Aro's Point of View
I was driving to the hospital, I wanted to see Rebecca so bad; and yet, I had to wait. When I got there, I parked In a reasonable area and used my vampire speed to find the window of the room she was in. She was speaking with her father and Bella. He started to go off about how he was going to imprison whoever decide to ram into them. "Uh, Rebecca? You alright? I think you spaced out or something."
She looked at him "yes, Charlie, I'm fine, I just remembered something from my school days." I half wondered what it was she remembered from her school days, as far as my gift went, I still could not hear her life, or see her memories. What good was my gift if I couldn't use it? I knew she just needed time to get used to my gift before she was ready to share her life with me; but I still wanted to know everything about her.
I turned my attention back to the conversation, Charlie looked like he was debating on saying something. "Um, Rebecca?" "yes Charlie?" she asked "um, I was wondering if you were still going to Italy." She sighed, "yes Charlie, I'm still going, yes the crash was a bit startling; and I don't pretend to understand how sad you were when you thought I was dead, but I'm still going, the crash once I leave this building will be in the past and I don't like it when the past negatively affects my future."
He looked defeated, I knew Charlie wasn't the one who did this, he wasn't that type of person, but he was hoping that she might decide to stay in forks with the new development. Bella was looking at her in disbelief, she still hadn't gotten over the shock of the newborns coming after her and here my mate was shrugging off a car crash.
They exchanged a few more words before leaving "Aro, come in here will you?" I chuckled, leave it to Rebecca to know a vampire was there, "so" I said as I entered through the window "is it just me or have I been coming into rooms through windows lately?" she snorted, "it's probably just you; I mean it's not like you've been entering my room and watched me while I slept."
I laughed she always knew how to raise my spirits, "of course that's not it at all." I rapped my arms around her lithe form. My cold skin sucked in her warmth, she scented me, and I wasn't sure how long our embrace lasted but it had to come to an end when a doctor started to come over.
I gave her a kiss which she retuned avidly, "I have to go cara, (dear) but I'll be waiting in my car for you." With that I left hoping that nothing else would happen to her.
Rebecca's Point of View
He had just left, out the window of course, before the door to the room opened. One of Carlisle colleagues came through, "it seems you have made a full recovery; you can leave now." I nodded and started to leave the room. "Oh, and Rebecca?" I looked at him, "try not to get the plane to crash." He said it humorously, so I joked back. "That's up for debate" he chuckled, and we went our separate ways.
I had said goodbye to Bella and Charlie; so, I was free to go to the airport, thankfully, Charlie left my luggage in the hospital to pick up. I'm really going to miss him and Bella, at least I'll be able to write to him. The walk from where I piked up my things to the parking lot was short, and I spotted his car easily. It was the only one in the lot besides Carlisle's, that looked like it belonged in a car magazine.
I closed the distance easily and he opened the door for me, "after you mi amore (my love)" I got in "and they say chivalry is dead." He laughed at this, "cara, (dear) chivalry will never be dead in my family." He got in on his side; he had way too much grace for his own good and I found myself staring. "something amiss cara? (dear)" I shook my head, "no" I said with a huff looking away blushing, he smiled "I guess I'm distracting you then." We drove to the airport; it was crowded like airports always are, I was grateful that I didn't have to fly commercially, I always thought of planes as metal death traps and I secretly feared them; so, when I got on the jet, it was only logical my heart started to beat faster.
Aro's Point of View
As soon as we got on the jet my mates heart rate execrated, I didn't know why but I felt through the bond she was afraid, "cara? (dear) is everything alright?" she looked like she was debating something before holding my hand and getting close to me. She opened her shield to some memories and thoughts; I saw the last few moments through her mind.
My fear started to build as I entered the plane and my heartbeat picked up, I was afraid. It was an irrational fear to be afraid planes I knew, but that didn't stop me from feeling like Bella at the moment. "Cara? (dear) is everything alright?" he sounded concerned, I debated whether I should tell him; I came to the conclusion I would, but I didn't exactly want all the vampires on board to know. I might trust them, but this was not something I wanted to share, I closed the space between Aro and me holding his hand and let the last few seconds flow into his mind.
She was afraid of being on the plane, it wasn't a fear of heights, it was a phobia with no true beginning. "Cara (dear) you needn't worry about that; you're safe on the plane, and I won't let anything happen to you." I whispered it in her ear too low for the others in the jet to hear, but with enough volume that her human ears could pick it up.
