I do not own Sailor Moon.
Chapter Sixteen
Seleine P.O.V.
"You want me to do what?" Setsuna screeched.
I flinched and rubbed my ears. I was surprised that Kunzite didn't flinch. He was just standing there like a stone as usual. "Sets. I can hear you just fine, there's no need to shout."
"Seleine. I can't just use that power whenever I want. There are many consequences. Too many consequences," she pleaded with me.
"Yes, and I will take full responsibility for those consequences. I understand that you don't want to endanger her, I really do, but we are running out of time," I said. I knew to ask her to use that power was a lot to ask of her, but I was out of options.
She closed her eyes and sighed. She wanted to fight with me, but she knew I was right. She opened her eyes and I saw defeat. "Fine. I'll do it. But you'll be taking the punishment for this, not me."
"Thank you. Both of you go now. I can feel things are about to go very bad tonight."
"Now?" Kunzite and Setsuna stared at me like I was insane. I nodded my head and they followed orders.
I watched as my two most trusted warriors walked away.
"Seleine?" I looked over my shoulder and to my surprise, there were the Inner Senshi.
"Hello. Why aren't you with Usagi? I know how hard it is to lose a bond, so I'm surprised to see you aren't with her," I said. They looked at me with sadness in their eyes.
"Usagi left," Ami said.
"We offered to go with her, but she said that she wanted to be alone," Makoto said looking down.
I felt for them. I really did. When I lost the outers, my heart broke. I fear my heart will break when I lose the Shittenou.
"I know how you are feeling. Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked them.
They looked at each other. They looked utterly helpless.
"I tell you what. Why don't you all go out and have some fun? You all have been stressing out about these battles. I think it's about time that you all relax and realize that there is more to life than war," I suggested.
Their eyes lit up with hope at my suggestion. I felt slightly less guilty for breaking their bonds seeing that they were still the innocent girls they once were.
"What about training?' Minako asked me.
"I think I can delay training by a few hours. You've all been through enough. You deserve some fun," I said. I gave them the address of my club. I left out the fact that I owned the club. No doubt Usagi and the Starlights would be suspicious. I decided to leave things like that and left to prepare my club for minors.
Rei P.O.V.
Seleine gave us the night to have fun. She must have a plan. Or she has to know something. Why would she just give us the night to have fun?
Whatever her reasoning was, I'm not going to think on it too hard. Tonight, we are going to have fun.
We were all at Minako's. We were getting ready to go to this neat club Seleine suggested for us to go to. Usagi was with us, but she was still sad.
"How about some fun music?" Minako suggested.
Minako turned on some bubblegum pop music. She started to dance like a dork. She jutted her hips out at the most random moments and was making major steps that were completely unnecessary. She managed to make Usagi smile. Usagi has been having some troubles with Mamoru. Mamoru doesn't trust Seleine at all. It's really taken a strain on Usagi.
Makoto got up and reached for Usagi's hands. Usagi started laughing and jumped up with Makoto. She started dancing. She looked so happy. It's the happiest I'd seen her in a long time.
I looked over at Ami and we both jumped up and started dancing. Minako grabbed my hands and started dancing with me. My heart skipped a beat when she grabbed my hands. I started dancing with her but couldn't help blushing slightly. My heart fluttered when she smiled at me. I looked down and ran my fingers through my hair and swayed my hips.
When the song ended, we all fell back on Minako's bed and giggled. We laid there for a moment and giggled. We enjoyed the moment at being so young. We enjoyed the brief moment of being normal girls. So much of our youth has been taken from us because we are senshi. The silence grew so tense that I could tell we were all thinking the same thing.
Minako sat up first and reached for Usagi's hands.
"Come Usagi. Let me do your makeup and hair," she said. I watched as she ran a brush through Usagi's hair. Ami did Makoto's hair as I waited for Minako to do mine.
I watched as Minako finished Usagi. Minako took the buns out and slightly curled it so it was wavy. She put black mascara on her to highlight her eyes and added some pink lipstick. Usagi got up and looked at herself in the mirror. She gasped. It's been so long since she left her hair down. She looked absolutely beautiful. Minako shoved her into the bathroom so she could change.
"Rei, come sit," she said leaning over the chair.
I gulped as I stood up and walked to the chair. I sat down and turned away from her. She ran a brush through my hair. Her touch sent tingles down my spine. When she was done with my hair, she turned me around. Her blue eyes studied my face. I couldn't pull away from her gaze. Her eyes entrapped me. She reached down into her makeup bag and pulled out what I assumed was eyeshadow.
I closed my eyes when she told me to. The brush tickled my eyes as it danced over my lids. I held back a giggle. I opened my eyes when she told me to. She studied me for a moment and happy with her work, put some mascara on me.
"Are you excited to see Yaten, Minako?" Makoto teased.
Minako grinned and turned to Makoto. "Of course. I can't wait to dance with him," she giggled.
I froze. I'd forgotten about those two. While they weren't officially a couple, they did have feelings for each other. I looked up at the ceiling and forced back tears.
"What's wrong, Rei?" Minako asked me concerned.
"Nothing. Some mascara got caught in my eye," I lied. I blinked a few times to play it off.
"Don't worry, Rei. We'll find you a boy to dance with," she grinned.
"Are you going to ask Taiki to dance?" I asked Ami. I didn't want the attention on me any longer.
Ami blushed and looked down at Makoto's hair. "I-"
"Of course she's not. She prefers to have intelligent conversations with him," Minako teased.
Ami turned red with anger and threw a pillow at Minako.
"Hey!" Minako giggled.
The door opened and in walked Usagi. Minako gave her a baby blue dress to wear and she looked absolutely stunning. The dress went to just above her knee and she wore white wedges.
I heard Minako squeal and turned to her." Yay! We're all ready!"
I turn and look into the mirror. She curled my hair and gave me loose curls. She gave me a smoky eye and dark red lipstick. I looked amazing. I couldn't believe it.
I turned to her and smiled. I hadn't noticed, but she changed into a yellow dress. She had put her hair up into a high bun and let a few strands of hair frame her face.
I was frozen on the spot. She looked stunning. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She clapped her hands and walked us downstairs.
Usagi P.O.V.
When we left Minako's house, I suggested picking up Naru. It had been so long since I spent time with her. I felt bad about it actually. Before I became Sailor Moon, we had spent all of our time together. I missed her a great deal but found myself out of time. I was constantly fighting in battles and attempting to study, while not succeeding in it in the slightest.
After we had picked up Naru, we headed to this club the girls were talking about. It was only when we showed up to the club that I realized it was Seleine's. Before, I hadn't had a chance to actually look at the place. It was huge! Seleine really went all out when making this club. The stage was quite large, and the dance floor was huge as well. There was a little bar in the center of the room, so people could get their beverages and watch the show. There wasn't a band playing tonight. There was just a lot of dance music. The lights were dim but had a purple tint to them. All around the sides of the club, there were couches and tables for people to sit at.
We weren't in the building for more than five minutes when Minako dragged me out on the dancefloor. Rei came with us, but Ami and Makoto sat at a table. Within seconds, we all started dancing. I twirled and shook my hips to the beat of the song. I haven't had so much fun in such a long time. Everyone's heads turned towards the door. I followed their gaze and saw the Three Lights walk in.
Taiki saw Ami sitting at the table with Makoto and went to sit with her. Minako ran up and brought Yaten and Seiya to the dancefloor. We danced for a little while longer. Then a slower song came on. I recognized it as 'Dance to This.'
Minako grabbed Yaten and started slow dancing with him. Seiya offered me his hand. I looked at it, then him for a moment before I took it. He put his hands on my waist and started dancing. I couldn't look him in the eyes. My eyes were just glued to his shirt collar. I looked at the people around us. They all looked happy. I looked at Minako. She was smiling. Her gaze was locked with Yaten. I realized how much I wanted that feeling again. She glanced over at me and nodded her head.
I looked up at Seiya and saw him watching me intently. My heart began to flutter. I gulped and grabbed his hands. I stretched our arms out and gradually started pulling them up as I danced. I tilted my head back and closed my eyes. I moved my hips and swayed to the rhythm of the song. Everything felt right. This felt right. Every time I was with Seiya things just felt perfect.
I looked at Seiya and saw he was smiling. The song began to slow down. He gradually pulled me closer to him. We were practically touching. I could feel his breath on my cheek. He brought his hands up to my face. He lightly stroked my cheek. His hands were so soft. I couldn't take my eyes away from him. It was like we were completely alone. I enjoyed it. I never thought I would enjoy being alone, but if I was alone with Seiya, I was happy.
Seiya brought his head down. I leaned in and kissed him. The music began to fade away. The room began to spin. I know it's super cliché and disgusting, but it was just Seiya and I. I drew my hands up in his hair. He put his hands on my waist and pulled me slightly closer. I didn't want him to ever let me go. We pulled away and put our heads together. He put his arms around me and hugged me. I wrapped my arms around him and rested my cheek on his shoulder. We began swaying to the music again.
I opened my eyes and slightly lifted my chin. I saw Mamoru standing behind us. He had been watching us the whole time. I froze. His eyes were filled with betrayal.
Mamoru turned around and walked away. I pulled away from Seiya and chased after him. I called after him, but he didn't stop. I finally caught up to him when we reached the alley and pulled him back.
"How could you?" He asked me incredulously. "Do you realize what you have just done?"
"I didn't mean-"
"You just jeopardized our entire future. I get that we have been having problems here recently, but we could have fixed that. I could have made you see," he said. He condescendingly looked down at me.
"I love him!" I cried. I gasped and clamped a hand over my mouth. He didn't even look hurt, just angry.
"What about Chibi Usa? Is he worth losing her?" He asked me with hard eyes.
"Back off Chiba," a voice said.
I looked behind me and saw Naru was standing behind me. I looked at her. Her arms were folded over her chest. She was leaning up against the building.
"This isn't your concern, Naru," Mamoru said. My eyes drifted back to the ground.
"If Usagi is involved, it is my concern," she fired back. She had always been passionate, but this was different. She was being protective.
"We'll continue this conversation later," Mamoru said dismissively. He walked off. I wanted to chase after him, but Naru grabbed my hand and pulled me back.
"He can wait till tomorrow Usagi," she pleaded with me. I nodded my head and walked back inside with her.
I peeked a glance at my best friend. She had been the first person I became friends with. She had been my friend before I became a princess. She had been my friend before I became Sailor Moon. I don't know what I would have done without her.
"Naru," I said. She turned to me with an affectionate smile. "Why did you-"
Then suddenly there was a crash. We fully entered the building, and I looked everywhere. Diamonde was here. I stood back from the stairs and crouched. He was laughing.
"Seleine. I know you're here," he said.
"Naru, you have to go, now," I said. Something flashed over her eyes. I couldn't tell what it was before it was gone.
"I'm not leaving without you," she said. I opened my mouth to attempt to convince her to leave. Then I heard screams. I looked over my shoulder and saw Esmaraude and Rubeus torturing my Senshi.
I turned my head to Naru and saw fear in her eyes. I cursed under my breath and stood up and transformed.
"Diamonde!" I shouted.
He turned to me. "Well, there's one little princess."
I was about to fire a snarly comeback when a flash flooded my vision. I jumped over Naru and protected her from the power he was throwing at us. I looked at Naru and saw something that wasn't fear in her eyes. It was anger.
"Bloody hell. I was hoping to keep this cover for a little while longer," she said with annoyance.
She wriggled her way out from under me. She stood in front of me.
"Diamonde!" She shouted.
"Pfft. Don't bother me you pitiful human," he said. He threw lightning at her. She didn't move. It struck her.
"Naru!" I cried.
The smoke cleared, and it wasn't Naru standing there. A red-head was kneeling in her place. She stood up. The woman was Seleine. I couldn't believe it. Realization suddenly settled in. Naru was Seleine. My vision began to go dark.
