A/N: Shit's about to get messy.
It is the shine of a bright light that awakes her. She gasps as if it's the first time oxygen enters her lungs and her chest feels constricted no more.
Her dazed eyes squint as the colour of fiery tuscany falls on the floor from the tip of her toes up to the wide diagonal window adjacent to the bed.
Numbness tickles her outstretched limbs and that's when she notices the coolness of the metals that are binding her hands. Panic surges through her and she struggles against them.
"Isabella, don't. Those chains help with your healing," a deep voice startled her, which also gave her heart a jump start.
The older woman gently lifts her hand and shows the dark blue light gleaming from the metals around her wrist. Instead of it being a handcuff as she initially suspected, the metal looks more like fancy and hight-tech bracelets. "They repair your wounds on the inside," she explained noticing Bella's curious eyes.
Once that's out of the way, Bella regains her strengths and slowly sits up. Her instincts alarming her in a foreign way but a small part of her urges her to control her heartbeat and not giveaway to panic. It's as if she's been trained at it.
All her brain wants to do is figure out her whereabout, the identity of this stranger and the reason she's in an unfamiliar room. It's strange. It all looks eerily familiar but unfamiliar at the same time. Has she been here before?
"I feel like I might know who you are but I can't put a name on you. And I think I know this place but no words come to mind," Bella said carefully, her voice calm. Deep down, she's sure someone would be proud of her control. Although at this very second, she doesn't know who her mind is thinking about.
The older woman still has Bella's wrist in her hold, a strange cool sensation emanating from her somehow hard skin. She takes a deep sigh, pecks her cool lips on Bella's wrist and leans in closer. Bella's instinct is screaming danger as she gazes into those cherry eyes but she reigns in her fear. Something in her mind tells her that what the other woman's about to say would feel like a deja-vu, wondering if she has a talent of premonition or simply reliving a memory, or worse, a nightmare.
The woman parts her ruby lips but then snaps them shut once again before her eyelids shut tight, blocking Bella from reading into those dangerous cherry eyes. Oddly enough, she feels a calling, an urge, and her body complies. She retracts her hand from the stranger's hold but only to cup her cheek instead. Instantly, those cherry eyes open and look at Bella in hesitation but also in wonder. Cool hand is pressed against Bella's warm one and a sexy smirk dances on those ruby lips.
"With time, I shall provide you with all the answers you seek for but now, I'm afraid I've been here for far more than what I've been allowed to."
The cogs in Bella's brain feel like they're rusting at her puzzling words. She's about to ask her questions when the door opens revealing a shorter and blonde girl.
"Heidi, you've been summoned to the hall."
Just by the sound of her monotone voice, Bella feels chilly. Something about the second stranger makes her heart sink deep down her gut. She looks like another teenager but hazardous and not one to be underestimated.
"Till next time, love," Heidi kissed Bella's palm and told her to get some rest. Weirdly, Bella's eyes immediately feel heavy and she finds herself being tucked into bed by this person who's apparently is called Heidi.
"I'm coming Jane. No need to twist your panties."
Those were the last words Bella heard before she rides to dreamland, another set of red eyes staring down at her from the door, looking unsettled.
Question: Can you guess where I'm going with this? :p
