Zen clicked his tongue. The guy only need to talk to him for a few minutes. What's taking so long?
Zen was waiting in the lobby of the C$R company. He arrived ten minutes earlier informing no one. Not even Jaehee.
He thought maybe Seven already knew he's here. Head of security and all.
Zen kept fidgetting in his seat. Maybe this was a bad idea. Jaehee can't even get any info from the guy, how could he?
He wasn't giving up though. This is the only thing he thought he could do to help. He can't think of anything else at the moment.
A man in a suit exited the elevator and Zen recognized him as the guy he came here to talk to.
It was rare for Zen to hate someone before he even know them but this guy's face irritates Zen to the core.
Zen plastered a fake smile. "Thank you for meeting me on short notice" he said offering his hand.
Jay shook his hand firmly, smilling a bit.
"Yes, it was surely a surprise. I needed to postpone my next meeting" Jay answered eyeing Zen.
A vein popped in Zen's temple. This jerk, Zen thought.
Jay gestured for them to sit.
"How can I be of service?" the guy politely smile. Zen resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
"I apologized. Let me get to the point, I'm friends with Jumin and I wasn't able contact him." Zen paused. Should he need to say more?
Jay gave him a thoughtful glance. "He is currently doing business on another country. It isn't known when he'll come back"
Zen waved his hands, "I know he was in America dealing with something. I wanted to know why I can't get a hold of him."
Jay rubbed his chin in thought.
It seems like everything the guy does pisses Zen. Zen wasn't even sure why.
"Mr. Han is on a very important business. I'm afraid I can't give you any more information since I don't even know you. Please understand"
Zen screamed in his head.
"Look, I only wanted to talk to the guy. He's been what? Out for almost 3 months and I really need to talk to him" Zen pleaded with downcast eyes.
Jay looked at him for a second. He sure is a good actor. Not that he was completely sure that the white haired guy was using his acting skills on him.
"Let's be reasonable, shall we? If the director contacted you before he left, then you should be able to understand why he wasn't replying to you." Jay said looking straight to Zen's eyes.
"If he didn't, then we both know that you don't need to concern yourself this much about it."
Zen deflated, eyes wide.
The guy was making sense. Jumin didn't tell him anything before. Why would he now?
Maybe he was the only one worried while the man was just busying himself on something mundane to Zen.
Zen casted his eyes on the floor. He was more dejected than angry with Jay. Zen didn't really have the right to ask if Jumin didn't even tell him anything.
Zen wasn't looking at him anymore and Jay nodded. Jay guessed the guy was feeling entitled to his young master. Why? Jay doesn't know.
Jay has met a lot of people just claiming that they know his young master and demanding things. Of course, this wasn't the first time Jay told them off.
Jay would just have to tell his young master after all of this. It was an easy thing to dismiss. He wasn't being rude. He was just telling everyone what he thought.
His young master shouldn't have to answer this kind of demands.
Jay made to stand up when someone gripped his wrist.
"Is he okay?" Zen asked not looking at the man.
Jay could understand. The young master has a way to make anyone who knows him worry about his well-being.
"Of course. He's just doing a business job." Jay answered, taking a hold of the man's hand.
Zen tightened his grip. "Please take care of him" Zen said. His eyes glistening.
Is this an act? Jay wondered.
Jay wasn't that well versed about acting but he knows he's able to get an accurate read on people.
"Should we take a walk?"
Zen was acting strange. He knew this.
It's not like him to tear up easily. Not outside of his stage.
He can't even tell why he was trying this hard to help. He was just tired.
The realization earlier just made him weak. Zen wasn't close to Jumin. In fact, he always acted the coldest when it comes to the guy.
Why would Jumin even think of telling him anything?
They are now walking in one of the floors of the company. Jay said that it made him realized just how big their company is and how important it was to maintain the peace among themselves.
Jay gave him a side glance. "What were you going to talk about with the director?"
Zen sighed not looking at the man.
"I wanted him to apologize." Zen answered honestly. Jay chuckled.
"You came barging here demanding an apology?"
Zen flushed. Well it sure did sounded silly.
"Can't say it doesn't happen. The young master has the tendency to offend most people unconsciously" Jay mused.
Zen blinked at him. "Young master?"
Jay stopped, facing Zen. "Yes, I know the director since, well, birth"
"I was born into the family who solely serves the Hans. I know. It sounds foolish and out of date. But we were. We don't treat them as royalties, it's not like that. It's just that my family loves working for them." Jay clarified.
"So you're Jumin's childhood friend?"
Jay shook his head and laughed. "It was more of boss and employee relationship. I knew him, yes. But I wasn't working for him since birth. My parents were understanding and gave me the freedom to choose my career."
"He only let certain people to his side. I think he only saw me after I worked for him." Jay said nonchalantly.
Jay walked into a room and moved to the couch.
"Anyways, enough about me. What is your relationship with the young master?"
Zen froze. It wasn't that he didn't thought of that. It's just that he didn't know the answer yet.
"He's my friend"
Jay looked at him skeptical.
"That all?"
Zen slightly nodded. "Yes, I would say I hated him months before. But now..."
It must be something about Zens expression but Jay put his hands on Zens shoulder.
"It's gonna be alright"
