I do not own Sailor Moon.
Chapter Seventeen
Seleine P.O.V.
"Well isn't this a surprise. Tell me, how did you cloak your aura like that? I didn't have the slightest idea that pitiful human was you," Diamonde said.
I wasn't looking at him. I didn't give a damn what he thought. I was watching my sister. My poor sister whom I might have just shattered. Sailor Moon's eyes had gone blank. I never meant to do this to her. I had planned on bringing this out slowly, making sure she was sane. She was most definitely not sane.
I looked at her stomach. She was bleeding. She took that attack to save me. If she knew I was Naru, would she have saved me?
My vision blurred in anger. I turned to Diamonde. Rubeus and Esmerade were flanking him. Saphir was nowhere to be seen. "I'd tell you, but you won't live much longer."
I fell back into the abyss that I hadn't dared to use until now. I appeared between Rubeus and Esmeraude. I reached my arms out and forced my sais out. I slit their throats without looking.
Diamonde didn't move. He was still watching Sailor Moon. She was still kneeling on the ground looking at where I was just moments ago. I sauntered over to face him. He wasn't grinning, tears had formed in his eyes. Something wasn't right.
"Where's Saphir?" I asked dreading the answer. He looked up at me. The tears started spooling out.
"Naru?" I heard a fragile voice say behind me. I turned and saw Usagi frantically searching for the friend she never really had. Her eyes were still blank. She looked like a lost child that was searching for her mother in a crowd of unfamiliar people. "Naru? Quit hiding Naru. I give up."
I took a step towards Usagi but stopped when I heard a sob. I turned back to Diamonde and saw he was sobbing. "Take care of her. Cherish her," he said.
I was about to ask about Saphir again when I heard a crunching noise. Diamonde's eyes had gone wide. He looked down at his chest and he was bleeding profusely. Blood was coming out of his mouth. I looked back into his eyes and saw regret before they became lifeless.
He started falling towards me, and I caught him just before he hit the ground. He had a hole in his back. I looked up and saw a woman holding his heart. She held it like it was a trophy. Her hair was pure white. Her eyes were also white but had black pupils. She looked at Diamonde's still beating heart. She opened her mouth and out sprouted her fangs as she took a bite of his heart. Blood slithered down her white dress.
"Oh Lilith, you do scare the living daylights out of me," a voice said.
Lilith. Horror filled me as it dawned on me that I was staring at the true dark queen. Beryl was no comparison to the evil aura surrounding this woman. Her lovely entourage was also in close company. Hekate and Nyx appeared out of the far corner. I didn't take my eyes off of Lilith.
I felt the Inner Senshi and Starlights form behind me. Sailor Moon was nowhere to be found.
Lilith's pale eyes raked over my body. It felt like thousands of spiders were crawling all over me. Her eyes finally met mine. I thought I'd see something human in them. Anger, rage, lust, anything, but was greeted with nothing. She was evil incarnate.
"So, this is the beautiful princess I've heard so much about," she purred. There it was. It was there for only half a second. But I sensed jealousy in those words. She didn't sound human, but knowing that she still had some human qualities meant she could be beaten. She walked towards me. I couldn't stop the gulp from forming in the back of my throat. Just because she could be beaten doesn't mean it doesn't scare the hell out of me. "Your f-friends were right. You're absolutely stunning."
She waved a hand and I slightly turned my head. Aside from Kunzite, my Shittenou were standing in front of me with dark tendrils around them. I understood what Diamonde had meant because Saphir was standing there with them. Diamonde knew he was going to lose because he'd already lost his brother.
I instantly ran toward them but was pushed back. I stuck my hand out in front of me. There was a wall there.
"Let them go," I said with the most menacing voice I could muster.
A grin came to Lilith's lips. "Powerful too. I get shivers just from hearing your voice," she said. Hekate and Nyx giggled in the corner.
"Seleine! Get out of here!'' Nephrite screamed.
Lilith's grin faded. She turned to my Shittenou. "Did I give you permission to speak?" She asked. The Shittenou started trembling under her stare. She raised one of her hands and they suddenly started screaming.
I ran to the barrier. I was pushed back. I summoned all of the power I could and started punching the barrier. It didn't budge, but I couldn't stop. My hand was bleeding, but their screams still rang in my ear. I couldn't stop. I just kept punching and punching.
I suddenly heard a crack. I pulled back and screamed as I punched as hard as I could. I fell through the barrier.
Lilith watched me as I moved with intrigue in her eyes.
"Didn't they tell you? I'm a succubus that can siphon off your magic," I said through my teeth. I stepped forward, but she was gone. I felt her behind me. I threw my leg back and swung around with full force. I connected with her rib cage and threw her back into a pillar.
It suddenly dawned on me that we were in my club, and I would have to pay for all of the damages. The Inner Senshi ran past me toward the Shittenou. Jupiter reached for a tendril and screamed. She fell to her knees and was panting.
"It shocked me!" She screeched.
I groaned as I went to my Shittenou. I grabbed a hold of a tendril and was greeted with a shock of my own. I held my grip and began to siphon off the magic that was holding them there. They disappeared, and the Inner Senshi caught the Shittenou as they began to fall.
I caught Saphir as he collapsed against me. He went limp in my arms. I handed him off to the person closest to me. I didn't bother looking to see who got him. I turned to my Shittenou to see how they were doing. They were still weak.
"Naru?" I heard too little too late. I turned and saw Sailor Moon reach for Hekate thinking she was Naru. Hekate drew back and slapped her hard.
I surged forward but was beaten by the Outer Senshi. Neptune and Saturn were holding her up and hauling her back as Uranus jumped in to protect them. Hekate's claws came out, and Uranus danced with her to get away from Usagi.
Uranus tripped, and Hekate was about to bring her claws down when I threw my sai. My sai took off her hand. She screamed so loud that all the senshi had to close their ears.
Then I heard a chuckle. A chuckle that sounded like thunder. A chuckle I feared when I was a child.
"That's my little princess," a voice said.
I looked towards Lilith. I hadn't even noticed she'd gotten back up. And then a man appeared. Not just any man, but my father.
"Hakai," I uttered. He's who I get my red hair from. He was tall. Taller than Setsunna or Mamoru. He wasn't buff, but he was built well. He had tattoos at the corner of his eye. The tattoos continued down his bare chest. He was also incredibly pale. His pants hung low on him and I fought the urge to tell him to put some clothes on.
"Now is that any way to speak to your father?" He asked me mockingly. He grinned till every single one of his pearly white teeth showed.
The Outer Senshi tried to pull Sailor Moon farther away but was stuck. They couldn't reach her. Uranus banged on the barrier but couldn't get through.
Hakai walked over to Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon collapsed to the ground in fear. Hakai bent down and grabbed her chin. She slowly rose.
"My precious Serenity," he breathed. "How I've missed you."
I couldn't move. Every fiber in my body was telling me to grab Usagi and run, but my body wasn't moving. It's like my body was in a trance. My instincts were screaming danger at me.
"Who are you?" She asked.
He grinned. "You don't recognize your father?"
A shudder went through her body. "Seleine told me you were dead."
He gasped. "Of course, she'd tell you that. After all, your mother did kill me when you were just an infant."
"You tried to smother Serenity in her sleep. Of course, she killed you," I growled.
He turned toward me. Hekate and Nyx took a step back.
"Now now Seleine, this is no time for one of your tall tales," he said in a very low voice. I remembered this voice. This was the voice he'd use before he beat the shit out of me and brought me to the brink of death. "Come Serenity, we can discuss all that happened when you were just a baby." He extended his hand to her.
"Like hell you are!" I screamed. Suddenly every over-protective big sister aspect invaded me. I surged through but was stopped by Hekate. She started throwing tendrils my way. The rage inside of me burst. I felt every tendril scrape my body. I could feel myself bleeding, but I didn't care. Lilith's tendrils were much stronger than Hekate's. Hekate swung her arm at me, and I ducked. I thrust my arm forward and yanked her heart out. She dropped to the floor, and I threw her heart onto her.
The barrier fell, and the Senshi came raiding in. I made it three feet before Nyx stepped in front of me and suddenly there were ten of her. I couldn't decipher which one was real. I pushed my way through but was only pushed back by more clones. I looked over one of her shoulders and saw Hakai whispering in her ear.
"Usagi!" I screamed. She turned toward me but Hakai pulled her back. He continued whispering in her ear. Then Usagi's eyes rolled back.
"No no no," I said repeatedly.
Hakai drew back from her and grinned. Somehow Venus managed to break through. The Nyx's suddenly vanished, and I ran toward Usagi. I grabbed a hold of her shoulders and shook her.
"Usagi?" I asked.
She opened her eyes, but they weren't her eyes. I felt a hand grab me and pull me back. I fell on a body and saw it was Uranus. I looked up to see Venus touch Usagi's shoulder. Venus apparently saw something in Usagi that I didn't because she then hugged her. That's when Usagi plunge her sword into Venus over and over again.
I heard a scream. That was the last thing I heard before I got up and attacked Usagi. She didn't have time to react when I sunk my blade into her stomach. I pulled it out in time for Hakai to grab me by the throat.
He hauled me away from her. He threw me to the ground and stood above me. "Now's not the time for a Moon Princess to die," he said. Then he too vanished.
I sat there for a moment and contemplated what he said. Then I remembered Venus. I jumped up and ran to her. Setsunna was kneeling before her.
"Seleine we have to get her to the hospital, now," she said.
"Move I can heal her," I said.
"No Seleine. You'll die," she said. She turned and looked at me.
"Did you accomplish what I asked?" I asked her. She nodded her head.
"Jadeite, Zoisite, take her now," I commanded.
"Ami and I will go with her," Rei said.
"There's no point. She's gone," Zoisite said as he pulled away from a lifeless Venus.
I turned. I forced both of my legs to move. I forced my hand to rise up and connect with Uranus's face. Uranus fell to the ground. I slapped her hard. It was a miracle her head didn't spin. I was in no control of my strength right now.
"Seleine," Setsunna pleaded.
I kneeled down, so I was just hovering above her. "Don't ever save me instead of another ever again," I seethed."I am not worth saving."
This is my fault. I should have been more careful. I could hear sobbing. I couldn't bare look at them. They lost a friend. They lost two today. They lost a princess and it was my fault.
I stood up and turned to the Senshi and Shittenou. The Senshi and Starlights were all in tears. The Inners were on their knees and sobbing profusely. The Starlights and Outers were keeping their cool when all they wanted to do was scream. All I wanted to do was scream until I couldn't any longer.
"Rest up, we have a trip to make."
