Chapter 1
"It's getting cold, hopefully the snow let's up soon" said Miles. He was right; it had been snowing since we'd left the restaurant a half-hour ago.
Snow. In Canada. In December. Odd right?
"Oh toughen up." I said. Because, it wasn't actually all that cold. I turned to him, while giving him a look that obviously said that I wasn't impressed. A few years ago, I wouldn't have dared give him that look, but after 3 years of interesting incidences, and living together, it wasn't hard.
"You know she's right! It's not even that cold out!" Jessica sang, causing Miles to stick his tongue out at her to which she replied with rolling her eyes then crossing her arms then sticking out her bottom lip in a pout.
What? Just because you're 19 and 20 doesn't mean you have to actually act your age. I just rolled my eyes at my friends while chuckling to myself. We really were a weird bunch. Then without even a slight warning or anything as my group rounded a corner we ran into another group, except this was a group of all boys. The next thing I knew I was laying on the floor, while rubbing my forehead from where it had hit something. I frowned as I looked up from the ground, sitting in front of me also rubbing his forehead was a guy around my age with longish blonde hair and violet eyes, and I guess we had ran into each other before we had fallen. I looked next to me where Jessica was laying in front of a very tall person with slicked back blonde hair and very blue eyes, she was rubbing her back so I could only suspect that she had ran into him… How the guy could stay standing is a mystery. Then I looked behind the tall blonde to find a young man with brownish red hair with a stray curl sticking off his head rubbing his head as he too say on the ground. I frowned, how in the world could he fall? He was walking behind the tall guy. I shook my head then kept looking around Miles, Justin, and Francis; all of the rest of my friends were standing up, along with another group of boys, almost all who had managed to stay standing during the collision. I counted everyone; they're about nine of them in total. Then something occurred to me. I looked back over to my friends; everyone was there except for-
"Eep!" I whipped my head around just in time to see Harper under neat a man with very long blonde hair, which had his arms by Harpers head to stop him from crushing her.
"Oh, Bonjour mademoiselle-"Before the man, who I believed to be French, could continue he was cut off by a new voice from their group.
"Get off of her you bloody frog!" The next thing I knew another blonde man, this time with crazy eyebrows, appeared and grabbed the French man by the back of the shirt and pulled him up. Harper sat up then shook her head causing her dirty blonde hair to fly around her; she looked at the man with the weird eyebrows and smiled.
"Thanks! Uh, I don't think I caught your name." The man who I had concluded to be British looked away from the French man he was glaring at then smiled at Harper.
"I am En-"He paused before sending a quick look behind him to the rest of his group. "My name is Arthur." He said then held out a hand for Harper to take. Harper grabbed his hand then smiled at him as he helped her to her feet. I heard shuffling coming from in front of me. I turned around in time to see a hand appear in front of my face, that's when I remembered I was still sitting on the ground. I grabbed the hand and was finally helped to my feet. When I looked up I noticed it was the guy that I had run into before.
"Um I'm really, uh, sorry for running into you like that." He said in a voice that was barely above a whisper. "Oh. I'm Matthew by the way." I smiled then looked back towards my left where Jessica was still sitting on the ground in front of the blonde guy who was trying to help the other guy up that was behind him. Jessica pouted then turned towards Miles who was standing off to the side with his hands in his pockets just looking around.
"Miles! Help me up!" Miles just looked at her then raised an eyebrow. Jessica sighed. "Please." She grumbled. Miles just shrugged then made his way over to her then helped her to her feet. I smiled, now with everybody on their own feet we could finally figure out whom the rest of these people are… they all seemed oddly familiar. Miles was obviously thinking the same thing because he turned around to the other group that was facing us then frowned.
"Who're you?" he asked in a voice that wasn't exactly the nicest it could have been. I frowned then gave him a light smack on the shoulder.
"Miles no need to be mean! Why don't we introduce ourselves then they can introduce themselves." When no one seemed to argue I decided to tell them who I was first. "Well I'm Arielle." I looked at Harper who smiled happily.
"And I'm Harper."
"Justin."
"Francis."
"And I'm Jessica!" Jessica finished with a smile. "So who are you guys?"
The tall blonde spoke first.
"I am Ludwig." He gestured to the man he was helping up before. "And this is Feliciano." Feliciano smiled then threw his arm around another man who looked a lot like him… except his curl was on the opposite side and he was frowning grumpily.
"And this is my Fratello Lovino!" He explained as his, I'm suspecting that was his brother, brother mumbled something under his breath about being able to introduce himself. Next was the British man again.
"And as you know I am Arthur." He repeated. Next was a new guy, again with blonde hair, but this time with an odd looking cowlick thing on the front of his head.
"And I am the hero! Also known as Am-"Arthur cut him off with a quick smack to the back of the head and a glare. The self-proclaimed "hero" rolled his eyes but started again. "I mean my name is Alfred! And this," he threw his arms around the guy who had ran into me. "Is my twin brother Matthew!" Matthew just smiled and gave a tiny wave. Next to speak was a very creepy looking tall guy with an extremely thick scarf wrapped around his neck while he was wearing what appeared to be a trench coat.
"And I am Ivan. Da?" I didn't really understand the whole 'da' thing at the end but the creepy smile that he gave us sent chills down my spine. The next thing I knew I heard a mix of three very odd sounding laughs, so I turned my head a little to the right to see what it was. What I saw were the last three guys with their arms around each other shoulders as they formed a line and were causing the weird laugh thing. First to speak was a guy that I hadn't noticed until now; he had very red eyes and white, almost silver hair to go with it, he was standing in the middle with the other two on either side of him.
"And I am the awesome Gilbert!" Next to speak was the French man that was previously pinning Harper to the ground.
"I am Francis; it is lovely to meet you all." He said while trying to wink at all of the girls. Last to introduce themselves was the guy on the opposite end of the line.
"I am Antonio." I chuckled slightly at the very odd introduction but frowned as I looked around. I guess the snow had really started to pick up while we were talking because now I was having trouble seeing more than five feet in front of me while the wind was whipping the snow around only causing everything to seem worse.
"Well do you guys have anywhere to stay; it would be horrible to leave you out in the weather like this." Jessica exclaimed as she pulled her jacket closer to her body.
"Well we were going to stay at a hotel a little while away but someone forgot to book the rooms…" Ludwig explained while sending a glare at Alfred who just shrugged in response.
"Well why don't you guys stay at our place! We've got plenty of space for you guys!" Harper perked up from beside Jessica who was nodding in agreement. The other group only nodded then began to follow us in the direction we had been heading in back to our apartment, probably desperate for somewhere warm to stay, even if it was just for a little while.
…
After about half an hour of walking we finally all made it to our apartment, well Harper Jessica and I's apartment. The boys lived upstairs. Harper smiled before throwing off her boots and coat then walking into the kitchen.
"I'll make something hot for us to drink!" She yelled over her shoulder. Miles chuckled as he closed the door.
"I'll help!" He exclaimed before throwing his stuff at the closet, only to have it land on poor unsuspecting Feliciano.
"Ve! Doitsu help!" I gasped then dropped my coat I had previously been carrying. Jessica looked at me with raised eyebrows before realisation slowly dawned on her, causing her to gasp as well.
So that's why they seemed so familiar! THESE WERE THE ACTUAL HETALIA CARACHTERS! I smiled then began jumping up and down a little on my feet. I smiled at Jessica as everyone just gave us odd looks then made the way down the small hallway and into the living room.
"Arielle those are!"
"I know! But how?"
"I have no idea… did we?"
"I don't think we did…" Jessica shrugged but smiled none the less then made her way down the hall and into the huge living room. Not before turning to look at me over her shoulder and smirking a little.
"Well let's find out."
When I finally caught up to her in the living room Jessica was standing in front of everyone on my left as they looked at her from ever different corner of the room, Jessica smiled at me then pointed at Ludwig.
"Germany." She looked at me then gestured towards the group as Germany just gave her a look of pure shock. I smiled; this was one way to tell them how we knew who they were. I pointed at Matthew next.
"Canada."
"America."
"England."
"Prussia."
"France."
"Spain."
"North Italy."
"South Italy or Romano."
"Russia." We both listed off their country names while pointing at them in turn. England was the first to recover from his shock enough to at least talk a little.
"H-how do you know that!" I smiled a little then looked at Jessica who was smiling as well. We had given the 'In our world you're really a book character.' Speech so much we had actually managed to memorize it. I smiled then decided to begin.
"Well you see…"
…
It took about an hour to finally finish our speech and answer all of the questions that had come up, but finally everyone seemed to understand what was going on. Germany was the first one to talk as everyone else just sipped on the hot chocolate Harper had brought in about ten minutes into the speech.
"Well now that you know who we are, what are we going to do? We still have to find somewhere to stay for however long we'll be here." Harper Jessica and I looked at each other then jumped to our feet.
"You can stay here!" We exclaimed at the same time. Everyone looked at us skeptically.
"Do you really think that's a good idea? I mean you don't seem to have that much space…" Ludwig brought up while looking around or apartment. It was nowhere near being small, but he did have a point, all of us wouldn't fit.
"Oh I have an idea! Half of you guys can sleep here, half in the guy's room!" Jessica exclaimed while looking at Miles who just shrugged then nodded. The countries looked between one another then eventually they all started to nod in agreement.
"Ok! Now for planning on who goes where." Harper said with a smile on her face as she pulled out a pad of paper and a pen from the small drawer in the coffee table she had taken a seat at. "Well Spain, France and Prussia will stay together along with the Italy brothers… they can stay at our place!" everyone looked at her as if she was crazy but Harper only continued with her planning, and knowing Harper no one will be able to change where they were going to sleep, she could be very stubborn when she wanted to… "And I guess that leaves England the North American twins Russia and Germany to sleep at the guy's place! No arguments? Perfect!" I chuckled slightly as Harper completely ignored the hands that shot into the air in protest. I looked over at the clock then frowned, it was already 12:00. I turned back to everyone and smiled.
"Well I guess you guys should head over to your room and get to sleep, it's getting pretty late." Miles nodded in agreement then stood up, followed closely by Francis, Justin and the countries that he was taking to his room. After they had all left Jessica smiled then stood up.
"Well we'll go get you some blankets, I hope it's okay if you sleep in the living room, our other rooms are a mess, so this is the only open one." Everyone shrugged obviously too tired to complain. "Awesome! We'll be right back! Oh and everyone stay here okay?" Everyone nodded so Jessica Harper and I stood up to go hunt down blankets for them all. When we finally reached the hallway we heard a small crash! Followed closely by a string of very colourful language from someone and rapid apologising from another. I chuckled to myself as we finally reached another room filled with boxes… What in the world have we gotten ourselves into?
