Bella's Point of View
It was a few seconds to twelve, I thought franticly as I ran through the square. "Edward no!" I was screaming at the top of my lungs to get him to hear me, but he couldn't. I reasoned he couldn't see me either… unless he just thought it was wishful thinking. I heard the bell toll and I launched myself at Edward without a second thought. When I hit him, the impact made my skin sting. It hurt a lot, but the adrenaline coursing through my veins pushed the pain to the back of my mind.
I needed to get Edward out of the sun, or he would reveal himself. I barely understood his words "amazing, Carlisle was right" I had a one-track mind get him out of the sun. "You need to get out of the sunlight!" He didn't move at my words. He just held me tight, breathing in my scent. In any other situation I would have gladly fell into his strong arms and hoped to stay there for eternity; but I had to get him out of the sun.
"I'm here Edward! I'm alive, please! You have to move out of the sunlight!" The bell tolled once more before he retreated to the surrounding shadows. It was then that I realized the closeness between us. Really recognized it. It was intoxicating, being denied this for so many months it was like a hit to the face. You couldn't not notice it.
I felt perfect in the moment before it shattered to a voice that must make angels jealous. "Edward you are to come with us." I turned to face the owner of the voice still in Edwards arms. The girl looked around twelve to thirteen and was escorted by two men. Nether under six feet tall, but one of them was a lot taller and had muscle like a tank on steroids. He made the other one look small in comparison and the child even smaller.
Her eyes were red though, I thought that even though she looked younger than me she was probably older. I caught Edwards face from the corner of my eye. He looked afraid and horrified. With submission he said what was probably the girls name "Jane." She seemed to find satisfaction in Edwards surrender. I vaguely noticed Alice join us, while I was in a whirlwind of thoughts.
Why was Edward giving up so easily? What was going to happen to us? What did the other vampires want? I was startled by Jane's voice again "come." She said before turning to leave with the two others following close behind. Edward urged me to follow them by pushing me forward slightly. My heart was beating rapidly in my chest, to the point I could hear it.
I half hoped I wasn't making myself seem more appetizing. As we followed Jane through the castle, I saw many paintings that used properties from Van Gou, Leonardo de Vinci, with others I couldn't identify that were probably from hundreds of different eras and painters. Still, the only thing I had eyes for was Edward. I was rememorizing his face, and by the small amount I knew him by it seemed he was doing the same for me. but no, I had to be wrong.
Edward left me; he didn't want me. The thought brought up terrible memories of the nights in forks how I would wake up screaming and how my cousin would comfort me.
"Bella! Bella are you okay?" I heard Rebecca say as I felt the cold sweat running down my body. My throught felt raw. Dazed, I looked up at my cousin. She had long black hair and piercing emerald eyes. I felt the pieces of the puzzle come together and I realized why I was covered with sweat, and why my throught was raw. I broke down crying remembering Edward leaving me in the forest, and the dreams where I would have him and then it would be taken away from me.
From the moment Rebecca moved in she always stayed by my side at night. Or at least it seemed like it. She was always there when I woke up by her hand. She would hold me for as long as I needed to fall asleep peacefully. It could be midnight or five A.M. apparently that didn't matter, because she was always there making sure Charlie would get some sleep.
I realized that I never really thanked her for getting up and comforting me during the night. I would have to thank her when I got back home. No, I corrected myself. If, if I got back home. Because as sad as it was. I might not survive this, and on a more depressing note Edward might not either. The thought of his death made me so sad and angry; and being human there was nothing I could do about it. Stupid weak human body!
I knew my death would devastate Charlie, and Rebecca as well. I might have only known her for a month or two, but I knew she cared about me. It would be hard on her. Jane opened a large set of double doors. The wood looked like oak and inside it was a huge and lavish room. In it there were three thrones, and in them sat three powerful vampires.

Aro's Point of View
"The masters sent you for one, and you bring back two and a half. Clever girl." I heard Alec say to Jane as she entered. She had been gone for quite some time. Definitely not the time she needed to take a vampire into custody and back to this room. Albeit a mind reading one. What I saw, however, when I looked at the group, yes group not a party of one surprised me. A human and two vampires. The human from what I gathered was Bella, Edward's human mate and the vampire was Alice, Edwards adoptive sister. A Phycic at that, both talents would make a nice addition to the coven. Yes, I thought this could work.
A scent entered my nose it distracted me from my train of thought. It came from the human, but not exactly from the human. The origin seemed to be from something the human Bella was wearing. I singled it out as the cloak. It was a very nice cloak actually. It was made with some patterns that weren't used commonly today. The sad part was that she seemed to completely disregard care for it.
"I brought them back alive master just as you asked." I honestly had to say I was glad for that. The scent on the cloak, it was definitely tempting to be around, but my bloodlust had not reacted. There's only one reason for this, a mate. Turning to Jane, I told her. "You're such a comfort to me." she smirked, I knew she loved my attention, as did Alec. I took Marcus's hand. It would definitely tell me if my guess was right, I saw through his eyes the bond that I had been looking for. The one between me and whomever the scent belonged to. It was a bright gold, a mate line. It was faint, but it was there. After years I would get to meet her, and Bella was the key.
I also noticed the bond between my mate and Bella. She was apparently very fond of Bella. The vampires didn't know her. Which could be why I didn't see her in Edwards memories. Marcus having seen the bonds himself. Knew very well what I was going to do, so thankfully I wouldn't be overruled by Caius. Sighed I would still have to deal with his anger later on.
Showtime
"Bella is alive after all! isn't that wonderful!" I said taking Edwards hand without his permission. One perk of being a king, you didn't have to ask. I saw the small blurry memories of when he was human and then those of his vampire years. It was interesting to watch him go through his rebellious stage and then going back to Carlisle. I slowed down at the more recent ones. Of course, I had seen most of them already, but I certainly wanted to know what he was thinking about during the past few hours.
Again, he still couldn't hear Bella. After reading him the first time I wondered if I would get to try my gift on her, and such a siren call. The blood of Bella for Edward. I may be able to see his every thought and memory, but it still escapes me why he wouldn't make a drink of her. "you thirst for her blood so much, how can you stand to be so close?" He considered his words carefully, and I knew that as I was still holding his hand. "As you can see it is not without difficulty". His loss, "I can see that Edward." His memories were a fairly good indication. "remembering her scent through your thoughts. It's enough to make me thirsty."
He growled too low for Bella to hear, but certainly enough for the others around me too. They started getting into a better position realizing Edward was the threat. I let go of his hand and asked him mentally if I could try my ability on Bella. Of course, it wasn't a request "ask her." He grudged out almost growling again. I tisked in my head oh Edward, you remind me so much of Carlisle. Except he was not so angry. looking at Bella I asked, "Bella would you do me the honor?"
She seemed to read the situation enough to realize it was not a request. Just as me asking Edward hadn't been. Edward nodded slightly that seemed to be enough, and she tentatively reached out her hand. She was so slow with it; my patience had long been used. I took her hand before it was half-way to me. I closed my eyes and focused. I couldn't hear or see anything. Intriguing, I felt somewhat saddened. I would have nothing to go on now meeting my mate. Unless I stocked her, which honestly, if necessary, I was not above that.
Deciding to focus on the matter at hand, Bella would definitely be a wonderful addition. Maybe held higher than Edward and Alice if she could pass another test. "Hmm, she confounds us all, Jane?" She looked at me smirking again. She didn't need to hear what I was about to say. She already knew what it was. Turning to Bella she was about to use her power when Edward stepped in front of it.
He was on the floor in obvious agony. Idiot, I had the feeling she would have been able to stand Jane's torture. I sighed Jane had gotten distracted as she wasn't stopping. "Jane?" She looked up from Edward and he started to get up. "Bella?" I said motioning towards her impatiently. She nodded quickly and turned to face Bella again.
This time Edward didn't intervene, and I watched interested in the spectacle before me. Bella wasn't in any pain. Jane looked frustrated, I had to stop her likely train of thought before Jane decided to have a snack. I clapped my hands to get everyone's attention, "ha! ha! ha! She confounds us all. What to do with you know?" I looked at Marcus. He had a knowing glint in his eyes. "You already know what you're going to do Aro." I nodded then looked at Caius, "she knows to much, she's a liability." I took a moment longer than necessary to turn around. Knowing that all hell was about to break loose.
"we're all in agreement then. Bella you must be changed within a year, failure to comply will result in your death." and I was correct Caius looked livid under his indifferent façade, "calm brother." Marcus said to him. Marcus really was a voice of reason in our time as kings. Though It didn't do much to help his anger. Now, I thought, now was the time to ask. I looked at Bella. "My dear, if you don't mind my asking. Where did you get that cloak?" She looked down blushed then looked at me. Her heartbeat picked up slightly.
"My cousin, she has an odd thing for them." Hmm, my mate liked cloaks and was Bella's cousin? Wonderful, I knew two things about my mate now. "yes, and where does you cousin live?" her heartbeat picked up a bit more. She afraid of the subject. "Forks, where I live." Very wonderful. Now, I knew where she was. "thank you Bella, you can leave, but please wait till nightfall. I must convene with my brothers." I turned to leave, my brothers following close behind.
Caius's Point of View
Calm brother, calm brother! Marcus had said, I was seething mad. Aro had completely disregarded what I thought. He had better have a good reason for this. Getting into the study I finally let out my anger. Hissing at him I said "ARO! DID YOU HEAR ANYTHING I SAID! SHE'S A LIABILITY THAT NEEDS TO BE DELT WITH!" He just replied calmly, "as I have Caius. Now, I have something important that needs to be said." I was about to growl at him, but Marcus put a hand on my shoulder and shock his head. Whatever this was they were both in on it. I decided to listen. Hopefully, this ties into Bella swans fate.
Aro explained it to me why he made his decision, I was wrong. I shouldn't have gotten angry I knew I would do anything for Dora. "I'm sorry brother, I completely misjudged the situation." He didn't hold a grudge, "all is forgiven Caius, you didn't know." A thought struck me then "you're going to forks. Aren't you?" He merely nodded "yes Caius I am, if you'll excuse me, I need to tell Corrin to prep the plane." He had started to leave the room before turning around. "oh, and Caius can you please tell the wives?"
I mentally huffed at that, telling our mates that they will have a new sister soon will be a pain. They already knew that they might meet her someday, but now they would know it was happening soon. They would likely decide to shop for her, taking me with them. "Fine Aro, only for you." Maybe I would get to stay by Dora's side. It would make things bearable at least.
