Chapter 10: Just Drop it.

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha!

The coach blew her whistle cutting off further conversation. "Okay class! It's combat day!"

"Our discussion is not over." Inuyasha said before walking away.

"Combat?" Kagome asked Sango.

"Yeah, we each have a weapon and we learn self-defense and different fighting skills." Sango exclaimed.

"Fighting? Weapons!? I don't know how to fight!" Kagome exclaimed.

"It's okay." The coach said overhearing the conversation. "Just close your eyes and the weapon you're meant to wield will call out to you."

Kagome looked around and saw Miroku standing with his hand in front of his face with his eyes closed holding a monks staff. She then saw Sango as she threw a huge boomerang catching it with one hand before throwing it again like it was nothing. She then saw Inuyasha with a huge sword jumping and darting an invisible attacker then he called out and huge strikes of light came out spreading in different directions destroying everything in its path.

Then it clicked the flashes of a monks staff, a giant boomerang, the flashes of silver and the voices! 'It was them! They were protecting me in my nightmare! They fought off the monsters.' Kagome thought, she closed her eyes and listened.

Passed all the grunting, shouting, clanking of the other weapons being wielded already. Kagome saw a light, "Kagome," the voice whispered. Kagome furrowed her brows trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. "Kagome, come." Kagome started walking against her will with her eyes still closed. "Kagome, open your eyes." The voice whispered and Kagome listened.

Kagome was standing in front of a bow and arrow set. Reaching out to pick it up she immediately felt the power move over her entire body. "Whoa!" She whispered.

"It's pretty great, isn't it?" A voice Kagome said making her jump. She turned around and saw that it was Inuyasha.

"Yeah." Kagome said looking at the bow.

The group walked out to the parking lot on their way to go home. "So, about the pool party?" Inuyasha began.

"I already told you I couldn't go." Kagome said wishing he would just drop it.

"Why? It'll be fun." Miroku said.

"I just can't!" Kagome sighed.

"Kagome, I'm sure my mom could watch the k-"

"Sango!" Kagome shouted cutting Sango off. "I just can't go!"

"Kagome-"

"Just drop it, Inuyasha!"

Sango touched Kagome's shoulder making her jump.

"What's up with you?" Inuyasha asked. "You try to act all happy and like you got your shit figured out but if someone touches you or speaks to loud you jump or go into a full blown panic attack! Something is up with you-so what is it?" When Kagome didn't say anything Inuyasha continued. "You try to hide behind your smile, but I can see the sadness and anger in your eyes-we all can!"

"Because that's how I had to live my whole life, Inyasha! Pretending to be happy because if I showed any other emotion then that meant trouble for me! Do you know how tiring it is to always pretend to be happy when you really just want to fall apart!?" Kagome shouted.

"Kagome?" Inuyasha began.

"Just drop it, Inuyasha." Kagome whispered getting in the passenger seat of Sango's car.

*Break*

The next morning Inuyasha walked up to Kagome in the parking lot.

"Kagome."

Kagome rolled her eyes. "What Inuyasha?"

"I'm really sorry about yesterday. I should have just kept my mouth shut."

Kagome sighed. "It's okay Inuyasha, maybe one day I'll be able to open up about my past but not right now." Kagome said and Inuyasha nodded.

They walked inside the building they walked around the corner-Inuyasha was looking at Kagome when he saw her jaw drop. He looked up as some guy pushed Kikyo up against a locker kissing her with her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. The guys hands were cupping Kikyo's ass.

Inuyasha walked over to them and cleared his throat making the pair break apart.

"Oh, Inuyasha! It's not what it looks like." Kikyo said unwinding her legs from the guys waist. Once she was off of him he bolted.

"Yeah, I just bet it wasn't. We're over, Kikyo." Inuyasha said walking away making Kagome run to catch up with him.

"What!? Inuyasha! No one breaks up with me!" Kikyo shrieked.

"I just did!" Inuyasha threw over his shoulder.

"We'll just see about that!" Kikyo growled but Inuyasha was already gone.

*Break*

The group had first, lunch, fourth and sixth periods together. They were walking to their fourth period together-choir.

"Alright students, you have a project starting today. You are to write two songs about your life and sing them in front of the class. Today is Friday so you'll have the whole period today and over the weekend to work on it. It's due Monday." The choir teacher announced. "You may start to work on them now."

Everyone got to work but Kagome was tense staring at her blank paper-when a folded piece of paper landed in her vision. She sighed and opened it.

'You okay?' It said and she recognized Inyasha's handwriting. She looked up and noticed that Inuyasha, Sango and Miroku was all giving her concerning looks.

'Just not excited about this assignment.' Kagome wrote back and tossed it back to Inuyasha.

'Why not? It's just your life.'

Kagome sighed. 'Because my life has nothing but bad memories.'

'Oh, I'm sorry. Hey, Sango and Miroku comes over to my house every Sunday for dinner. Do you wanna come?'

Kagome couldn't help but to smile. 'Sure, if I can bring a couple of kids that I babysit?'

'Sure, that's fine.'

Just then the bell rang.

"Hey, can I have your number?" Inuyasha asked.

"Sure, give me your phone." Kagome said.

"Okay, give me yours." They switched phones, putting their numbers in and then giving them back.

Please review. Until next time, bye!
