It has been a full week now and Thor was anxious to see Loki. He was dreading the inevitable betrayal but was sincerely hoping his brother wasn't playing anymore games. He had asked his friends to let him go alone unadmitedly scared of the results. Sif was in half-minds to let Thor go alone, worried about him being tricked again but also, she wanted him to see that Loki is just like everyone says.
He took slow tantalising steps towards the dungeons not even looking at the guards as they let him past and step into the huge wooden doorway. His breathing slowed as he rounded the corner looking into Loki's cell from the distance. There was no sign of him. As he approached closer his heart was shattered into a million pieces at the sight.
There was Loki – Clear as day, sat on the plush lounger his feet up eating grapes as smug as ever. That Bastard! Loki's emerald eyes met with Thor's icy eyes and he just smirked at him before popping another green grape from the bunch into his mouth.
Anger filled Thors mind as Loki stood from where he sat to face the God.
"Ah brother," Loki chimed, placing the grapes back into the bowl on the table next to him. "Come to see me at last?"
"How could you?" Thor asked in complete disbelief. He knew this was going to happen but it still struck him.
"What? Trick you? Manipulate you? Come on, you should be used to it by now."
That's true, Thor thought as he let the anger wash over him. I'm going to kill him!
"Just let me rot in peace." Loki seethed at Thor when he got no reply from the God.
"You'd Like that wouldn't you? To get what you wanted?" Thor's voice became louder as he words progressed. "Fandral was right. You're just a child."
Loki smirked at Thor. "Of course." He muttered under his breath. "I'm always less than you."
Thor came right up to the cells golden border to face Loki. "Tell me what the Chitauri wanted with you?" His brother's head was now on straight. He had gotten over the betrayal and was now more focused on interrogating Loki.
"I cant tell you that." Loki chuckled as Thor came ever so closer to the border of his cell. "Just leave brother."
"You are not my brother." Thor spat, breaking the barrier and entering the cell. Loki paced back slowly away from him. "Do you have any idea what you have done?" Thor repeated the question he had asked months ago.
"Of course, I do! Do you know what I've done?" Loki flipped the question, still stepping away from his brother.
"All I know is that you're a child and a coward." Thor spat again. Storming towards his adoptive brother. Loki Avoided him, rounding around the other side of the cell, Thor still hot on his tail.
"Why are you wasting your time on me!" Loki shouted at Thor as he got ever so closer to him. "Just leave me here to die!"
Thor wasn't waiting up, he wanted Loki to pay for everything he had done. Loki's eyes widened as Thors' fist swung towards him. He easily ducked it, spinning to face his opponent.
"Why can't you just leave well-enough alone!" Loki screamed as Thor advanced on him again. This time swinging multiple punched at Loki, who was left only to defend himself by ducking and dodging his attacks.
"Enough," Loki pleaded, raising his hands in front of him. "Don't do this."
Thor didn't listen though as he lunged at Loki. He dodged the lunge but Thor had already armed a right hook which caught Loki square in the chest; or at least it should have. Thor rose to his full height looking at Loki confused as he watched the emerald light dim where he had hit Loki.
"Oh, Brother." Loki's sad eyes met Thors as the emerald light consumed him and he was gone.
At first Thor had thought Loki had escaped as he scanned the brightly lit cell only to be surprised when he saw a lump on the bed.
"Loki?" Thor asked unsure as he approached the bed slowly. His eyes were glued to the mop of sweaty ebony hair. The form was unmoving as Thor rounded the bed to fully take in the body on the bed.
Loki's eyes were screwed shut in pain and his breathing was coming out in short sharp breaths as his hands clutched the blanket that was pulled protectively around him. The sweat that had accumulated on his forehead was causing his hair to stick to him and made him look even more pale than he already was. Thor sat down on the bed next to his brother taking him in fully, his heart dropping. So, he wasn't lying.
"Why are you wasting your time on me!" Thor remembered illusion Loki pleading. "Just leave me here to die!"
Loki looked like death. No. He looked like he actually was dying!
Thor raised his hand up to Loki's forehead causing both of them to flinch away from each other. Thor because of the heat coming from Loki's skin and Loki because of the sudden unfamiliar touch.
Thor could only watch as Loki's eyes started to flutter open, finally focusing on Thor's face.
"Brother?" Loki's weak voice sobbed and Thor could only watch as Loki's eyes rolled back into his head and his breathing slowing.
"Loki?" Thor asked worriedly, gently shaking his now shivering body. Loki's pulse was getting weaker by the minute and Thor began to panic. He needed to do something and quick.
