The cave

...

.

"I love you" Christian whispered in her ear, and then his eyes locked onto Ana's, boring into hers, making every inch of her body tingle, every nerve ending set ablaze by what he was doing to her right now.

And of course that brought her over the edge, making her come so sweetly, one hand gripping the sheets, and the other clawing at Christian's muscled back.

Ana came with a bang, seeing stars behind her eyelids, while with one last push from him, he also came roughly inside of her, his eyes turning into that familiar yellow color, his senses overly heightened.

"Love ya too" she whispered, and nestled into his warmth, a very satisfied smile playing at her pink lips.

"Tomorrow will be the day, my whirlwind" he uttered, and held her tightly, his eyes fluttering shut.

"Yes" Ana whispered, and planted a sweet kiss on his lips.

"Are you ready to liberate the 'Niarxos' family line, my love?"

Ana nodded in response." Never been more ready" she answered, and gripped his hand tightly." I was destined to be here in this moment in time, Christian"

She truly believed that...

And as slumber finally took over, their eyelids getting heavy by the second, he placed her hand over his heart.

"My love"

Meanwhile, Demetra was in the kitchen, placing every single ingredient on the huge table.

As she grabbed the biggest pot out the cupboard, she heard the kitchen door open.

"You still up?" she heard a familiar voice say.

In response, Demetra turned around, and saw Andreas standing in the doorway." I'm making sure everything is ready for tomorrow" she answered, her eyes locked onto his.

"I understand" he countered, and closed the gap between them.

"Thank you for getting my 'magic' book, Andreas" Demetra uttered, as he stood right in front of her.

"You're welcome" he told her, eyes still locked onto hers, making her tummy do delicious flip flops.

As they gazed into each other's eyes, Demetra felt this magical energy, connecting them as if they knew each other their whole lives.

"Do you feel it?" he asked, and carefully brought his hand towards her gorgeous face.

She nodded in response." I do"

The moment his fingers touched her cheek, Demetra's emerald eyes fluttered shut, and that's when a forcefield appeared around them.

"Open your eyes, Demetra" she heard him say, and when she did, she saw him smile from ear to ear.

"This is amazing!" She uttered, her eyes shining like stars.

Andreas smiled in response, and said." It is, but you are magnificent..."

As those words reached her ears, Demetra gave him a loving look." I know we just met, Andreas..." she started.

"I know... I feel it too" he gently cut her off, while cupping her face with one hand. "Miss Steele told me that your ancestor told her in that vision that we're bonded since the day you and I met..."

"You're my amplifier" She added, and touched his cheek softly, making his heart skip a beat.

"Can I kiss you?" Andreas asked, not being able to contain these strong feelings for this gorgeous beauty any longer, while giving her a pleading look.

In response, Demetra closed the small gap between them, grabbed his face with her small hands and pulled him towards her, crashing her red, plump lips onto his.

He was quite tall, 6" 2 , and Demetra was only 5" 2, but even with their height difference, it was the perfect kiss...

The kiss was pure and came from their hearts, two people connecting like millions had done before them, but only with this pair, a magical force surrounded them, lighting up the whole place with 'magic'.

The next day...

.

It was almost eight in the morning, when Ana and Christian walked hand in hand into the kitchen of the cottage.

Demetra was busy of course, brewing the potion, while Calinico helped her with it.

"You must add the flowers now." Andreas said, his eyes plastered on the 'magical' book.

It was then, when Christian pulled a chair so Ana could take a seat. "Everything under control?" he questioned, and sat on a stool.

As Demetra grabbed the bowl with chopped flowers, she nodded in response." Yes" she replied, and added the last and most important ingredient into the huge pot.

The moment she did, the liquid had changed into a red color.

"Wow" both Demetra and Calinico said in unison.

"What's happening?" Christian asked, his brows furrowed.

"The potion is almost ready" the young witch replied, and then they all heard a whooshing sound.

At that, Demetra looked at Ana, her heart beating like crazy." Are you ready for this?"

There was that question again.

However, Ana wasn't reluctant or afraid at all. With her head held up high, and feeling how Christian interlaced their fingers together, she let out a deep breath." Yes, I am." was her simple answer.

.

.

.

Approximately half an hour later, they placed the big pot with the potion in between two trees.

Demetra needed the energy of the woods and everything in it to magnify her magical powers. Ana and Christian watched in awe how the young witch stood at the center of four trees, her eyes closed, while focusing on her magic.

"She's so talented" they heard Calinico say, his mouth falling slightly open." I wish your grandmother could see this, Mr. Christian"

Taylor and the other bodyguards were present, all three of them on high alert, while Andreas stood a few feet away from Demetra, his face a perfect example of calmness.

"Chant with me?" he then heard Demetra say, so Andreas opened the magic book and as they both recited the incantation for three minutes long, the potion in the big pot changed again.

This time it changed from red to blue and lastly it became colorless... just like water.

"Now it's ready" they all heard Ana say, making Demetra nod in agreement.

"Yes" the young witch answered." We should go now... where it all began."

.

.

.

It was almost noon, when Christian and Ana walked on the beach, the others behind them.

The yacht was ready to take them to their destination, both feeling a bit anxious now.

"I wish Parthenios was here" she heard Christian say, hearing a slight tremble in his voice.

In response, she squeezed his hand tightly." I know he means a lot to you"

"He does... he's my cousin and I love him, Ana... no matter what he's done." Christian told her." I'll always forgive him; we're family, bound by blood."

In response, she swallowed the huge lump in her throat, and said." You both thought if this family curse were to be broken one day, he would be included too"

"Yes" Christian uttered, while tears pooled in his eyes.

"Well, I do believe right now he is sitting at the head of the table at 'the Phoenix' headquarters, praying for us to succeed, hoping that all goes well."

"I think so too" Christian said." He is sorry, you know... but he won't bend to the rules of his organization."

That made Ana sad, but she didn't have time to dwell on it too long, 'cause they've reached the speedboat that will bring them to the yacht.

.

.

.

Approximately one hour later, they arrived at their main destination.

As the small island came into view, they all were silent. Christian took Ana's hand in hers, his heart pounding wildly against his chest.

"I'm a bit scared" she confessed, while scanning their surroundings.

One by one, they got off of the boat and stood on the narrow shore, all of them still very quiet.

"Are you OK?" Andreas asked, his eyes locked onto Demetra's.

She nodded in response." Yes, I am... don't worry about me" she replied, and looked over at Christian.

"Yes?" he asked, while giving the young witch a worried look.

"Do you have the three items ready, Mr. Grey?" Demetra questioned, and gave him an encouraging look, as if she wanted to tell him not to worry.

He got the hint, and nodded." Yes... they're right here in my coat pocket" he replied, while giving her an appreciative look.

"So, what now?" Andreas asked, as Calinico waited patiently, while Taylor and his security team guarded everyone there.

"The four of us need to go into that cave" Demetra replied, while clutching her 'magic' book to her chest.

She was referring to the only cave on this small island, the one with a very narrow entrance.

"In there?" Ana asked, while making a face." It's dark in there"

"Why must we do it in there?" Christian questioned, while feeling how his hand was being squeezed by Ana.

Demetra sighed at that." We have to go back where it all began"

Ana bit her lip, and said. "But we ARE where it all began, right? The sea? Cause we're surrounded by sea water..."

The young witch shook her head in response." Not quite, Ana... for it to work, the four of us also have to be where Pandora cursed Agathe and Soterios' descendants, centuries ago."

"I get it" Christian said, and smiled at Ana." Let's go... let's do this"

"I'll go first, sir" Taylor said, and already strode towards the entrance, but Andreas stopped him by blocking it.

He shook his head, eyes piercing. "Not you, Taylor... only Demetra, Mr. Grey, Miss Steele and I must go inside the cave"

"What?!"

"He's right, Taylor" Christian told him." You must wait here, until we have broken the curse"

"But, sir..." Taylor said.

"Wait here... and that's an order." Christian demanded, his face stern.

It was only then, when the head of his security detail backed off.

"Good luck, Mr. Christian" Calinico said, while swallowing the huge lump that had formed in his throat.

"Don't you worry..." He said in a convincing manner." We'll be fine, Calinico... I'm my grandmother's grandson you know"

And those words were all that Christian's loyal friend and employee needed to hear...

.

.

.

As the four of them walked inside the dark cave, Ana and Christian held each other's hands, their eyes focused on the narrow path ahead.

Andreas was the one who walked first, using a bright flashlight to lead the way. Demetra walked behind him, still holding her magic book tightly.

It took them barely ten minutes to end up at a dead end.

"What? Where? What now?" they heard Andreas say, and then he turned around to face Demetra." Is this the right cave?"

"Yes, it is the right cave, Andreas." She insisted, her voice a pitch higher than usual." This is the only cave on this small island"

"But there's nowhere to go from here, Demetra" he pointed out, while giving her a questioning look.

"Wait, wait..." they all heard Ana say, all of a sudden.

"Yes?" Andreas said, and looked at her." You see anything, Miss Steele?"

And just like that, Ana was brought to 'another world'.

"Sappheire?" she uttered, and saw how Demetra's ancestor used a small key to open a concealed door.

"Aaahh... it's a secret entrance?" Ana whispered, and smiled at seeing that.

Then she thanked Sappheire...

"Ana? Ana?! she heard from afar, and then she was brought back to the now.

"You OK, sweetie?" Christian questioned and cupped her face lovingly, concern plastered on his handsome face.

In response, she nodded." Uhhh... yes, I'm OK" Ana replied, and kissed the tip of his nose." Can I have the small key, please?"

Demetra smiled, knowing that her ancestor had made contact with Ana through a vision.

"Here you go" Christian said and handed her the key.

"Thank you"

"Andreas, can you please shine the light here for me?" Ana asked with hopeful eyes.

The three of them watched attentively, as Ana used her hand to search for something.

"Aha!" she said triumphantly, and when they all heard a click, Ana pushed the wall with one hand, a wall that turned out to be a concealed door.

"We have to go down those creepy stairs?"

"I guess we have to, sweetie." Christian replied, and grabbed Ana's hand.

The four of them walked carefully down the stairs, barely seeing anything. It was that dark!

Through their bond, Andreas felt at that very moment that Demetra was feeling a bit anxious.

"I'm here for you" she heard Andreas say, feeling how he interlaced their fingers together, making her feel at ease.

"Thank you," she breathed, and yet was able to focus on her magic, walking carefully down the tunnel.

"How far do these steps go down there?"

"I have no idea, Ana" Christian replied, his heightened senses on overdrive, his eyes turning yellow.

He was the only one who didn't need the flashlight to see.

"Guys, I'm really scared right now." Ana uttered, but then Andreas shouted." Finally!"

It was then, when they all saw a small light from afar.

As the steps ended, the four of them stopped in their tracks.

And when Demetra's feet connected with the flat surface, all of a sudden there was LIGHT!

"Oh my God!" Christian said, his mouth falling slightly open, while his eyes scanned the chambers. "Demetra is right... it all began here"

As those words reached her ears, Ana felt a sudden pain in her stomach." Christian?" she uttered, and softly groaned in pain, while placing her hand on that particular spot.
