Chapter 6: Shopping and meeting a new friend.
A/N: For anyone that read last chapter and saw it as a three bedroom house, I changed to to a four bedroom house to have a spare room. Oh I also forgot to change her name so it's just going to stay Kagome. Hope you all enjoy this chapter!
Kagome decided since it was so late that she was just going to rent a hotel room for the night. Luckily, there was one about a twenty minute walk from here. She saw the hotel on the cab drive to her new house. She sighed, adjusting Aya on her hip and grabbing Hiro's hand and started walking.
About twenty-five minutes later Kagome entered the hotel building with a kid on her back and one on her front.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The receptionist ask from behind the counter.
"Hi, I need one room for the night, please." Kagome answered.
"Of course! Let's see here, single or double bed?"
"Double, please, also do you have a playpen?" Kagome asked.
"Yes we do, let me grab that for you. Here's your room key, you'll be in room 202."
"Thank you." Kagome said grabbing the room key and playpen. She left looking for the elevator before getting on it and going up a floor. She put the room key in the slot unlocking the door and pushing her way through. She walked in and sat on the bed, letting a sigh escape her lips.
"Mommy, I hungry." Hiro complained.
"Hmm," Kagome put her finger on her cheek pretending to think about it making Hiro laugh. "How about pizza? And it's 'I'm hungry' not 'I hungry."
"Yay! I'm hungry!" Hiro pumped his fists in the air using the correct wording. Kagome smiled picking up the the pizza brochure before picking up the phone and ordering a medium cheese pizza and bread sticks. She then walked to the mini fridge grabbing three bottles of water, turning on the TV on her way from the fridge. She flipped through the channels looking for a cartoon for the kids to watch. Finding one with a weird talking yellow sponge she settled on that.
About an hour later there was a knock on the door. Kagome answered and paid the pizza boy. She then picked Aya up and grabbed Hiro's hand and went do to where the breakfast area was grabbing three paper plates before returning to her room. Kagome cut a slice into very small pieces before blowing on the piece to cool it down. She then gave Hiro his own piece before munching on her own slice.
After baths were given and all teeth were brushed Kagome laid Aya down in the playpen and tucked Hiro in the second bed. She then curled up in her own bed and soon fell asleep.
Kagome shot up in bed breathing hard and sweaty. She looked over at the clock it was 4:30 in the morning. "Could've done without all the nightmares." She mumbled to herself. Kagome got up to check on Aya then turned to cover Hiro back up. She walked into the bathroom turning on the shower. Once she was done taking a shower she walked back into her room. She looked at the clock, "a couple minutes till five." Kagome sighed and with nothing better to do she laid back in bed and stared at the wall.
Seven rolled around and she woke her kids up-got them dressed then went downstairs for breakfast. After they ate she checked out, called for a cab, and was on her way to the furniture store.
*Break*
"Hi, do you deliver?" Kagome asked a sales person.
"Yes, we do! How may I help you?"
"Well, I have kind of a big order. I need two queen bedroom sets a twin bedroom set and a toddler bedroom set. I also need a living room set and kitchen table along with kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer." Kagome listed all the things she needed.
"That is no problem! We have all of that here. If you would follow me we will start with the bedrooms." The sales person said leading Kagome to the bedroom section.
Kagome picked out a nice queen bedroom set for her room. The bed had pegs on all four corners and had bars connecting the pegs at the top with white see-through curtains hanging from the bars. The dresser was a pale brown color with six drawers and a beautiful mirror attached to it. There was two side tables with one drawer on each of them and a vanity with a mirror with lights all around it with enough doors and drawers to put her make-up and jewelry inside. The side tables and vanity was the same pale brown that the dresser was. The rug was a pale blue with a beautiful floral pattern on it.
The spare bedroom Kagome picked out a design that was almost like hers but instead of pale brown it was cherry wood-and instead of see-through white curtains it had see-through grey curtains. The rug was red and white floral design. Other than that it was the same.
Kagome let Hiro pick his own bedroom set out. He picked a twin bed that was raised off the round; the only was getting on it was by latter. However, you didn't have to use the ladder to get down because there was a slide attached to it. The beds frame was a dark brown color matching the four drawer dresser and the two side tables. To complete his room a dark blue shag rug and a dark brown with dark blue doors and drawers toy chest.
For Aya she picked out a white wooden with purple flowers toddler bed frame. With a white and purple flowers four drawer dresser. A white with purple drawers, doors and shelves toy chest. With a purple flower rug to complete the look.
With the rooms all done Kagome went to the living room section. She picked out a dark grey "L" shaped couch with a matching love seat and rocking chair. The set came with two circular glass side tables and a large circular glass coffee table. A dark brown entertainment center with more than enough space to put the few CD's and DVD's that she had. With a dark grey and white rug.
Moving on from the living room section to the kitchen section. Kagome picked out a small black table that sat four people, a black double door refrigerator that had a window on it you could knock at a light comes on and it makes round ice cubes! Kagome had to have it! A black electric stove that had a little screen on it that you can look up recipes or watch cook tutorials. She also picked out a black dish washer. She didn't know what it was but she had always loved black kitchens.
Kagome walked to the washers and dryers, she picked out candy red washer and dryer set. The doors opened from the front on both of them and you can either sit them side by side or stack them.
"Okay I think that's it." Kagome said.
"Alright! follow me to the check out counter." Kagome nodded and followed after the sales person. "Do you want a payment plan?"
"No, I want to pay in full today." Kagome answered.
The sale person's jaw dropped. "But that's over ten thousand dollars! Are you sure you don't want a payment plan?"
"That's okay! I have it." Kagome counted out the money and gave her the address before heading out of the store.
With all the shopping done for right now, Kagome hailed a cab, stopped at a 'McDonalds' and went home to wait for her furniture to arrive.
As she was walking inside with her kids the neighbor was getting out of her car. Kagome saw her walking over with a smile on her face.
"Hi, I'm Sango."
"Hi, I'm Kagome and these are my kids Hiro and Aya." Kagome introduced herself and her kids.
Sango was visibly shocked. "Kids? But you don't look over 17!"
"I'm 16 and yes my kids. It's a long story that I'm not ready to open up about so please don't ask." Kagome begged.
Sango nodded. "Okay, so where you moving from?"
"Japan. Hey, Sango, if you're not busy-I have a shipment of furniture coming here in a little bit. Do you want to come in and help me set up? You can have my fries." Kagome answered/asked.
"Japan, huh? I used to live there but we moved here when I was five, and sure I'd love to help."
Kagome smiled, glad she made a new friend so easily.
Please review. Until next time, bye.
