Dani let out a groan as the light from the morning sun shone on her face as she laid on the grass near a tree. She tried to keep her eyes shut to get a bit more sleep, but the constant rays assaulting her made something like that extremely difficult, if not impossible.

Acknowledging the futility of it, the young ravenette begrudgingly opened her eyes and glared up at the sun, as if it was the source of all her problems.

Yawning, Dani pushed herself off the ground and then put her backpack, the same one she used as a makeshift pillow, on. She didn't really get as much sleep as she wanted last night. She originally wanted to sleep in a random apartment building that seemed to be abandoned. She was about to doze off when some crazed fruitloop tried sneaking up on her and attempted to smash her head open with an iron crowbar.

After she manages to get away, she practically speeds off as fast as she could. She would be lying if she said the event didn't rattle her. Don't get her wrong, it wouldn't be the first time someone tried to mug her for whatever reason, and whenever that happens she was far more than capable of defending herself.

However, this particular nutjob was the same one that kept on attacking her numerous times. Across multiple different states. For the past few months. And last night was the first time he attacked while she was in her human form. So yeah, she wanted to put as much distance between her and that fruitloop as much as possible. She was certain that she flew a whole state before she finally set down to sleep.

she might even have to stay low for a while and pray that he forgets about her altogether.

She shook her head and stretched her arms out before she began walking away from the tree where she had been sleeping under. Not the best place to catch some shut-eye, but she was too tired, especially with how much she flew last night, to really care. Besides, she knew how to survive in the wilderness, so it wasn't that much of an issue for her. It also didn't hurt that there was a city nearby either.

As she was enjoying the scenery, Dani noticed something blue out of the corner of her eye. Looking in that direction, the young halfa saw what looked like a person lying on the ground quite a bit of distance from her. Out of curiosity, as well as concern, Dani began making her way toward the limp body.

Once she got close enough, Dani was able to make out the details of the person in question. For one thing, the person in question was a young petite girl who looked to be about Dani's apparent age. She had fair skin and, strangely enough, long dark blue hair that reached down to her waist, with two bangs framing her face which reaches down to her chest. She wore a green dress that had a crossing pattern on it and exposed her back, as well as had thick gold-colored bands around each of her arms and wore ankle-tied sandals. Dani also notices a strange blue tattoo on the other girl's right arm.

However, what concerns Dani the most was how the girl was wrapped in bandages, as well as covered in scratches across her body. These along with the pained expression on the unconscious girl's face were more than enough to indicate to Dani that the other girl was hurt badly.

Not knowing what to do, Dani knelt down and put her hand on the blue-haired girl's shoulder, and shook her gently.

"He-Hey are you alright?" Dani asked urgently, hoping that the other girl would wake up, "Come on wake up."

The other girl scrunched her closed eyes for a moment before opening them slowly, revealing brown eyes, much to Dani's relief.

The blue-haired girl blinked a few times as her eyes adjusted to the morning sun's light, before looking at Dani.

She then suddenly bolted upright, startling Dani a bit at the sudden movement.

"W-who are you?" The blue-haired girl asked nervously as she looked at Dani with wide eyes from her kneeling position. She then began looking around, almost frantically, "Whe-where's Charle and the others?!

"Whose Cha-?" Dani tried to ask, however, the other girl quickly got to her feet and wobbled a bit. Dani also got back onto her feet as well and had her arms stretched out to catch the other girl in case she fell over. However, before that could happen, the bluenette managed to regain her footing.

"Charle!," she cried out, desperation evident in her voice, with her back toward Dani, "Charle, where are you! Natsu! Happy! Lucy! Gray! Erza! Anyone!"

The girl kept on crying out, in hopes that someone would answer, but her only response was silence and the ambient noise within the woods. The girl's arms hung limply at her sides, and Dani could hear her sniffle.

The ravenette slowly walked up to the other girl and gently put her hand on the bluenette's shoulder. The girl slowly turned her head to look at Dani, and the halfa could see tears threatening to fall from the other girl's eyes. And the pained look in her eyes made Dani want to look away, but she forced herself to keep eye contact.

"H-hey, um, hi uh," Dani greeted nervously and uncertainly, not sure what to properly say. She then coughed into a fist before trying again, "Hey look, um, I can help try to find your friends."

"Really?"

"Y-yeah, I'm sure they're somewhere in these woods," Dani offered with a reassuring smile, "I bet if we looked around we could find them.

"T-thank you," the bluenette said with a smile, though Dani can tell it was forced.

"By the way, the name's Dani. That's with an I by the way," the halfa introduced herself with a wink, causing the other girl to let out a brief quiet giggle.

"My name is Wendy Marvell," she said with a smile, "It's nice to meet you Dani."

Wendy would never be able to forget what happened. She alongside her guildmates had just defeated the dark guild - Black Grimoire - as well as their master, Hades. It was a difficult battle, but in the end, they managed to succeed.

Then it came. The Apocalypse Incarnate.

Acnologia.

It just came out of nowhere and began attacking. They weren't even completely recovered from their battle with Black Grimoire and now they had to contend with a far more dangerous threat.

Even with the strongest members within the guild, even with the might of four dragon slayers, nothing they threw at the black winged dragon even left so much as a scratch on it.

Then it flew up high into the air and began to gather immense magical energy within its maw. A dragon's breath attack, one she and the rest of her guildmates knew would completely erase them from existence.

However, even as dread settled over them, they began holding hands with one and another. a circle of united love for each other replaced the dread that was festering within them. It ended with Wendy, with her grabbing onto Charle's, her best friend, paw before reaching for another's.

Then she looked up and faltered.

What she saw was no longer a swirling ball of light but a curling pair of wings within an inferno. The center of it she could make out as a ghastly wave of death, all screaming out to her inevitable demise. Grimly staring down at her the young Slayer shook in place. She could faintly hear Charle calling out to her but she didn't know what she said.

And then it happened.

Acnologia released its breath attack down into the center of the island, and Wendy could feel herself being sent flying like a tossed rag doll due to the shockwave, losing her grip on Charle's paw in the process, before she lost consciousness.

Wendy wasn't expecting to ever wake up again after that, but she did.

The first thing she saw was a pair of clear blue eyes looking down towards her in concern. The eyes belonged to a young girl who looked to be about the same age as her, had fair skin, and long raven black hair tied into a ponytail, a bang almost covering one of her eyes. She wore a light blue hoodie, plain red shorts, a pair of blue sneakers, and had a beanie on the top of her head.

Wendy was surprised to see the other girl, as she didn't remember seeing her on Tenrou island at all. Considering what she went through in the last couple of hours, Wendy couldn't help but initially feel both nervous and scared. She didn't know whether or not the girl was an enemy, but the concerned look in her eyes told her that wasn't the case.

It then occurred to Wendy that she wasn't on Tenrou island anymore, a quick look at her surroundings as well as the scent of the area confirmed that. However, what was concerning to Wendy was that she couldn't see Charle, nor any of her other friends at all.

She immediately got to her feet and called out their names, but all she got in return was silence. That, combined with the fact that she couldn't pick up their scent, made her fear the worst. She could feel the tears threatening to escape.

That was when the other girl placed a hand on her shoulder and offered to help look for her friends. The sincere look in her eyes told Wendy she was being honest, and her kind smile helped calmed Wendy down. And Wendy also gave a smile as well.

After their initial greeting, the pair went off through the woods in search of Wendy's friends. However, a part of the young dragon slayer's mind held doubts if they could find her friends. Acnologia's attack was devastating, she didn't think anything could survive that.

Even then she still wanted - needed - to hold onto the hope that the others survived. That her friends, the people she considered to be her family, were alright. That she wasn't alone again.

And besides, if Wendy managed to survive Acnologia's breath attack, then it's likely the others did as well.

And so she kept on calling out for her guildmates as she and the girl - Dani - searched through the woods, praying that at least one of them answered. But as before, all the pair got for their troubles was silence, and the young dragon slayer was still unable to pick up any of her guildmates' scents.

And then Wendy noticed something as she walked near a cliff. Off in the distance, was a city. Thanks to her dragon physiology she was able to make out the structures, and the buildings that made up the city looked completely different than what she was used to. She didn't see anything that she recognized. In fact, even the way the air tasted was completely new, even left a slight aftertaste in the back of her mouth that she didn't particularly like.

She couldn't help but look at the other girl with a curious expression.

"Hey Dani, where are we," Wendy asked with a tilt of her head. The ravenette brought a hand to her chin and took a moment to think up an answer.

"I think we're somewhere in Idaho," she finally said before shrugging her shoulders, "I'm kind of guessing here though. I kind of lost track of where I was at as of...recently."

"Idaho," Wendy couldn't help but frown in confusion at that, "Where is that in Fiore?"

It was Dani's turn to frown in confusion, "Fiore? Never heard of any place like that, especially in the U.S."

"U.S?" Wendy asked in even more confusion at the strange name. was it some kind of abbreviation?

"Yeah, the United States of America," Dani said again with a raised eyebrow as she looked at Wendy.

Wendy couldn't help but blink at what was, in her mind, a strange name for a country.

"I-I never heard of a place like that," Wendy admitted, she didn't know why but she suddenly got a sinking feeling in her stomach. About what, she didn't know.

It didn't help that Dani looked at her like she grew a second head.

"Seriously?" the ravenette asked in an incredulous tone, her eyebrow still raised, "It's one of the most well-known nations on Earth. I'm pretty sure everyone knows about it."

The sinking feeling Wendy felt grew in intensity at those words.

"E-earth? Don't you mean Earth land?" Wendy asked, her voice laced with unease, hoping that the other girl simply had a slip of the tongue.

For the Nth time, a confused frown appeared on Dani's face.

"Nooo, just Earth, not Earth land," she confirmed. Then the other girl's expression shifted to concern as tears began to spill from the bluenette's eyes, "H-hey, what's wrong?"

Wendy's legs felt like they went numb and she dropped to her knees.

"Wendy!" Dani exclaimed as she quickly knelt down beside the young dragon slayer and placed her hands on Wendy's shoulder, "Wendy, what's wrong!?"

Wendy didn't know how it could have happened, or why for that matter, but she wasn't on Earthland anymore. And by what she could tell, she wasn't even on Edolas either. And she didn't know if it was possible she could get home.

Even by some miracle, all of her friends had managed to survive Acnologia's final attack, she wouldn't be able to see them ever again. She was worlds away from them. Worlds away from everything and everyone she ever knew.

She doubted she would even be able to see Charle ever again. Charle, who Wendy knew ever since the exceed hatched from her egg. Charle, who been by Wendy's side for as long as the young dragon slayer could remember. Charle, who was Wendy's closest friend, and whose bond she shared with the young feline strengthen during the recent events of Edolas. Charle…who was now gone from Wendy's life.

The tears spilled forth as she brought her hands up to her face. She continued to cry for what felt like forever.

"We-Wendy!" The young dragon slayer heard someone cry out her name, and then she was reminded of Dani. She looked up and saw the concerned look on her face.

"Wendy," Dani spoke softly, and once again asked, "What's wrong?"

The bluenette let out a sniffle, as she blinked tears out of her eyes.

"I'm, 'hic', I'm all alone again," she said quietly, her expression being one of devastation, and she then laid her head on the other girl's shoulder, much to the latter's surprise, and continued to cry.

Dani was completely taken aback at the turn of events. She was lost as to what to do. All she could do at the moment was just stare down at the distraught girl that was now crying on her shoulders.

After a moment, Dani slowly and hesitantly, as if she was worried that her action would hurt the other girl more, wrapped her arms around the bluenette.

The other girl hardly reacted to the halfa's touch and continued to cry. Dani could feel her jacket getting soaked due to the other girl's tears.

The young ravenette lets out a quiet sigh as she rubs Wendy's back in a calming manner.

She couldn't help but wonder what she was going to do now.

AN: Welp, another old plot bunny, another story. Wendy and Dani are both of my favorite characters from their respective series, and I always wanted to do something regarding both of them together.

For the time table in regards to these two, it's set after D-Stabilized on Dani's end so no need to worry about Dani melting into a puddle. In case you haven't realized, for Wendy, it's right at the moment that the seven-year time skip would begin, but instead of being trapped and frozen within Fairy Sphere she got sent to Earth, so her being isekai'd (or would it be reversed isekai'd in Wendy's case) won't affect her original world for seven years, give or take. It would mostly depend on when or if Wendy does make it back to Earthland.

Also how was Wendy's reaction to her predicament, was it realistic or did it feel forced? I'm pretty much on the fence about that.

Anywho, we're on to a pretty depressing start all things considered, but worry not, I will post another chapter in the future. So follow if you want to see more.

Leave a review, as those encourage me to write more.
