Chapter 3
It's been a week since the party and it's been a long week. Sitting at my house, watching a movie, there's a knock on my door. I look through the peephole and see my ex, Mack standing there. I go to walk away and I hear him "I know you're there Gina. Just open the door and talk to me." he says. I open the door and step outside. "What do you need, Mack?" I ask. "Heard you been fucking around." he states. "What I do isn't your business anymore." I tell him and go to head back inside and he grabs my arm. "Heard it's a Mayan. You letting all of them fuck you? Still nothing but a worthless whore." he says and I stop but don't turn towards him. "You know I'm right. Hell that's the only thing you're good for is a fuck. No one wants a fat whore." he tells me. "You should leave." he says before I walk into my house and lock the door, sliding down to the floor sobbing.
I don't leave the house other than work for the next week. Sitting on the couch, my phone rings. I let it go to voicemail. Then a text comes through.
Dana: Are you okay? You've not answered your phone all week.
Gina: I'm good.
Dana: Come hang out. We're going to the clubhouse.
Gina: I'm good.
Dana looks at her phone and then to Creeper. "Something's wrong. She always answers and she's not answered all week and now all she'll say is she's good. She's not." Creeper looks at her and asks "Think we should go check on her?" Before she asks, EZ asks "Check on who?" They look at him and Dana says "Gina. She's not acting like herself. Something's up." He looks concerned. "I'll go check on her. I'll check in." he says before walking to his bike.
I'm sitting on the couch still and can't stop crying. He's right. Nothing but a worthless whore. Won't ever be more than that. I hear a bike pull up and look through the blinds and see EZ getting off his bike. I stand and walk to the door and open it and walk outside before he can get up the steps. "Hey." he says. "Hey." I say back. "You okay?" he asks. "Yep. I'm good. You need something?" I ask. "Wanted to check on you. Dana's worried about you and seeing you now, I am too." he tells me. "Nothing to worry about. You should head back to the clubhouse." I tell him before turning towards the door. "What happened?" he asks and I stop. "Nothing for you to worry about." I say before opening the door and closing it behind me, leaving him standing there. I lock the door and turn off the lights and head to my room. EZ picks up his phone and calls Creeper. "Hey man." Creeper says. "Something's not right. She looks sad and wouldn't look at me. I asked what happened and she told me nothing to worry about. She's inside with the lights out. Think I might camp out here and keep an eye on things." he says. "Good idea. Keep us posted." Creeper says.
I get up the next morning and get ready for work. Walking outside, I see EZ sitting on my steps. He stands up when I open the door. "What are you doing here?" I ask. Looking at how tired he looks and I ask "Did you sit out here all night?" He nods and I ask "Why?" as I walk off the steps and to my car. "I was worried about you." he tells me. "Nothing for you to worry about." I tell him again. "Yeah, you keep saying that but I don't believe you." he tells me. "Doesn't matter if you believe me or not. You should go." I tell him before getting into my car and heading to work.
EZ is still standing there when my neighbor comes around the corner. "You her boyfriend?" she asks. EZ nods. "She had a visitor about a week ago. He was telling her some horrible things." she says. She's an elderly lady and he asks "What was he telling her?" She shakes her head and says "Calling her a worthless whore and calling her fat. Such a horrible thing for a sweet girl like her to hear." she says. "Do you know what time she gets home?" EZ asks. "She gets home about half past five." she says. "Thank you. I'll be back then. I'll take care of her." he says. "Good." the neighbor says before heading back to her house.
