It was a Friday afternoon when school had gotten out for the day. Nagisa and Honoka were walking down the street when Honoka noticed her friend was looking down at the sidewalk in disappointment. "What's wrong Nagisa?" Honoka asked. Nagisa knew she should be telling her friend the truth. It would be very out of character of her to lie.

"I don't know…it's just that I've feeling down about my grades." Nagisa replied. "I mean, have you even seen that test? It was hard! It's gonna make up 85% of my grade too, so if I don't retake it, I'm gonna end up having to take third year math again." She said with a tired and sad expression on her face.

Honoka really detested seeing her friend so sad. She would do anything to cheer up the one girl she loved the most. She wanted to do something that would make her friend so happy it was unbelievable. This was when Mepple and Mipple decided to chime in.

"Well there IS going to a bunch of stars out at sunset." Mipple said, peeping out of Honoka's bag. "It should be delightful!"

Mepple was the next to peep out, with him coming out of Nagisa's backpack. "Yeah! Should be looking nice out by then. Maybe it will cure the crabbiness of the crabapple that is Nagisa." He replied sarcastically.

That small snarky comment made Nagisa really mad. "Now listen here! I'm not a crabapple! You try being a teenage girl with lots of stress put on her to do good!"

While all of this was going on between Nagisa and Mepple, Honoka gave out a really awkward smile.

"Okay grandma! I'm going out with Nagisa to see the stars!" Honoka called out.

"Good for you! Did you pack everything? Your telescope? Your camera? Your journal?" Her grandma asked considerably.

"Yes, yes I do." Honoka replied. "Thank you! Bye! I love you!" Honoka said before taking off to meet with Nagisa.

Meanwhile, Nagisa was arguing with her younger brother Ryouta about letting him go with her, which their mom Rie had to step in and tell Ryouta that he can't go, explaining that he had to finish his homework. Ryouta gave Nagisa a scoff and went off to his room. Nagisa hugged her mom and said goodbye to her and her father Takashi, then walked out the front door.

Nagisa walked for about 5-10 minutes and when she got to the park, Honoka was there waiting for her with her backpack. Nagisa went up to Honoka and they greeted each other. They both opened up their backpacks and let Mepple and Mipple out into the open.

"MIPPLE!"

"MEPPLE!"

The couple opened up their arms and gave each other a massive hug, with some nuzzling in between.

"Oh Mepple, aren't you excited to have a romantic evening together?" Mipple asked her boyfriend.

"Indeed I am mipo! And I'm wondering if Nagisa and Honoka feel the same…"

Honoka gave a smile of support, while Nagisa stared at Mepple with a little bit of confusion.

"Y'know….about them having a romantic evening too?"

The girls now knew exactly where Mepple was going with this. Both girls blushed. Honoka stayed purely silent while Nagisa angrily responded back. "That's an absolutely ridiculous claim! Me and Honoka are just friends!"

"What, you mean giving your "friend" a Valentines Day card that reads you "want to stay with her for the rest of your life" is just "friendly"?" Mepple taunted back.

"SAYING THINGS LIKE THAT DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ROMANTIC, DINGUS!" Nagisa angrily responded.

Honoka stopped Nagisa before she could go any further. "Let's just wait for the stars to come out. That's what we're here for, right?"

Nagisa supposed Honoka was right. They all waited 5 minutes, which turned into 10, which turned into 15, which turned into 30. By that point Nagisa was starting to become reluctant that the stars would never come out. "Honoka I think the news lied to us… I don't think they're coming out today. I think we should just go home."

"Now?" Honoka asked with disappointment in her voice. "Maybe we just came too early."

"I don't think so. I think the news just lied to us once again, once more. I'm sorry-"

Suddenly the sky lit up. The sky was a bit darker now. Small comets had finally appeared in the sky. The stars shined so nostalgically, they looked like stars so special it could be stuck in a person's mind and be remembered for the rest of their life.

Nagisa and Honoka looked up at the stars in pure amazement. They looked like absolutely nothing like anything the girls had ever seen before.

Then suddenly it occurred. Nagisa and Honoka looked at each other and started to experience those feelings again. Those bubbling feelings of romantic intent were coming back to their minds again. They knew they had to take it slow.

Nagisa looked at Honoka, blushing about. She leaned toward Honoka and put her forehead upon hers. Honoka was a bit confused at first but then she realized what her girlfriend was trying to do. She closed her eyes and had a whole moment with Nagisa, foreheads touching and hands being held. The stars shined above them, twinkling with a fittingly romantic bright light for the girls.

"See? I told you they were in love." Mepple said to Mipple. This time, Nagisa didn't even think to fight back, because she knew Mepple was telling the truth all along.
