The monster loomed above Percy, striking the final kill, right through his heart. THe heard screams and people running over. Will stood above him, bandages and nectar were brought but it was already too late. Annabeth pushed through the crowd and collapsed sobbing onto him. Blood soaked her clothes.

"Hey Wise Girl" Percy groaned, "I'll always love you."

"Don't leave me." She begged.

The light faded from Percys sea green eyes. The last thing he thought before he slipped away was how glad he was that he had met Annabeth. Annabeth screamed to the heavens and broke down. The crowd slowly dispersed but she stayed there, sobbing over her lost Seaweed Brain.

To his surprise, Percy woke up in Olympus. All the gods were there, even the minors ones and Hades. Percy saw them discussing something amongst themselves. His fathers eyes were wet and he seemed to be arguing with Zeus. Surprisingly, Athena seemed to be on his side. Zeus, seeing that Percy was awake spoke up,

"Young demigod, over the years you have performed a great many services to us. So we have decided to give you a choice."

"Think carefully." Athena warned.

"You may either have immortality,"continued Zeus, "or become mortal again and have your life force tied to your soulmate, Annabeth, once your love dies, so shall you."

Percy thought about it for a moment, sizing up his options, then made his decision.

At midnight, when she was just about to fall asleep, Annabeth felt something. It felt like a heartbeat but she assumed that it was just a figment of her imagination. A wish. Then Percy stirred beneath her and began to sit up. The wound in his chest was still bleeding thick warm blood but he was alive. He took short laboured breaths. Annabeth, seeing he was still injured, hollered, waking the whole camp. Campers rushed from all directions towards them, Will and Nico being the first. Will immediately took action. As Percy blacked out he saw the Apollo campers being directed on what to do.

When Percy woke up he heard hushed whispers and sobs. He slowly sat up and saw his friends around him and Annabeth beside him. Piper and Hazel were sitting next to her consoling her. Standing on the opposite side of the bed were Will and Nico and next to the door was Leo. (Frank and Jason, Percys other friends had moved back to Camp Jupiter after Hazel and Piper had broken up with them.) He sat up slowly and everyone's eyes swivelled to him.

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" He inquired.

"Maybe it's because you just died, Seaweed Brain! Then in the dead of night are suddenly revived!!!" Annabeth shouted at him.

"H-how did you even do that?" Nico stuttered. Percy was surprised, he had never heard Nico stutter.

Percy explained the meeting with the gods and was met with awestruck looks from all around him. It was a feat no demigod had ever achieved. But that wasn't new to Percy. He'd been through Tartarus, bathed in the River Styx, been a Roman Praetor and been in two prophesies. There was nothing Percy Jackson wasn't capable of.

After talking with his friends for a while, Percy was left alone with Annabeth. She pressed her tear stained face into his chest and hugged him viciously.

"I-I thought I'd lost you Seaweed Brain," She sobbed, "don't you ever do that to me again. Ok?"

"I won't, I promise." Percy whispered into her hair.

They just sat there for a while, saying nothing, just enjoying each other's company. They had been through so much together that they each felt like the other was an extension of their soul.

"I love you Wise Girl." Percy whispered.

"I love you too." Annabeth replied.
