A/N- Hello folks! Welcome back with a new chapter of 'Emerald and Amethyst'. Hope you enjoy.
WARNINGS FOR THE CHAPTER- mentions of abuse; language
Harry was mad.
For as long as he knew, he had been called a freak, a burden. The Dursleys had taken him out of the goodness of their hearts. He was said that he should be grateful that they had taken him in. He was said that he had to earn his keep. So, from when he was four, he had to cook, clean, sweep, weed and practically do everything a house-elf would have done. Anything less than perfection was met with being beaten, shoved into his cupboard and not being given food for a week. Any accidental magic was also met with his uncle's fists and belt. He was beaten on a weekly basis while his cousin was pampered and showered with love. It seemed to Harry that the Dursleys were capable of loving both of them but they used all of that love on Dudley.
Now, he found out that the Dursleys had been paid 3000-fucking-Galleons every single month! That too from his own vault! Well, as he thought about it, it made sense. Vernon worked as a Drill salesman in Grunnings which did not give money to buy Dudley 37 presents along with covering their general expense.
He had always thought that Ginny was his younger sister he was not allowed to have. He knew that she had a crush on him but then, everyone in the wizarding world had heard of the Boy-who-lived as they grew up. So, it was natural to him that she would have a major crush. He had thought that when she came to know about him as a person, she would see him as Harry Potter and not the Boy-who-lived. But, it didn't seem to be true. He had saved Ginny because he had grown quite attached to him as a brother and he did not want the school to close.
He knew that the Weasleys were poor but that didn't mean that Mrs. Weasley would go behind their backs and plot to kill him just for his money! It is ridiculous! If Mrs. Weasley asked for money then he would have gladly given them. But no! He will make sure that Dumbledore, the Weasley Matriarch and Ginevra will be nothing but a slobbering mess by the end of his punishment.
While Harry was thinking all of this, his magic lashed out dangerously as if sensing it's wielder's thoughts and emotions and wanting to get rid of the people who had caused him pain.
Hermione had always known that Harry was powerful but she had never witnessed Harry lose it completely. So, now as she sat with her hands neatly over her skirt, she felt the wild magic being released. It was...indecipherable. It was warm and fiery as well as cold and icy at the same time. The warmth made her feel like a heater on a particularly cold winter evening. On the other hand, the iciness felt like she had been drowned in the Black Lake during January. It was comforting and dangerous at the same time. As much as she wanted to protect herself from the bitter cold, she could not move away from the warmth.
Ron had felt Harry's magic only once, during his second year when Hermione was petrified. It was the first time he was actually scared of Harry. It was also the first time he had found out how much powerful Harry was and the sheer amount of control he had on his magic. An almost impossible feat for a young twelve-year-old to either possess or successfully control that much amount of raw magic. Now too, he feared Harry. He feared that Harry had lost control. Normally, Harry was perfectly in control of his emotions. Only letting the emotions show which were expected of him when he was in the classes or become completely snarky when he was with just him and 'Mione. It showed Harry's level of trust and he was not willing to break that even if that meant turning his back on his family.
Severus, for the first time since he was seventeen was scared. Scared of the teen who had that much control over his powers. Control of his emotions. Severus knew that if Harry was even slightly angry then his magic would have leaked out. He had also sensed the warmth and cold of Harry's magic. Severus had studied extensively about auras and so he was able to deduce that the warmth in his magic was from practicing 'Light' magic and the iciness in his magic was from practicing 'Dark' magic. Severus had always thought that the Boy-wonder hated anything that had to do with 'Dark Arts' and he only practiced 'Light' magic. It seemed he could not have been any more wrong. In Harry, the Dark magic was so much, the Light magic was almost indistinguishable.
Suddenly Harry's eyes snapped open and instead of the lively emerald green they were accustomed to seeing, they saw that his eyes were completely devoid of any emotion. The worst thing was that the eyes were black.
A/N- Sorry for the cliffy. (No. I really am not sorry for the cliffhanger). Thanks to all those who have reviewed/favorited/followed the story. It really means a lot to me.
PS- Sorry for the short chapter.
