GRINGOTTS - PART IV

A/N- Hello everyone! I know that I am pretty late for updating but then I did a Drabble (which was horrible) and a lengthy chapter for 'Just One More Year' (if you haven't read it yet, please do so). Anyways, to make up for it, I have presented you all with a very lengthy chapter consisting of 3,544 words without author notes! Also, there is quite a bit of info dumping somewhere in the middle. I ask you all to read it through and not just skip it because most-if not all-of it will come up in the following chapters. But for now, read and enjoy!

"Here, make them take these potions. I don't care how you get it inside the person's body- you can make them drink or can directly inject it in the bloodstream, either way would work." She said as she handed several potions.

"Are you sure that this will work? I have no doubt of your skill…but there is the factor that being so long in Azkaban has deteriorated their sanity so much that they can't be healed?" A devilishly handsome man with straight black hair, pale skin and glowing red eyes asked. He looked somewhere in his early thirties.

The girl who had been handing the potions suddenly smirked. She was-in one word, beautiful. She had an hourglass figure and was lithe- courtesy of all the training she had received. The glossy black hair which tumbled to her waist with heavy-lidded eyes and aristocratic face made her look so much like Bellatrix Lestrange, that many people had commented that they would not be surprised if she were Bellatrix's daughter. Her pale skin and soul-piercing amethyst eyes with amber swirls made her even more breath-taking.

"Oh, I am completely sure that this would work on people who have gone completely insane from the Cruciatus and other…spells. It was…fun. Rest assured, even the most insane human would be alright. You need not worry, father." The girl said, smirking.

"Ah. Of course, I shouldn't have doubted you in the first place, Aqu…Kira." The man said.

But, the girl frowned and said- "five months, daddy dearest"-

"Don't call me that!" he hissed, literally.

"-and you still can't get used to call me Kira?"

"It isn't as if-" but he was cut off by a shriek of 'MY BABY!'

"Oh gods, this can only be one person." 'Kira' said as she looked warily at the door.

"Bellatrix." Her father confirmed her fears.

'Kira' stepped into the room. There, her aunt was looking around the room wildly while her husband was restraining her.

"MY BABY! WHERE IS MY BABY?!" Bellatrix shrieked.

"This is worse than I expected." He muttered.

'Kira' set her jaw and said to her aunt- "Aunt Bellatrix, why don't you drink this potion?"

"What will this do?" Bellatrix asked.

"Help you think more clearly." She answered in a melodic, hypnotizing voice.

Bellatrix's eyes glazed over as she took the potion and drank it. She fell asleep instantly.

"What was that?" the man asked.

"That was one of my powers. Come on, nine more to go!" she said in a falsely cheery voice.

The man sighed.

"Dumbledore has taken a lot of money- G10,000 every month. He has also taken old Family Heirlooms- like the Potter Signet Ring, the Potter Engagement Ring, the Potter Promise Ring and the Potter Wedding Bands." Goldaxe said.

"I want all of the money back- along with interest. The old Family Heirlooms should also be taken away. I don't care if you use force to take them back- but just don't kill him. Also, make it seem anonymous. Dumbledore can't realize that I have realized everything." Harry said.

"It will be done, Harry," Goldaxe said, "a letter will go to Dumbledore that the goblins have been informed-anonymously, of course-that he has been taking money illegally. I will put a goblin's version of compulsion charm on Dumbledore so that he never suspects you. And, on the subject of letters, I have spoken with Master Ragnok and he has assured me that the letters of voiding marriage contracts will not go to the parties. So, you all will be able to void your marriage contracts. I have already made a copy for each to show to the Wizengamot when the time comes."

"Brilliant, Goladaxe. I knew there was a reason as to why I kept you as my bank Manager. Now, what do we need to do to annul the contracts?" Harry said with a shit-eating smirk on his face.

"You need to say- 'I, [insert full name with titles] consider the marriage contract between myself and [full name of the person with titles] as null and void. So mote it be!'. Only Harry and Lord Prewett"-

"Please call me Ron. Lord Prewett makes me feel weird." Ron said.

"-will need to do it." Goldaxe continued.

"Okay then. I, Lord Hadrian James Potter-Evans-Peverell-Gryffindor-Emrys and Heir to the House of Black consider the marriage contract between myself and Ginevra Molly Weasley, Daughter of the Disgraced House of Weasley as null and void. So mote it be!" Harry said as a bright white light filled the room and vanished just as quickly, signifying that it had worked.

Ron took a deep breath and said, "I, Lord Ronald Billius Weasley-Prewett consider the marriage between myself and Lady Hermione Jean Granger-McKinnon and Heiress to the House of Lestrange as null and void. So mote it be!" Another time the bright white light filled the room and vanished just as quickly.

"Harry? Why did you say 'Daughter of the Disgraced House of Weasley'? Shouldn't they be a Noble House, at least?" Hermione asked, he brows scrunched up in confusion.

Harry sighed and said, "The Weasleys have a very bad history. First, somewhere in the 1780s, Chelsea Weasley murdered Octavius Potter. It was a heinous crime because Octavius was from the direct line of the Potters-which was a Noble and Ancient House-and without him, the line would end. Fortunately, he had a squib brother who reproduced a magical child so the Potter Lineage was saved. Since it was Chelsea's fault, the whole Weasley family had to pay the crime. They were a Noble and Ancient House…but their 'Noble' title was stripped away along with a considerable sum of money which went to the next Potter. As for Chelsea, she was stripped from her right to do magic and sent in the Muggle World with no memories of the Wizarding World."

Hermione gasped and said, "she only murdered one person. Surely the punishment is exaggerated?"

"Hermione…they tried to murder the last of the Potters- which is a very influential, ancient and powerful House. The Weasley line was lucky that none of the Potters were alive or they would have completely destroyed the Weasley name- it wouldn't be anything more than a minor black spot…and the Potters would have had complete liberty to do it. If the Potter Line died out then centuries worth of knowledge-stemming from the time of Myriddin and Morgan would be wiped out, lost forever."

"But…this war has wiped out so many families. Doesn't that deserve justice?" Hermione asked.

"As you said- it is a war. People have to choose a side and if they wish to remain neutral then they shouldn't be killed. When the choose a side, it is inherently assumed that the families know what they are putting at stake. And we are talking about more than lives. Each Pureblood Family being wiped out-no matter how evil they are-meant that centuries worth of knowledge, power and magic was lost. As the war continued to wipe Pureblood Families out of existence, magick started to decrease. This is also the reason why Elves and Lamias-lords of the Light and Dark respectively-have maintained a truce so that there would not be a true war between Light and Dark. If it does happen, then the entire Wizarding World will be destroyed…not one person will be left alive."

"Oh." Hermione said in a small voice.

"Yes. Again, in the early 1800s, there was a betrothal contract between Artemisia Malfoy and Alexander Weasley. Alexander payed no heed to the contract and went on to marry a muggle woman. At that time, it was considered to be a great blasphemy for this indicated that the Weasleys thought muggles were better than the Malfoys. The Weasleys could have easily repaired it by blasting Alexander from their Family Tree but they did not do it. So, the Malfoys pushed the matter to the Wizengamot and the Weasleys lost the last bit of dignity, wealth and titles." Harry said.

"Wow. How do you know all about it?" Hermione asked.

"Hermione…I was raised by someone who practically drilled everything about the Sacred 28 into my head."

"But…last I checked, the Potters weren't a part of the Sacred 28." Ron said, confused.

Harry snorted and said, "Actually, we are. To convince Charlus Potter to go to the Light Side, Dumbledore used his power to make the Potters a part of the Sacred 28. But…he didn't tell it to anyone and so my grandparents remained neutral."

"But, Potters are a Light Family. Shouldn't they be on the 'Light' side?" Snape asked, confused.

Harry laughed and said, "This is where 90% of the people are wrong. The Potters were either Neutral or Dark in every war fought in the History of wizard-kind. It was with my father- James Potter that the tradition of following the 'Light' started. And, since I am a Potter and a mascot for the Light, it is inherently assumed that the Potters are always Light."

"Why did the Potters fight for the Dark, then?" Snape asked.

Harry shrugged and said, "Could be several reasons. Some of the prime reasons were that the Potters were always better in Dark Magicka and had a grey core. Also, there was a fact that the Potters are born Leaders. It is not in our nature to follow but to lead. The Dark allowed them to lead. Hell, some of the Potters even led armies to battle."

"Why had you said that you had summoned me?" Harry asked as he reflected back on the conversation and effectively ended the conversation.

"Ah, we had been summoning you because by magical records, Albus Dumbledore is not your magical guardian as you were emancipated at the age of seven and your parents did not name him as your guardian in their will. But, even then Albus Dumbledore was posing as your guardian and taking more money than allowed from the Potter Vaults. He tried to take from the Black Vaults too but Lady Black instantly prohibited it once she heard of it." Goldaxe said.

"You can be emancipated at the age of seven?!" Hermione asked, her eyes wide.

"Only those who are of royal lineage and by that I mean those who are descended from Myriddin, Morgan or Arthur." Goldaxe replied.

"But, Arthur wasn't a wizard." Hermione said, frowning.

"Oh yes he was. The muggles have most of it wrong." Goldaxe replied.

"Wait a minute…isn't Sirius Black the Lord of the House?" Ron asked, confused.

"No, because he was disowned by his mother which was seconded by his father- the then current Lord. This meant that he would never be able to take control over the Black Estates, Money, etc. The girl I was talking about-who is not my girlfriend, by the way-is directly descended from the Blacks and so she took control of the Blacks." Harry said.

"Who is this girl?" Severus asked, curious.

Harry smirked and said, "You may know her better as Kira."

"WHAT!" this came from Ron…obviously.

"How can the girl you were talking about and the Dark Princess be the same?" Snape asked.

"Huh. Dark Princess. Now that's new.." Harry muttered.

"Harry!" Hermione shouted. She really hated not knowing things.

"You are intelligent, 'Mione. Figure it out." Harry said, rolling his eyes.

"You are meaning to say that the Black girl"-

"Her name is Aquila, by the way"

"-Aquila and Kira are the same person?" Hermione asked.

"Bingo." Harry replied.

"But…how can that happen?" asked Ron.

"It's quite simple, really. It's just one person with multiple identities." Hermione said.

"Oh." Ron replied.

"And, to answer your question, Professor. I too have multiple identities." Harry said, grinning.

"H-how did you?" Snape did not stutter.

"Master Occlumens and Legilimens. Took me a year to get them down. Besides, you were literally shouting those thoughts at me." Harry replied.

"You only took one year?" Severus asked.

"Well…my legilimency skills were always there, I only needed to hone it. And occlumency…you can't live with a person who lures you at every possible opportunity and not learn occlumency." Harry said.

"Lure?" Hermione asked.

"I am not saying." Harry replied.

"Soo…what do we do now?" Ron asked.

"First, we get out of this place. And about the second, I would like to meet Kira." Harry said.

"You don't even know where she lives." Hermione said.

"Riddle Manor." Harry said flatly.

"How did you?" Severus thought that he would have a heart attack if Harry continued to surprise him like that.

Harry smiled secretly and said, "secret."

"By the way, could you take us to the Manor? I know that only the ones with the Dark Mark are able to get in." Harry said.

"Sure. I need to tell everything to the Dark Lord, anyways. You can come with me…tomorrow. Today we need to go back before Dumbledore becomes suspicious." Snape said.

"Fine. Thank you for your help, Goldaxe. We will be leaving now." Harry said to the goblin.

"It is, as always, a pleasure working with you, Harry." Goldaxe said.

They went out of Gringotts but not without attracting many stares. Some even said 'Lord Potter' and dipped their heads in respect.

"Why are they being so…respectful?" Ron asked.

"Because they care about gold…and I am the richest wizard alive." Harry answered.

"That is not the whole truth." Hermione accused him.

"That it isn't." Harry agreed but did not say anything more.

"Hooray! Shifting time." Harry muttered as he closed his eyes in concentration and, in front of their eyes, he changed back to the scrawny, bespectacled Harry Potter that everyone knew him as.

"You are a Metamorphmagus like Tonks!" Hermione exclaimed. She had been glamoured by Harry (along with the others) to look like their old selves.

"Yep. Old gene which runs in the Black Family." Harry replied back.

"Oo. But…if it is a family gene, then why don't the rest of the Blacks have the ability?" Ron asked.

"Inbreeding," Harry replied, "Take Sirius for example. His parents were second cousins. Because of the vast amount of inbreeding, the Metamorphmagi ability in the Blacks died out. It was always there but never activated. However, Tonks' father is a muggleborn- which means pure magic and purer blood. So, the gene activated in Tonks. Now, unless she marries her brother, her children will also have the ability. Since the ability was very diluted, father didn't have the ability since Charlus and Dorea were very distant cousins and the gene needed fresh blood to spark again. My mother, as you all know, is a muggleborn so I ended up having the gene much like Tonks."

"I never thought about it that way…It would explain why Tonks has the ability." Snape said.

"Uh-huh. Now, we have a lovely castle with a not-so-lovely Headmaster to go back to. And, I'd prefer not having him notice that we were gone." Harry half-joked.

"True enough and I want to add another half-a-foot in Binns assignment." Hermione said as they all trudged back to Hogwarts.

"Speaking of which, can you help me with the Transfig. Essay, Harry?" Ron asked.

"Sure." Harry answered back.

"It was…refreshing to do business with you, Mr. Potter." Snape said as they entered the castle.

Harry smirked-which looked very out-of-ordinary in Harry's face-and said, "It was a pleasure doing business with you too, Professor Snape. Meet you tomorrow."

Snape nodded once and made his way towards the dungeons, moving silently like a shadow.

Just as the three of them finally relaxed in the homeliness of their common room, a little first year quietly gave a note to Harry.

"Who is it from and what does it say?" Ron asked.

"I thought 'Mione was the questioner?" Harry questioned delicately as he suspected the parchment. Having his memories back was a blessing and a curse. He had been happy enough knowing that his only enemy- Voldemort was actually good. Now, he had found out from his memories that he had plenty of other enemies-whose names he didn't bother to remember. Ah, well. He supposed that ignorance is bliss.

Harry unfolded his note after making sure that there were no harmful enchantment on it (CONSTANT VIGILANCE!). It went as follows-

Mr. Potter. Please meet me in my office as fast as you can. There is a very shocking news that I need to tell you. You may bring your friends.

A.P.W.B.D

PS.- You will notice that I rather like Acid Pops.

PPS.- This information is very delicate, it would be for the best if you didn't tell anyone (except Ms. Granger and Mr. Weasley) about this letter. It would also be beneficial if you burnt it as soon as possible.

Harry frowned as he poured over the letter. Why would Dumbledore want to talk to him? He was pretty sure that Dumbledore wouldn't be able to find out about their little excursion. So, why would the Headmaster try to talk to him? He thought he might as well go. What was the worst that could happen…And that was a rhetorical question.

"You guys wanna come?" Harry asked.

"Of course!" both of them answered.

"C'mon then. Let's get this over with." Harry said as they made their way to the Headmaster's office.

Harry stood in front of the Gargoyle and said, "Acid Pop"

The Gargoyle sprung aside and Harry, Ron and Hermione made their way to the Headmaster's office.

"Ah! Harry, Ms. Granger, Mr. Weasley. Please take a seat." Dumbledore said, his eyes were devoid of it's usual twinkle.

"You asked to see us, Headmaster." Harry said.

"Yes, but first, tell me if you have had any visions? Small snippets? Emotions which are not your own? Pain in your scar?" Dumbledore asked.

"No, sir." Harry replied truthfully, "why? Should I get any sort of visions from him?"

Dumbledore hesitated a bit. Harry got his answer even as Dumbledore said, "Just a precaution, m'boy."

"Why did you call us, Professor Dumbledore?" Hermione asked.

"Ah, yes. It will be in the tomorrow's Daily Prophet I believe but I think you all need to know it first."

Harry snorted internally and thought, More like he is trying to win my favor after ignoring me for months.

"What is it?" Ron asked.

Dumbledore gravely answered, "It seems as if Lord Voldemort has again become active. Only today, they broke out all of the high-security prisoners in Azkaban…and it includes the notorious Bellatrix Lestrange."

Harry, Ron and Hermione gasped for effect. But, internally they were all thinking different things.

Ha! I knew it. Why else should he announce that he has an heiress. It is good that he is becoming active. But…is he sane yet? Another question to ask Snape. I wonder how 'Mione feels about this. Probably conflicted. Harry thought.

My mother…Oh gods! My mother killed and tortured hundreds of people! Hermione thought.

But, didn't you dream of killing the Grangers? Hmm? a part of her mind asked.

I think. But, they have acted so horribly towards me. It is justified. But, what about all those innocent muggles that she has killed? They didn't do anything to her! Hermione answered.

Don't you think that all muggles are bad because you've had a bad experience with every muggle you've met? That doesn't mean that all muggles in the world are bad, now are they? But you think that they are. She was raised as a Pureblood and hence it was drilled into her head that Muggles are evil. And they are. If they find out about us, then there will be another witch-hunt. That part of the mind asked back.

I…Oh just leave it! I must be going mad, talking to myself. Hermione thought.

What do I do now? I will always be with Harry but where is the proof that the Death Eaters will not kill us where we stand? Oh, well I guess I should trust Harry's judgement. He has never let us go off track. I don't see why he will now. Ron thought.

Harry said aloud, "Oh gods! It is horrible. Will Fudge finally agree that the Dementors have gone to the Dark?"

"It seems that Minister Fudge is blaming this break-out on Sirius."

"What?!"

"Yes, since Bellatrix Lestrange is Sirius' cousin and the fact that Sirius was the only person who could break out of Azkaban, they are blaming this on Sirius." Dumbledore said sorrowfully.

"But, Sirius is nothing like his family! He would rather die than help one of the Death Eaters to escape! He told me this himself!" Harry argued.

"We know of this, m'boy. But the Ministry doesn't." Dumbledore said.

"Right." Harry said faux-sadly.

"I am sorry that I dumped this information on you all just after you had a pleasant experience in Hogsmeade. However, I think that you would be more appreciative if you knew of this before-hand." Dumbledore said.

Huh. Definitely trying to butter me up. Harry thought.

"Thanks for telling me about this, Professor. Really." Harry said.

Dumbledore's eyes twinkled merrily for a second and he said, "I am sure that you all have many things to do. Remember, if you want to tell me anything, my door is always opened for you all."

Harry inclined his head and walked out with Hermione and Ron. Tomorrow was going to be a big day.

A/N- Here you go, chapter 8 of Emerald and Amethyst. I will probably update 'De Potentia Obumbratio' (if you haven't already, then check it out!) in the next few days. Also, my exams are going on, I am writing these chapters in the free time I have. Please bear with me. Please read and review! It makes my day!
