Something was wrong.
Jumin asked her to cancel all of his and her appointments. It wasn't easy but it was an order.
It took her an hour and a half to call off everything. It was the first time for Mr. Han to just cancel more than two appointments on the same day.
She was glad that no one else was openly offended by this.
She went back to his office to see him still seating at his couch, eyes close.
"There weren't immediate problems, I presumed." He opened his eyes and looked at her without moving.
She sighed and smiled a little. "Yes, everything is still in order. I'm glad you haven't have a lot of appointments on next weekend so I put most of them there." She waited at the side.
She was confused at his sudden request.
She knew she didn't need to put any meaning to his question earlier.
The man was gorgeous, yes. But he wasn't her type and she knew she wasn't his type either.
"Where would you like to go?" She asked.
She was thinking that he might want to see his cat and was preparing for the torture. On her part.
"Where do you?" Jumin asked closing his eyes again.
She tilted her head.
She was not the one who wanted to go out.
He looked so tired.
"Do you want to go to the cafeteria?" It was a weird thing to ask of.
But she was getting hungry.
"I rather not go somewhere inside this building" he answered tiredly.
Of course, she smiled silly.
"I know."
They were in a cafe a little ways from the office.
She had always wanted to go there but never had the time.
She figured that since the guy wanted to get out and not suggesting anything, it was the perfect opportunity.
"This place is nice" Jumin said drinking his chocolate latte.
He didn't want to look at the menu and asked Jaehee to order for him.
Today was just confusing.
"Did you want to talk about something?" she probed. Sure it was nice to do this once in a while but she wanted to get to the point.
If this goes on, she was afraid that the guy will not talk about anything non work related.
"I'm surprised you didn't think I was asking you out on a date."
She giggled.
She would've think of that if she didn't know Jumin.
He smiled, "Thank you, I just thought I gave you the wrong impression. Though, I wouldn't be opposed of it."
Jaehee sputtered her drink. "I apologized"
She wasn't thinking that maybe she didn't know Jumin that much.
He laughed softly.
"Don't worry, Jaehee. I'm not my father." when he said that, his demeanor changed.
"I don't mean to make you uncomfortable." he sighed and uncharacteristically scratched his head.
"I'm just saying that you're the perfect fit for me. I don't like you romantically but I do like you." he clarified in his business tone.
She smiled and nodded. Contrary to popular belief, she didn't hate Jumin.
She was fond of him. But as he said, it wasn't in a romantic way. She respected him at work and even though she questions his emotions, she knew he was a good man.
"So will you stop scheduling your own schedule and let your assistant take care of that for you?"
He smiled. "Yes.."
They had a comfortable silence when Jumin resumed his serious demeanor.
"I wanted to ask your help."
Jaehee raised her eyebrow. "Sure, what is it?"
"This is not you taking orders for me. I'll be organizing everything but I want you to deal with the aftermath"
She nodded. Even though it seems like not her usual work, it still seems like what she does best.
"What are you going to do?" he looked at her in the eyes and nodded.
"I.. Have been keeping this for years now. But.." he looked conflicted.
"I need your help"
She knew now why he has been doing a lot for these past few months.
She was shocked by what he said and he gave her an important job.
Keep everyone in tact.
That was what Jumin said.
His plan would be on the next party. With the RFA party being held on the same day but in a different venue and will be commandeered by the C$R employees.
Jumin said that MC knew about this but not about why and what would take place.
Of course, Jumin didn't elaborate about the plan but he gave her the gist of it.
She knew he was doing something but she didn't know it was this grand and would be life changing.
Not just for him or her, but for everyone.
"Mr. Han, your scheduled 11:30 is here in the lobby."
He looked at her and stood up.
He had expected her to disagree and be disappointed in him but she wasn't.
It wasn't long ago that the last party was held. Just a mere six months but he had done what he can and she was pleased with all he had plan.
"Jumin, I don't know if everyone will agree but I will do my best to deal with the aftermath. I am your friend and this will not affect us"
That's what she said after he told her everything.
Even she was nervous on how everyone will react and she understood why Jumin was trying to distract himself using work.
"I don't mean to be negative but I'm sure you knew the risks. But I will be with you"
She squeezed his hands against her, offering him comfort.
"I.." he stopped sadly.
"It's okay. They're good people." she reassures him but she wasn't going to lie and say that everything will be alright.
It was for the best.
She knew that.
But the methods he used, she don't know if everyone will like it.
The day of the party came and all of the RFA members are there.
Even Saeran, their new recruit and V and Rika.
Jumin insisted everyone was there and it wasn't that much difficult to set unlike the other things in place here.
Everyone was getting worried 30 minutes later when none of the guests were coming in.
"MC, you gave the right address, right?" Yoosung asked keeping his distance to V but keeping close to Rika.
MC gave her a nervous smile and nodded.
Jumin coughed effectively gaining their attention.
"Everyone, the RFA guests are not coming here. I gave MC a different address." Everyone was so confused.
Seven was the first one to react, "Why, are you going to confess about something~~" he skipped steps to Jumin jokingly.
Jumin smiled sadly. "As a matter of fact, yes. I have a confession to make" Seven whistle and gave Zen a sly slide glance.
Zen was just confused and a little bit angry at how the trust fund kid sabotaged the party.
"V, did you know about this?" Zen didn't mean to ask harshly but that's how it came out of his mouth.
Zen was getting bitter that Jumin was only talking things with V and kept everyone out.
It wasn't fair that they got to know everything.
But V turned to him and shook his head.
"I'm afraid not. I gave Jumin the reins of the RFA activities so he didn't need to get my approval. But I didn't know he would do this kind of thing" V looked at his childhood friend in question.
