Jaehee was on a vacation for a week after the party.
It was always like this.
But after her last conversation with MC, she realized that Jumin really was the loneliest person in their group.
Maybe something about what happened last party made him think that using this party as the ground zero of his surprises was acceptable.
Did he think that if the group managed to strive like last time, they will surely do it this time, too?
She didn't want to go to work but she wanted to see Jumin and apologized.
She knew it wasn't 100 percent wrong that she was mad at him but the fact that he was alone made her think that she already forgiven him. She was planning on forgiving him anyways.
Now, she just want to know if everything's okay.
She prepared to work and went to their office only to find out that Jumin wasn't in.
"Hello, I'm Jay. Mr. Han would be relaying his orders to me while he's away" a man in a suit said.
"I believed you are on vacation, Assistant Kang. Mr. Han has extended it to three weeks with pay."
Jaehee tilted her head to the side.
"Mr. Han didn't inform me of this change" she stated saying that she would like to talk to him in person.
"Well, Mr. Han is not around, not here in the country. You won't be seeing him until at least one month"
This surprised the assistant.
This kind of change should be known to her weeks in advance.
She was fumbling through her phone when the man approached her.
"Mr. Han wanted to talk to you. Here, use this" he gave her an earpiece.
"Jumin, what is happening?" she asked a little far from the man.
"Assistant Kang, Jay would be in charge until I got back. Everything is taken cared of. No need to check in with the company while I'm gone." Jumin said in a cold tone.
Jaehee frowned. "I was planning to talk to you face to face. I wanted to apologize."
There was a pause on the line and she thought that maybe Jumin hanged up on her.
"There wasn't a need to. I deliberately didn't tell you all the details"
"Where are you? As your assistant and friend, I wanted to know if you're okay." She knew it was futile if she wouldn't at least try to tell the guy that she's her friend.
"I'm securing a business deal with a client and it would take a few days." He still didn't tell her where exactly.
"Can you please keep your promise to keep everyone intact?" he paused waiting for her answer.
"I believed I can't do anything with V and Rika but I'll try with everyone else here." Jaehee sighed.
This wouldn't do.
"Try to rest for 3 weeks, Jaehee. Everyone's mad at me and I believe they need at least that much time" she frowned again.
3 weeks with no work and that everyone else are not talking.
"Sir, I would like to know where my boss is at the moment"
Jumin sighed exhausted.
"Your boss right now is Jay, Assistant Kang. Get rest"
She was getting pissed.
"You broke everyone and you think you can just walk away?" she seethed.
"Assistant Kang, go home" and he hanged up
Jaehee Kang: Is anyone here?
Jaehee Kang: ...
Jaehee Kang: I guess not.
Jaehee Kang: I hope everyone's doing well.
Jaehee Kang: Mr. Han is not in the country and he won't be for at least a month.
Jaehee Kang: I apologize if I didn't try to stop him.
Jaehee Kang: I hope everything will be okay.
It wasn't the worst case scenario but it wasn't an ideal.
He knew that forcing V and Rika out wasn't a great idea but the more he observed, the more he realized that the two were doing the same things that they did before.
They were spiraling and though he wasn't an expert. He knew them well enough to know something must be done.
He just know that the two won't ever agree to this especially V but then he got no choice.
They were dangerous to themselves and to others.
He was sure that Seven knows that, too. But he knew Seven wouldn't act.
Seven was walking on egg shells. Until now, Jumin understood that he might be the least trusted guy in the group sans V and Rika.
He understood that Seven felt helpless in front of him. Not that he was.
Jumin knew the effect he has on others.
He is rich and is logical but everybody knows that he values V more than anyone else.
And he still do. But not that much anymore.
V didn't ask for his help. Whatever the reason was, it wasn't logical.
The fact that V doesn't realized the gravity of what he did is strange because he's supposed to be the emotional one.
But he was talking with V and with everyone and noticed that something wasn't right.
None of the two asked for forgiveness.
He wasn't the one who's supposed to acknowledge this but in their hectic 2 weeks made him realized that a few acts and words are a lot on certain times.
He knew that if he was doing this. He should look at everything he can fix.
And everything should be done at the same time.
Because he couldn't think of a way to deal with everyone at their own phase.
He wanted to get it over with. If everyone was just going to turn on him at the end, he will make it that everyone will not waste their time walking on eggshells like Seven did.
