My mother used to tell me different stories about a kingdom underwater where lots of mer people lived. I didn't believe her on that, but she told me that they're real.

I asked her, "If they are real, then how come I never saw a real life mermaid?" Mother looked at me and she said, "Well just because you can't see a mermaid, doesn't mean they're real." I took her word for it.

It would be possible. Then my mother handed me some things that was once hers, a seashell necklace and a pearl bracelet with a shell in it. They look so beautiful to me. She then said, "These were once mine when I was your age Carrie, but now I want you to have them."

I put on the necklace and bracelet and then I looked at them in awe. I just didn't know what to say. She then said, "You know, exploring the beach will help you understand." I smiled and said, "Sure Mom, I'll do that now."

I then went outside to do some exploring in the beach. The only sounds I hear are the seagulls and the waves. Those are nice sounds to hear. Then I began to notice my mother's necklace and bracelet starting to glow.

That's strange, what's going on? Before I know what is happening, I started to float up and reach for the ocean. Then I landed with a splash.

I tried to swim to the surface, but I felt a strong pain in my legs as if they are being glued together. I then looked at them and got my eyes wide.

My legs have been turned into a hot pink tail! I must be sent to the ocean for a reason.
