Jumin POV
He blinked.
It wasn't all the time that he dreamed about that past.
It was kinda laughable how Elizabeth the 3rd was kind of a burden to him before.
He didn't even bother to pet or greet the cat when he is busy or in a bad mood.
That night, his life changed. He didn't know he was capable of caring about something he thought was insignificant.
He remembered running to the elevators, running to the streets.
He was glad he knew the place well and where he could find someone to fix her.
To help her.
Before he knew it, he has ran ten blocks to the nearest 24 hour animal clinic.
Only when they got her did he realized, he doesn't have any footware.
It doesn't matter.
He was on vacation a week after that. The vet said it was only a flu. Something cats get occasionally. Though they feel like Elizabeth the 3rd is a little stress out. Jumin reevaluate the situation.
He never really had anything other than a litter box and cat food. Only the essentials.
The next day, he gave everything she needed.
Her own playhouse, her own gym. Though it took a day to get that in order.
He got her her own doctor just in case something like that ever happened. A doctor that is 24 hours on call everyday. He proposed to his father to add an animal clinic in their building.
He thought about getting her a cat sitter but he can't bring himself to give her to a stranger.
He doesn't even trust anyone else except V or Rika with her. He doesn't personally know the other two guys who recently joined RFA.
One is a normal kid named Yoosung, Rika's cousin, he talked normally, albeit a little bit shy and seemed like he looked up to his cousin.
The other one doesn't really talk much, Luciel. A bit odd name but it was said that is his baptismal name. He was one of Rika and V's friend. Not that he was introduced to Jumin guy or V mentioned this guy. The first time Jumin saw the guy in person was when they were discussing about the security. He was supposedly a genuis in technology. If Jumin would be perfectly honest, another factor that their meeting was tense because Jumin and Luciel do not feel comfortable with each other.
Jumin doesn't know if the red haired is even comfortable with the couple. He wasn't going to assume his entrepreneur persona to make the got comfortable. Jumin wasn't friendly and the guy isn't either.
Luciel did felt a bit odd with his red hair. But V also has an odd hair so he didn't question it.
He didn't need to know more. After all, they were all just gonna see each other once a year for the party.
It would be great if he has a trustworthy assistant who he can count on when he needed to get away for business trips.
A long brown haired woman stands before him.
With his enormous amount of practice about common courtesy, Jumin let out a little scowl for a second.
He returned to an analytical facial impression a second later.
He wasn't sure if the girl noticed it.
"Ms. Jaehee Kang, you are applying to be my secretary, correct? First of all, I congratulate you on passing the five exams and four interviews so far to get here." He raised his eyes on her.
The girl nodded smilling, "Yes, Mr. Han. I'm blessed to have this opportunity to prove myself to you."
"Are you sure you didn't want to be my father, the chairman's assistant?" Jumin looked at the files.
He doesn't really like her but it was because he knew that she was his father's type.
Minus the credentials.
If only, she could have a short hair.
"I'll do it Mr. Han. If you don't like long hair, I can cut it."
Jumin was a little rattled by her outburst.
He didn't even know he was saying that out loud. He was tempted to ask her if she heard about the part of being his fathers type.
"Are you sure? I know a girl's hair is one of their treasure. And I didn't mean to be prejudice, you know that since you managed to get here, you are entitled to a job. It was only a matter of whose assistant you'll be"
The girl nodded. "I was raised to reach for the top and I deemed you, Mr. Han to be the top here right now. I mean no disrespect but I would rather be an assistant of the Executive Director rather than the Chairman." she paused to breathe.
"I don't understand, Chairman is obviously the top. You do know the organizational chart of this place, correct? It is not even different in any other companies." Jumin was genuinely confused. The girl does not make sense.
"Mr. Han, you are the one handling most of the business hunt, preparation, building and completion. Your father, the chairman, is the one handling these finished and completed businesses. Is my understanding correct?"
Jumin frowned. How did this girl know that? It wasn't the executive director's job but he admits that is what his work entails right now.
"How did you know that?" he asked perplexed.
Jaehee blinked at him and tilted her head to the side.
"It was all over the news.?" she said confused.
Jumin wanted to plant his face on his desk. Of course. He was interviewed about that a month ago. How could he forget.
"You are certainly qualitied to be my assistant. I don't have any assistant for the moment and won't probably have for the foreseeable future. No one will help you with your work and you are not allowed to ask for help since what I do is mostly confidential and you will handle the organization of my work." Jumin looked at her, judging her reaction.
Jaehee nodded.
"This will entail that you'd be on call 24 hours even on holidays and weekends. Of course, this is all compensated." He was staring at her. He was sure she will disagree on these terms, after all he knew this was unfair.
Jaehee thought for a moment, "I will be able to file for leaves, right?"
"Of course. Since you will handle my schedule, I will always inform you of my business trips and short notice meetings. You will have to file a week before if your leave is only one day and three weeks before if it's longer."
"Understood."
Jumin sighed. "This will be hard for you. I never had any long term assistant. They didn't even bother to ask to be an assistant of other employees. They just left."
Jaehee nodded. A bit bubbly for Jumin's taste.
"Are you sure you can take it?"
The girl's eyes shone.
