The chairman is really the father of Jumin.

They have the same mannerisms and the way they go around and issue a command.

It was like looking at the older version of her friend. Jaehee sighed.

She was assigned to be the chairman's assistant for the month until a new director was elected. The chairman wanted her insight since she is the only assistant to be able to hold the position for years. Most of them either gotten fired or quit on their own.

She was grateful for the recognition but she doesn't really want to look for a replacement of her boss.

Jumin is still missing. She kept trying to ask the chairman since he most probably knew where their friend is but he kept changing the topic.

One of the things Jumin must have inherited from the guy is his absolute capability of not giving information in any situation.

She was already thinking of ways to steal the man's phone when she notice a guy approaching them.

"Ah, Jay. Long time no see. How is your family?" the chairman greeted.

Jay bowed and smiled. "They are great. My mother wanted to invite you to her party next month"

The chairman laughed and nodded. "I'll look at it. Assistant Kang, please take note."

Jaehee immediately took note about asking the man the exact date. Jay glanced at her and gave the chairman a look.

The chairman nodded. "Assistant Kang, I need our list of policies regarding tenure and employment outsourcing. Give me everything we have"

The chairman gestured for her.

Jaehee bowed and left the room. She got her phone out and immediately called Saeyoung.

"Seven, try looking at the chairman's room. I was just kicked out on something that felt very important. Jay and the chairman is currently talking"

She heard a noise and heard a few murmurs at the other end.

"Okidoks, Jaehee. We'll inform you if they said anything" Seven said hanging up.

She hoped they found something.

It wasn't him who brainwashed anyone.

It wasn't him who poisoned anyone.

He wasn't going to do those kind of things.

So why was he being punished?

It was Rika who did all of that. They should be grateful.

V kept thinking while staring at nothing.

What's wrong with just bearing with it? He did not know those people.

Sure he knew Saeran but he was a favorite. V knew that Saeran was specially treated. His Rika was just doing what she thinks is the best.

For everyone and for her.

Whatever she did is on her own and she was bright while doing it.

Of course, he thought it wasn't good and would like to only be the one receiving the blow from his fiancé but it was done now.

She was bright.

Right?

Jumin and the late prime ministerwas having lunch in an underground restaurant.

If Jumin has any say in this, he would've just continued his tasks but he guess this formality is required.

"You really impress me, Jumin Han. No one was able to do what you did and you did it in a month" the minister said after having a bite of his meal.

Jumin hummed. "There's no need for flattery. We both know the deal is not done yet."

Jumin was done with his meal and waited a bit for the old man.

"I like you. It's a shame that you want to go back. I would like to offer another deal. We can be partners in this company." he paused, clearing his throat.

Jumin stared at him opening his mouth to reply but the man stopped him by raising his hand.

"I'll give you a blank check and you'll be assigned as the chairman of the company. What do you say to that? Of course, accommodations on migrating to this country will be handled too" the old man offered.

"I would say it is a good deal but I am not seeing any improvements as to my current situation" Jumin mused.

He was already CEO in line. This company is a little bit better than his company but he was sure C$R is the best on Korea.

They haven't branch out that much yet so they were a little behind in regards to this company.

"But I heard your father is looking at another heir and I believe he gave you an ultimatum by next month. You are incredible, yes. But I'm not so sure if you are capable of finishing your job in time" the old man reasoned.

Of course he was listening to their conversations.

Jumin already suspected this. He expected as much.

"Isn't that a bit too cold of your father?" the old man gave him a smirk.

Jumin glared but maintained his posture. "I have no qualms on how you treat me here but I don't really think I wanted to hear that from you"

Must he remind him that the old man wasn't a great father, too?

The minister waved his hands, "I don't even know if those twins are really mine and they were useless to me. A burden to be honest."

Jumin clenched his teeth. There was no use on arguing with the guy.

"I have no intention of getting involved with you or your company anymore than this. It is my business what I would do whether or not I will be able to finish our deal on the alloted time of my father." Jumin said coldly.

He made up his mind.

Even if there is a huge raise for the company to collaborate with this company in the future, he decided that it was risky and dangerous to involve himself or his company.

He may look like any old business man but this level of security he has in this place is distressing.

Jumin was most likely not given dangerous information about his deal.

He wasn't aware of all the consequences if he landed it or if he failed. And he was fine with that.

At the very least, he won't be detained for that information.

He slowly stood up and was preparing to walk out and go back to the tasks at hand.

"Your assistant seems very capable. She was with you, how long? Almost 3 years?" the minister said idly.

Jumin looked at him passively.

"She is one of your friends, right? I feel that she has a lot of potential. What do you think if I invited her here?" the man smirked, urging for some reaction at the kid.

Jumin raise an eyebrow.

"My assistant is capable of choosing for herself. I have no say on what she will do with your offer."

Jumin lowered his eyes at the sitting guy.

"However, as her boss, I will do whatever it takes for her to choose me over you"

Jumin bowed. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a deal to land"
