Chapter Thirty
Seleine P.O.V
I strode away from my niece. My heart ached. I wanted to be more than a stranger to her, but I see now that I mean little to her. I no longer have a purpose here. She has her family to give her guidance.
"Seleine?"
"I'm leaving. Feel free to come with me or wait till after the pyre. I don't really care what you decide," I told Pluto. She grabbed a hold of my arm stopping me.
"Wait, Seleine. You're not making any sense," she said. Concern glowed in her eyes.
"I'm no longer needed here. Small Lady has her family now. I've spent enough time here and now it's time for me to go back home," I said.
"Her family?" Pluto turned around. "Is that-"
I didn't wait to hear her question. I turned on my heel and headed toward the palace. I thought about what I needed to do. I will have the Shittenou talk to the senshi and tell them the news. I knew how to get back to the present. I didn't need Pluto's help.
Kunzite appeared before me.
"I'm going home. You can stay behind with the senshi and give them the news that after the pyre they are to come back. Nephrite, Jadeite, and Zoisite will accompany me back home in half an hour," I said walking past him.
I didn't want to be here any longer. There was a war going on in the present and the Starlights can't handle it forever. I walked up the steps to my room. I walked into my room and was flooded with the memories that happened just a few days ago. Uranus and I together. My sister sitting with me and helping me get ready for the ball.
A tear trickled down my cheek. I didn't want to remember this. It would be much easier if none of this had happened. This was a mistake. I never should have come here. If I hadn't the queen would still be alive.
The door to my room swung open.
"Your leaving?"
I sighed. "Yes Uranus." I turned around to look at her. Her face was bright red. She clenched her fists to her sides. Her entire body was shaking with adrenaline. "You avoid me for the past day, then you spend hours with Small Lady preparing her for her coronation, and now you all of a sudden decide to leave because someone she trusts one hundred percent walks through the door?
"What is wrong with you? How does running away solve any of your problems?" She continued to seethe.
"We have been gone from our time far too long. Small Lady no longer needs my assistance so it's best that I leave now. You and the rest of the senshi are allowed to stay till after the pyre, but then you must come back. Don't forget we're in the middle of a war," I said.
"We're allowed to stay? I don't recall needing your permission. We aren't your senshi, we're Serenity's senshi and we do as she wishes," she spat.
"You're completely right. You're not my senshi. Go ahead and stay if you like," I choked out. I tried to hold back the tears, but she really dug the knife in on that one. "You're not mine to command so do what you'd like. But while you're here mourning the loss of the queen that you didn't know anymore, I will be back home trying to save all of your lives."
A knock pounded on the door.
"Enter," I commanded. Nephrite, Jadeite, and Zoisite sauntered into the room. Their eyes darted between Uranus and I. "Since you're not mine, get out. My Shittenou are here."
Hurt flashed in her eyes. I turned on my heel and headed toward my balcony. I closed my eyes and began focusing on my breathing. I couldn't afford to think about what Uranus said. Teleportation was difficult when you were going back in time, now I have to take three people along with me. This was really going to test my skills. If I don't concentrate, who knows where we'll end up?
I don't know when Uranus left, but when I felt the presence of my three warriors behind me, I started the spell. Telepathically, I pulled the threads in the air that would take us back home. A wave of vertigo crashed into my body as we left the future plane.
It took us a mere thirty seconds before we were back in the present. The smell of smoke invaded my senses. I opened my eyes. I turned my head as I took in the destruction around us. Buildings and houses were destroyed, fires were set everywhere. The sky was dark.
"Seleine!" A voice cried.
I turned around and saw Kakyuu, Fighter, and Healer running toward me. They looked horrific. Kakyuu's dress was in pieces. Fighter and Healer were covered in blood.
"What happened here? Where are Endymion and Maker? Where's Saphir?" I asked.
They all flinched. Kakyuu's eyes adjusted from sorrow to serious. "Saphir is resting. With his brother gone, his magic has been depleted massively. Maker is dead. Lilith killed Maker. Endymion is with Serenity," she reported. "After Pluto sent us a message about Endymion, we were attacked. Serenity captured Endymion and now he fights with her."
I looked to Fighter and Healer. I could feel the ache in their hearts even from afar. I stepped up to them. They took a small step back. I placed a hand on one of their shoulders. I closed my eyes and brought the pain into my own soul.
I was already feeling enough pain and sorrow, but I could shut off my pain. They could not. I let go and sighed. They looked up at me. They narrowed their eyes and then recognition flashed.
"Seleine!" Healer cried. She wrapped her arms around me and cried on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry. I can't believe I forgot you. Please forgive me!"
Her sobs reverberated through my body. The intensity of her sorrow had me crashing to the ground. I pulled her to my side and rested her head on my shoulder and let her cry.
"What did you do to us?" Fighter asked me.
I looked up and saw anger in her eyes. "I took some of your pain away. I could feel your pain was overwhelming you. So, I took some of it for you. You will still grieve as normal, but you won't break down and possibly die like you would have," I told her. Her nostrils flared as she took in what I did. "I also gave you your memories back."
She sucked in a breath to yell at me when Kakyuu put a hand on her shoulder. Fighter looked back at her and Kakyuu shook her head.
"Healer?" I asked quietly. She was still sobbing but pulled away and calmed down a bit. "I forgive you for forgetting me. It's not your fault for losing your memories of me. I am still your friend and I will always be your friend."
"I was so horrible to you when I first met you," she whispered. One single tear fell down her cheek. I wiped the tear away and tried to dry her face with my hands. "Who would have guessed that with my memories being taken away that I would hate my best friend?"
I smiled and smoothed out her hair. She sniffled and stood back up. I stood up and dusted myself off. I turned to my Shittenou. They nodded their heads, guessing what I was about to do.
I turned back to the Starlights and Kakyuu. "Stand behind me and make no sudden movements," I ordered. I turned away and they moved to stand by the Shittenou.
I closed my eyes and began to release my energy. I thought about Kylian. I thought about my sister accusing me of being a whore. I thought about Uranus. I thought about Pluto. I thought about Serenity. I thought about the hatred I had toward my mother for convincing me she never loved me. All of the anger and sorrow I pushed down inside me was coming out.
I screamed and shot my hands out. Black lightning shot through my fingers and into the sky. I dropped my hands and shot them back up creating a fearsome wind. I continued to create disastrous weather. Only when I felt similar energies surrounding me did I stop.
"Show yourself," I commanded.
Nine figures stepped out from the shadows. Seven familiar women dropped to a knee in front of me. The seven women shared no ill will.
"Eudial, Mimete, Tellu, Viluy, Ciprine, Ptilol, Kaorinite; you may rise," I said. They stood up and looked up to me. "You've been awakened by my father and sister; do you wish me harm?"
"We do not Mistress Seleine," Kaorinite said. She stepped away from her students. "We serve you and only you."
I looked to the other girls and they bowed their heads. They looked exactly as I remembered them. They're still so young. I dipped my head. I turned to the other two women.
"Nehelenia, Galaxia. You have also been resurrected to aide them in the fight against good. Do you wish to fight me?" I asked.
"The grin on their faces told me their answers. I turned to The Witches 5. "Protect my allies. Do not assist me in this fight." I ordered them. They shimmered behind me and put up a barrier. Good girls, I taught them well.
"Well then, now I can blow off some steam without worrying about the damage," I smirked.
The women in front of me flinched. Galaxia called her sword and Nehelenia created an orb of energy. They both charged.
