Early one morning, a rogue looked on towards the meadow pride from atop of a small cliff. A snarl escaped his lips as his eyes wandered to the royal family, asleep on their perch.

What a pathetic Pride. The rogue sneered. This is going to be easier than I thought…

Slowly he stalked his way down the cliff, looming in the shadows. The king and queen were snuggling close to their children, completely defenseless.

The rogue extended his claws and let out a roar as he pounced at the king, biting deeply into his neck.

The king awoke and roared in pain, trying to push his attacker off.

"Moto!" Kelani gasped, waking up immediately.

"Mom? What's going on?" Rami yawned.

"Furaha! Cheza!" Kelani picked up her newborn cub and put her in her barely awake daughter's jaw. "Get Rami and Akeylah out of here!"

"But mom-" Rami tried to protest.

"Now!' She snapped, quickly turning to slash her claws in the face of her mate's assilent.

Cheza gripped Rami tightly in his jaw and ran off with his elder sister.

"Wh-what's going on!?" Rami squeaked out.

His siblings didn't reply and instead stuck him and Akeylah into a small grove of rocks. Cheza stood in front of the makeshift hideaway while Furaha ran over to assist the now awake Pride in fighting off the rogue.

Akeylah let out a small cry in fear. Rami pulled her close and stroked her back gently. "Hey it's okay...it's okay….I think…." Rami tried to look out in between Cheza's legs but he couldn't make anything out.

The blood curdling scream of his sister filled the air as Cheza ran over to his family. The rogue fought fiercely against the royal family and the lionesses.

Akeylah mewed in fear, clinging to Rami's leg. Thinking quickly he picked up his sister in his jaw and ran off.
