"You have bruises all over your body. Including your eye, wrists, hands, abdomen, inner thigh, and neck." His eyes had gone from looking cheerful and happy to looking sorrowful and serious.
He went on, "The top of your head is covered with dreadful scabs, you have a wound on your right arm that's mildly infected, and you are extremely dehydrated and malnourished." I looked down, feeling very unconscious and exposed.
There was this raw tension in the room that you could cut with a knife. I looked up, and my gaze met The Doctor's. His eyes softened, and he clapped his hands together.
"So, because of that, let's make you something to eat!" He said as he started heading down the stairs. I was thankful he dropped the topic and moved on. I didn't want to take the time and energy to try to explain it and relive it.
"Sure, but before we do that. I have a question." The Doctor stopped dead in his tracks and turned towards me.
"Go on, ask away."
"Where are we?" The Doctor grinned wide.
"You're in my TARDIS." I looked at him weirdly.
"Your what?"
"My TARDIS. It stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space." I looked at him as if he were crazy, and I raised a brow.
"So you're telling me that we're in a spaceship?" He nods.
"Precisely!" he said, his grin widening. I started laughing.
"You can't be serious! Are you crazy or something?" He walked over to the front door and opened it.
"Don't believe me? Take a look and see for yourself." I slowly walked over to the open door, and what I saw made my jaw drop. We were in space! In actual space! Flying just above the earth.
"Oh my goodness! We're in space! I can't believe it!"
He just looked at me with a wide grin and said, "I told you so."
"But, how are we breathing?" I asked
"The TARDIS puts up an oxygen shield. Keeps all the air in."
"Wow!" I say in amazement, "this is just incredible!" I sat down in the doorway, my feet hanging out the open door. The Doctor comes over and takes a seat right next to me.
"I know, right? I never get tired of this." I turned to him and looked him in the eyes. They were so old and filled with tragedy, wonder, and sorrow. I looked at him, my face scrunched with curiosity.
"Who are you, Doctor? You show up out of basically nowhere, and you own a spaceship." He turned and looked me in the eye.
"I'm an alien called a Time Lord."
"Wait, wait, wait," I said, waving him off. "You're telling me that you are an alien?" He nods.
"Precisely!"
"You don't look like an alien. I'd imagine aliens being green and slimy with big eyes and tentacles." I say, looking up and down, inspecting him to see if there was anything about him that was misshaped or alien.
"Oh no! Well, not for the most part. Some of them do, but a lot of aliens look like you. Human." He said, staring at the void of space outside the doors of the TARDIS. After a few minutes of taking in the beautiful sight before us, The Doctor suddenly stood up and walked back to the middle of the room where the control panel was and started pressing random buttons. I stood up as well and walked over to where The Doctor.
"Doctor, what are you doing?" I ask as he runs over and shuts the door to the TARDIS.
"I'm going to show you something magnificent!" He said as he ran over to the control panel and pulled a large lever. The whole room began to shake, and I held on tight to a metal bar that was placed on the edge of the room. When the room was finally done shaking, The Doctor laughed and grabbed a brown trench coat placed neatly on a chair.
"You're going to love this," He said with a grin.
Let me know of any adventures you think The Doctor and Crystal should have together! I'm thinking maybe ancient Greece, but I'm not sure!
