A/N: So, few people hoped Heidi would be Bella's mate. What do you think? I think Bella's heart wouldn't be able to take it coz honestly, even with two mates I'M overwhelmed! Hahaha. But, I don't want to ruin any surprises. Let's just go along with the ride eh?

Any normal person would laugh at the cherry-eyed woman. But somehow, like this gorgeous woman had told her, it's not the first time she's learning this. That this concept that vampires exist actually makes sense to Bella. It feels like deja-vu. Only this time, something rattles deep down inside of her. Like she could half-believe her and half-not believe her.

"And you're telling me that you're my mate and we have been dating for a few months and that you will be turning me soon?" Bella inquired, trying to recap what Heidi had just told her.

Bella had awoken a few hours earlier to Heidi's greetings with a tray of delicious food in her hands. After she finished her meal, which wasn't much due to her stomach felt a bit upset at all the mystery and nerves, Heidi had begun to break the news to her.

The vampire thing? She could definitely believe it and surely she remembers learning of this bizarre truth. But what bothers her is this mating bond between them, as Heidi had sultry claimed. Thing is, Bella remembers feeling loved and protected. She could even recall the feeling of experiencing some out-of-the-world sexual experience but those memories seem fuzzy no matter how much she tried to focus and try to remember the details.

Heidi had tried to prove it with a very sensual kiss. It lit up something inside of Bella hearing Heidi's growl, like faintly remembering the sound of a bell, only, it sounded broken and just wrong. And when Heidi tried to kick it up a notch with her wandering hands, a voice warned her.

Trust your instincts.

It snapped Bella out of the reverie, willing herself to find the strength to gently stop the makeout session. Those ruby lips tasted wonderful on Bella's but they also felt like it was forbidden. And so she stopped them. Her heart jumped a little at the cherry eyes turned pitch black and she cowered back to the headboard.

The older woman, vampire, looks livid but she quickly washes that look away and replaces it with what Bella thinks is a look of sadness.

"Isabella, I will not lie and say that did not hurt me because it did. However, the human doctor did tell me you're suffering amnesia due to the battle a few days ago. The other vampires, they tried to hurt you."

This triggers some flashes. Bella is sucked into a world where she sees fire, ripped body limbs, splashes of blood, everything that screams destruction. She closes her ears as her mind suddenly flashes to piercing screams that are so loud they almost bleed her ears. Her body starst to tremble uncontrollably that her knees give out and she drops to the floor but Heidi's fast reflexes catch her. Her body shudders harder as she feels the vampire's arms circling her body, as if they're poison and she bawls in panic.

It's not as if she's unfamiliar with a vampire's touch. There's just something about Heidi's that doesn't sit right. The vampire firmly pulls Bella against her chest and rocks their body together, trying to calm down the human whilst whispering all the soothing words she could think of. And surprisingly Bella's body obliges and she leans her warm forehead against the vampire's marble neck. Heidi smiles triumphantly while Bella attempts to get her panic in check.

"It's alright. I'm here. You're safe, Isabella."

Another memory flashes by Bella but like all the rest, they're fuzzy. However, there's no mistaking the words had been uttered to her before and it had worked. And yet, Bella feels the complete opposite right now. Something feels off and she's determined to figure it out, and preferably fast before they arrive at her "turning day".

"She's still resisting," Heidi wiped the sweet blood away off her chin and discarded the lifeless human.

Alec's smirk broadened as he could almost taste victory. "Perhaps you're not as charming as you claim to be."

When the plan was set in motion, Heidi had volunteered to be the one to seduce Bella. She was confident in her gift and also the fact that Bella was still a human virgin made her more appealing.

Afton and Chelsea's gifts had been vital from the start and now it was up to Heidi to deliver. Alec's insinuation made her blood boil and she sauntered to him like a lioness, his smirk instantly disappearing behind those marble skin. His breath hitched as she leans in closer, his eyes are now pitch black in lust. "Do not seduce my brother," Jane hissed.

Heidi breaks off her charm on the twin brother to glare at her.

"Now, now, play nice," came a sweet voice from the door. The vampire with light brown hair steps into the room and instantly uses her gift on the other three. Ever since they embarked on this special mission, the three guards have been temperamental, no doubt due to the human's peculiar gift of a mental shield.

Jane no doubt feels threatened by the human ever since she tried and failed miserably to inflict pain on the human shield. This feeling is mutually shared by Alec due to their biological bond. Heidi has suffered no less due to Bella's strong bonds and her powerful shield blocking the vampire's natural charms.

"It has proven difficult to manipulate the girl, Chelsea," Heidi groaned.

She had assumed at least she'd get some sexual benefits out of this task. It had been long since she had a taste of virgins, let alone a powerful human virgin. Initially she couldn't wait to rub it in the two pathetic blonde vampires that she would have the first claim on their mates instead. But her usual seductress moves were mostly not well responded.

"You underestimated the girl, which is a flaw in your strategy. It had taken weeks for her mates to earn her trust. Your mistake is to assume that their bonds are purely based on sexual nature, when it is far from the truth."

Afton turns off his gift and appears in the middle of the room, "I agree. In order for this to work, you have to assimilate what their mates have done for her. And we do not have much time before the Cullens and Denalis figure our whereabouts. The Volturi expects results soon."

A/N: Don't worry. The explanation will come soon enough. I'm leaving it in bits and pieces so the story continues to get updates. ;)
