3rd POV
Luz woke up to the sun beating down on her, interrupting her rare peaceful sleep. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she sat up and stretched her arms out. She grabbed phone and saw that it was quite early in the morning for her standards. She was confused as to why she subconsciously woke up this early before realizing that it's her first day back to Hexside. Without a second thought, Luz jumped up and grabbed her clothes, her uniform now returning to its pale grey color that it was when she first enrolled into the school. Once fully clothed she looked herself over in her mirror before turning to the still sleeping King. Luz smiled, crouching down to the king of demons and gave him a small kiss on his head, causing said demon to stir slightly but not awaking from his slumber. Luz stood up and walked out of her room and down to the kitchen where she found Eda, having a fresh cup of apple blood in hand, and Lilith, who was at the stove making who knows what for breakfast.
Eda look up at Luz and smiled. "Morning kiddo, are you ready for your first day back to Hexside?" She asked. Luz nodded eagerly. "I'm so excited! I can study with Willow, Gus, and Amity again! It's gonna be so much fun!" Luz said, bouncing up and down at the thought of studying with her best friends and her beloved girlfriend. Eda chuckled at the girls antics. "Sounds like you'll have fun. Remember, if someone hurts you, tell me and I'll personally hex them. And don't get too carried away with your girlfriend." Eda said with a smirk. Luz blushed heavily. "Me and Amity just got together and your already teasing us." Luz sighed. "And don't worry, I know how to take care of myself." She continued with a smile. Eda returned the smile as they all buckled down for breakfast. Not much of a conversation went around as they ate.
Once Luz and Eda had finished there meal, Luz grabbed her bag as Eda grabbed Owlbert and made there way to the school. When they landed, Luz gave Eda one last hug before turning to the building. Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward and made her way to the entrance. When she got closer to the stairs she started to see Willow, Gus and Amity waiting there for her. Luz smiled and was about to call out to them when her foot was caught on something causing her to fall face first into the dirt, a small crack heard from her nose. Luz pushed herself to her knees as best as she could with her one arm, wiping her nose to be met with the sight of a small amount of a crimson liquid. "Oops. You're so unimportant and invisible that I didn't even see you there." Said a voice next to Luz. Luz turned to the voice to be met by a smug looking Boscha. Luz groaned and rolled her eyes at the witch. 'I really don't want to be dealing with this.' Luz thought as she brought herself to a stand. Dusting herself off she heard footsteps coming their way. Luz groaned once more. 'Titan, please don't be her gang.' "Leave her alone Boscha." Said a sweet and graceful voice that Luz recognized to be her girlfriend.
Luz smiled but jolted as she felt a hand being placed on her back. Luz turned to come face to face with a surprisingly worried face. "Hey are you ok? You fell pretty hard there." Said the person whom Luz now identified as Skara. Luz nodded, her shock rendering her speechless. 'Why is she worried about me? Isn't she with Boscha?' Luz thought. Skara gave Luz a smile and helped her walk over to Amity. When Luz reached the girl, she was greeted with a hug. "Are you alright love?" She asked. Luz smiled and returned the gesture with a one armed hug. "I'm ok Carino, I've had worse." Luz said. Amity frown at the last part of the statement but understood what she met. "Come on, let's get you to the healers and then to Bumps office. Thanks for the help Skara." Willow said. Skara smiled and nodded. Luz looked at Willow confused as to why the healers were needed before reaching up to her nose to feel a warm liquid running down. Luz pulled her hand back to see blood on her fingers. 'Oh yeah. Forgot about that.' She thought.
After a quick trip to the healers the group made their way to Principal Bumbs office where they had to part ways. Giving Amity one more hug and a wave to Gus and Willow, Luz entered the office to see an expecting Principal Bump. Luz swallowed as she walked up and sat down in the chair in front of Bump. "So, I presume you wish to continue your studies with all the tracks as you have in the past?" Bump asked. Luz nodded slightly, feeling her throat tighten in anxiety. Bump smiled at the girl. "Very well then. I'll go get your schedule. Stay here I'll be right back and have you on your way." He said, standing up from his chair and leaving the room. Once the door closed, Luz began to feel her heart rate increase as the room warped around her ever so slightly. Her eyes darted around the room, hoping it would help stop the spinning to no avail. Her breath quickened and her ears were ringing. Her head was pounding as he heart banged against her rib cage. Luz closed her eyes and took deep breaths to try and calm herself. It worked just a tiny bit as her heart rate lowered to normal and her breathing became controlled. Her ears where still ringing and her head was still pounding but she figured that'll have to do for now. Not to long after she heard the door open once more. She turned towards it to see Principal Bump with her schedule in hand. With a twirl of his finger, her bland uniform returned to its multicolored glory as he handed her the schedule. "The bell has rung already so you can just head straight to your first class." He said as he took a seat at his desk again.
Luz nodded and gave a quiet thank you as she spun on her heal, making her way out the door. Once in the hall, Luz looked at her schedule before groaning. Her first class was on the other side of the school. On the plus side however, it seemed as though it was Amity's first class as well. Luz sighed before smiling and making her way down the hall. She couldn't tell if it was just paranoia or anxiety but she couldn't shake the feeling of being followed. Luz turned to look in the direction she had just came from to find nothing out of the ordinary. Shrugging it off as just Paranoia, Luz turned around again to continue her way to class but something was different. Luz's eye shot across all corners of the hallway she could've sworn she was just in, panic and anxiety filling her mind. 'Where did all the lockers go?' Luz thought with panic. Looking down at her schedule, she realized she wasn't holding her schedule anymore. In its place was a pamphlet about the Emperors castle. Luz's breath caught in her throat as she looked around herself. Sure enough, the walls, pillars and lockers were replaced with the walls and Pillars of the emperors castle. With Emperor Belos sitting on his thrown eyeing the human. The man gave a dark chuckle. "Surprised to see me human? I believe I told you that you can never win. This is just pointless fighting." Said the man as he stood up and walked towards the shaking girl, towering over her. The ringing in her ears got louder and louder as the pounding in her head became harder.
Luz's breath quickened as she took a step away from the man only to trip and fall onto the ground. What can she do? With how her shoulder is at the moment, there's no way she can fight him. The man chuckled once more as he reached his hand out to grab her. Luz shut her eyes and waited for his touch to reach her.
"Z...uz...Luz! Snap out of it!" Said a voice. Luz opened her eyes to be greeted with the warm surroundings of the school once more. Feeling someone holding onto her like a life line. She looked down to see her girlfriend holding her tight as she gave off a worried expression. Luz looked around to see a crowd of student, familiar and unfamiliar, watching her in concern. Boscha was there two, smirking at the sight of the "weak" human. "Wha- what happened?" Luz asked, her voice raspy and harsh. Amity looked at her with worry. "I think you were having an anxiety attack. I was on my way to the next class when I found a crowd of people watching something. I thought it was a fight at first but when I pushed to the front I saw you on the ground crawling away from something. Are you ok?" Amity asked.
Luz could tell there was a bit of that moment that she didn't want to mention to Luz but she let it slide and put her face in her palm. "Yeah. I think I'm fine." Luz responded, smiling to the girl in front of her. The girl looked up at Luz before resting her head on the Latina's. "If you think you're ok then I'll believe you." Amity said. "I promise I'm ok Carino." Luz said with a smile as she saw Amity's lips curve up ever so slightly to grace the Latina with her gorgeous smile. This moment caused a coo from most of the students. This moment...was also then ruined by Boscha. "Ugh, boho, I have issues, I'm making a scene for no reason. What kind of loser are you that you have to do something as pointless as this for attention?" Boscha asked, annoyed at the fact that she wasn't the most important person at the moment like she should be. Amity looked at the witch and growled at her, Amity's fangs being more noticeable as she glared at the ignorant girl. Luz's head turned downcast at the familiar comment. Amity was about to say something when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
Turning to Luz, Amity noticed the somber smile on the girls face. "It's not worth it Carino, besides I'm used to this kinda thing." Luz said with a pained expression. Amity looked at her with a shocked and sad expression. "Luz..." Amity spoke so quietly that she could barely hear herself. "Your used to it? Wow, your a loser here and in the human realm." Boscha said smugly. "Cut it out Boscha. It's not funny." Said a member from the crowd causing a chorus of agreements. Boscha looked around and huffed in annoyance. "Oh whatever, have fun with that Luzer." Boscha said as she walked away. Boscha's comment caused Luz to flinch as old painful memories flooded her mind. Luz shook her head and sighed. Amity, who was now standing, held out her hand to help Luz off the ground. Once standing, the crowd around them dispersed as Luz rubbed her temples. "What did I trip on?" She asked herself. Amity groaned. "Boscha tripped you when you were walking backwards. Thought it would get a laugh in but had the opposite effect." Amity said as she bared her teeth in anger.
Luz placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder once more. Amity looked over at Luz and smiled. They made there way to their next classes in which they had to separate. Luz went about her day like she had 4 years ago. When leaving the school Luz said goodbye to her friends and made her way to where her mother had parked herself. Her day, although started off poorly, ended on a high note as she got to hang out with her mother and received the most heart warming messages from her beautiful girlfriend. However as she finished her day, her mind still held onto the past memories and Boscha's comments. Luz will never admit it but it bothered her greatly. She layer on her bed, staring at her ceiling as King snuggled up to her arm, thinking about the events that had transpired today. Luz sighed before closing her eyes and embracing the darkness is unconsciousness.
