I do not own Fifty Shades Trilogy ... Chapter 39 : Two hearts blending into one soul

...

VERY IMPORTANT Author's NOTE: I'm writing this note to clarify the timeline, dear readers. This chapter picks up right after the second part of the previous chapter (chapter 38). So, after this scene:

The woman lives in Syros... Who exactly?

Well, the great great grand daughter of the witch who had cursed Christian's family of course...

Was this plain coincidence or was it fate?

.

... Hours later ...

Andreas Liakos scanned his surroundings, while sitting in a coffee shop. He was still in Syros, and was planning on paying the great great grand daughter of the witch who had cursed Christian's ancestor centuries ago, a visit.

He knew he was taking a huge risk, especially going alone without back-up. However, he couldn't take any of his men with him. They were loyal to Andreas... for now, but if they discovered that he purposely ignored Parthenios' orders, and went behind his back to meet up with this woman, they'd rapport it to their true leader.

He couldn't let that happen, because if his leader found out what he'd been up to, Andreas would lose everything. Parthenios had the power to take away everything from him and his family, including their possessions, their membership as 'Phoenixes' and their status in Tinos.

Their leader doesn't take betrayal lightly...

So, no. Andreas had to do this alone. He was determined to find another way for Ana and Christian... He choose live above everything else, even if that meant betraying his leader. It pained him, but he had to do this.

Half an hour ago, Andreas had knocked on her door, but no one was home. He then knocked on her neighbor's door. An old woman opened the door and asked him who he was and what he needed.

"I'm an old friend of Demetra's... we know each other from school. I was in town, so I thought why not pay her a visit? So, here I am." he lied to the neighbor.

"Miss Marinos is not home yet" the old woman told him.

"So... what time does she usually comes home? Is she at work now?"

The old woman nodded." Yes, she's at work... uhumm, you can wait if you like. Miss Marinos will be home soon." she told him." You can wait for her at the coffee shop down stairs... if you sit by the window, you'll be able to see her when she goes up the stairs."

"Good... thank you so much" Andreas commented, and smiled at the neighbor." I'll come back later then..."

He was already walking away, but then he turned back." Wait... wait! How will I recognize her?"

The old woman smiled." Oh... you will recognize her... she's a petite young lady, and has the most beautiful smile."

"OK" he replied, and that's when she shut her front door.

And so here Andreas was, waiting for a petite young woman with the beautiful smile.

At a certain point, he got so bored and was just about to order another pie, when he saw her...

His mouth fell open slightly, as he saw the most beautiful vision ever...

The woman was petite, her white dress flowed gloriously, her long raven black hair fell down her shoulders, her skin tone was a pretty light brown color and her eyes were absolutely mesmerizing.

It took him a few moments to come back to 'earth', and when he finally did, Andreas stood up, paid the bill and followed the young woman up the stairs.

While walking behind the woman, Andreas couldn't help but admire her long black locks. He was about to call out to her, but then she turned round the corner.

He was amazed how such a petite woman walked so fast.

"Miss Marinos! Can I speak with you?" he said, when he caught up to her.

They had reached the narrow hall. The moment she had heard him, the petite woman turned her head and as their eyes met, Andreas looked in the most gorgeous dark brown eyes he'd ever seen in his life.

She scrunched her brows together, and asked." Yes?"

Andreas cleared his throat and said." Miss Marinos, my name is Andreas Liakos and I'm here on behalf of Anastasia Steele."

The petite, raven haired beauty shook her head and said." What? I don't know who that is, mister."

"Can you invite me in your home, so we can have a private conversation?"

Miss Marinos rolled her eyes, and said." Seriously? You expect me to invite a total stranger in my home?"

"I'm no stranger... Miss, you know us... I'm Parthenios Niarxos' second in command... I'm a member of the 'Phoenixes' from Tinos. I believe you know his cousin? Christian Grey..."

As those words tumbled from his lips, the young woman's eyes widened, and then she swiftly grabbed Andreas by his arm, wanting to twist it. However, he was faster than her and grabbed her instead.

"Miss! Stop it! I don't wanna fight!" he exclaimed, and held her tightly so she was unable to move.

"Yeah, right!" She hissed, while glaring up at him with her gorgeous dark brown eyes." All you Phoenixes have done to my family is hunt us down like animals!"

She was 5 foot 2, and Andreas 6 foot 2, so you can imagine how easy it was for him to hold her in place.

"Miss Marinos, please listen to me... I'm not here to hurt you" he pleaded, his blue eyes boring into hers." I'm here to ask for your help. Please, hear me out?"

"How did you find me?! I did a good job with hiding my identity from you people!" she spat, still glaring at Andreas.

He smiled at her." I've got my people" Andreas replied." So... I will let you go now. Promise that you won't fight me?"

She responded by raising an eyebrow." OK."

But the moment Andreas let the petite beauty go, she kicked and punched him.

"Aarghh!" Andreas didn't expect it, and fell backwards.

She was petite, and wasn't that strong, but man she was fast.

It took him a few moments to recover, and when he did, Andreas stormed after her. She had already unlocked her front door and was just about to shut it, when Andreas put his foot in between, thus she was unable to close and lock the door.

"Miss Marinos! Please... I didn't come here to hurt you! Please, believe me." Andreas pleaded, while wiping away the blood from his face.

"You're a liar! Why should I believe anything you have to say?! Huh?" he heard the beautiful young lady say, her voice shaky." Y... you 'Phoenixes' have been hunting my ancestors for centuries! It's your belief that my family are all evil! But tha... that's not true"

"Miss Marinos, please... just give me a chance. I'm not like the others." Andreas explained." My leader, Parthenios forbade me to go and search for you, and yet here I am... you know why?"

She didn't reply, so Andreas repeated." Do you know why, Miss?"

"No! And I don't really care" She hissed at him." Do you know my mom had to flee Greece because of you people? You were hunting her and her sisters! You are the evil ones, not us!"

"I am so sorry about that, Miss. I really am. Open the door, so we can have a decent conversation... please"

"No"

"I beg of you... I'm here, disobeying my one and only leader, because I believe that what your ancestor did centuries ago, has nothing to do with you" he said, his voice gentle." Please, Miss Marinos... I need you. A young woman named Anastasia Steele, and the Niarxos' line... they all need you, Miss"

"What are you talking about? I cannot help you! OK?!" She said." Just let me be... please. If you're not like 'them', please let me be."

As those words reached his ears, Andreas felt so defeated. He could never force her to help him, so he decided to let her be.

.

.

.

While Andreas had the encounter with Miss Marinos, Christian and Taylor were on the speed boat, following Ana.

They almost reached the shore, when Christian and the others called out to Ana. However, she was not responding to them.

From a short distance, Christian saw that Ana was looking at something.

He gasped aloud, as he noticed the bird... Oh My God! Is it a Phoenix?!

As a young boy, his grandmother used to show him pictures of such a rare bird.

"The day you see this bird, is the day you and 'Agathe' will be connected forever, two hearts blending into one soul, and the invisible marks you carried all your lives becoming visible.

After that, you and your soulmate must break the Niarxos' family curse."

Christian's mouth fell open slightly, as he watched how Ana carefully walked towards the magnificent bird, his eyes wide.

"Oh my God…" he uttered, and grabbed Taylor by his upper arm." Ana and I must break the curse now… there's no way around it."

So, these three events happened simultaneously…

Ana seeing the bird, Christian watching Ana and the bird and Andreas speaking with Demetra Marinos.

.

...At Demetra's apartment...

.

Andreas felt horrible, because he was unable to convince the young woman to help him...

He didn't find another way for Ana and Christian to break the family curse..

Andreas was so disappointed. However, he would never in a million years use force on the beauty to reach his goal. Never.

He knew that in the past, the other 'Phoenixes' had indeed hunted down her ancestors. But that was centuries ago! Right? Not recent! Then why does this beauty think they still do it?!

Andreas had no idea…

"Miss Marinos… please" he made a last attempt, however she shouted.

"Get the fuck out of my apartment building!"

As a sigh escaped his lips, Andreas decided to give it a rest. But just as he was about to move his foot from the doorway, he heard Demetra scream." Aaaahhh!"

"Miss Marinos! Are you alright?!" he exclaimed, and noticed how she had let the door go.

Andreas watched in horror, as Demetra Marinos screamed from pain." Oh, God… help me! It hurts!"

He instantly grabbed the petite beauty in his arms, and watched helplessly as tears pooled in her pretty eyes. "Miss Marinos!"

He then effortlessly lifted her up in his arms and carried her to the red couch." Miss! I'll call the paramedics right away!" he informed her and dialed the number with trembling fingers.

At the same time that that was happening in Demetra's apartment, Ana was petting the Phoenix ( the magnificent bird) over the head. It was then, when Christian reached the shore and stormed towards Ana and the bird!

"Ana!" he shouted, while admiring the beautiful bird.

The second Christian reached the two, he grabbed Ana's hand…

And after that, both Ana and Christian screamed from pain!

"Stop it, please... it hurts!"

Ana felt a burning sensation on her back and so did Christian! It was like the skin on their backs has been set on fire!

Ana and Christian both began to say." My back! It's burning… help"

At the same time at Demetra's apartment, she looked Andreas with pleading eyes and said." My back! It's burning… look at it, please. Help me!"

She frantically began to tear off of her jacket… Demetra sat up, and impatiently tore off of her blouse and said." My back… it's on fire. Water, please!"

Andreas was so shocked and almost panicked, but took the time to take in deep breaths." Miss, let me take a look at it first, OK?"

She nodded, so he carefully turned her, so he could look at her beautifully curved back…

"Oh my God, Miss Marinos" he uttered, as he saw what was on her back." Do you have two small tattoos on your back?!"

Demetra shook her head in response." No, I don't! What are you talking about?" she replied, while tears spilled from her eyes…

It hurt so much… like someone had set her on fire!

Andreas jumped up and grabbed a mirror. He then held the mirror up, so she could see what he was talking about. The moment she turned her head and saw the reflection of her back in the mirror, she gasped aloud." Oh, my God! The two lovers have found each other and the Phoenix… their invisible marks have appeared…"

Simultaneously, the events at the beach occurred with Christian also tearing off of his shirt, and it was then, when he and Ana both saw how the bird spread its wings wide, and then 'poof' it was gone.

Both Ana and Christian watched in disbelief, and with their eyes they both scanned the beach for the bird. However, it was gone!

"It hurts so much" Ana uttered, her eyes full of tears." What is it, Christian?!"

As his eyes landed on her back, Christian's eyes widened, unable to answer her question, too dumbfounded…

'The marks… the invisible marks… they've become visible. Just like my grandmother had told me…' were the words that bounced inside his skull.

Taylor had reached them in that moment, delayed because he had to tie the speed boat, and with wide eyes he asked. "Mr. Grey! What the hell is that thing covering your whole back?!"
