Chapter 14: I Don't Think I Can Do This.
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha! I don't own the songs, they belong to Demi Lovato.
A/N: I know these songs belong to Demi Lovato but pretend that Kagome wrote them.
The next day the group stood outside the choir door because Kagome was having a hard time breathing. She couldn't move her legs to go through the door.
"I don't think I can do this." Kagome said.
Miroku laid his hand on Kagome's shoulder. "Don't worry Kagome." He said.
Sango grabbed her hand. "We'll be there for you."
Inuyasha wrapped an arm around her waist. "Yeah, we won't let anything or anyone hurt you ever again."
Kagome smiled. "Thanks you guys! You all mean the world to me!" Kagome took a deep breath. "Okay, I'm ready." They all walked into the room together.
"Okay, class. Did everyone finish their songs?" The choir teacher asked.
"Yes." Everyone said at the same time.
"Okay, then. Let's get started. Evan you're up first." The teacher announced.
As the few students went and sang their songs the more nervous Kagome got.
"Kagome, your turn." The teacher said. Kagome took a deep breath then went to the front of the room.
Kagome took another deep breath. "My first song is called 'Skyscraper'.
"Skies are crying, I am watching
Catching teardrops in my hands
Only silence as it's ending
Like we never had a chance
Do you have to make me feel like
There's nothing left of me
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper
As the smoke clears, I awaken
And untangle you from me
Would it make you feel better
To watch me while I bleed?
All my windows still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper
Go run, run, run
I'm gonna stay right here
Watch you disappear, yeah, ooh
Go run, run, run
Yeah it's a long way down
But I am closer to the clouds up here
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper, ooh
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper
(Like a skyscraper)
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper"
Kagome looked at all the students as their jaws dropped and then around of applause. "Kagome, that was really good! Is your second ready?" The teacher asked.
Kagome nodded. "Yes, my second song is called Warrior."
"This is a story that I have never told
I gotta get this off my chest to let it go
I need to take back the light inside you stole
You're a criminal
And you steal like you're a pro
All the pain and the truth
I wear like a battle wound
So ashamed, so confused
I was broken and bruised
Now I'm a warrior
Now I've got thicker skin
I'm a warrior
I'm stronger than I've ever been
And my armor, is made of steel, you can't get in
I'm a warrior
And you can never hurt me again
Out of the ashes, burnin' like a fire
You can save your apologies
You're nothing but a liar
I've got shame, I've got scars
But I will never show
I'm a survivor
In more ways than you know
'Cause all the pain and the truth
I wear like a battle wound
So ashamed, so confused
I'm not broken and bruised
'Cause now I'm a warrior
Now I've got thicker skin
I'm a warrior
I'm stronger than I've ever been
And my armor, is made of steel, you can't get in
I'm a warrior
And you can never hurt me
There's a part of me I can't get back
A little girl grew up too fast
Kagome had tears streaming down her face. She saw Inuyasha stand up and walk to her side to put his arms around her waist.
All it took was once, I'll never be the same
Kagome saw Sango stand up, walked over to her and grabbed her hand on the opposite side of Inuyasha.
Now I'm taking back my life today
Kagome watched as Miroku stand up and make his way over behind Sango and lay his hand on Kagome's shoulder.
Nothing left that you can say
'Cause you are never gonna take the blame anyway
Kagome leaned against Inuyasha, gripped Sango's hand tighter and placed her free hand on top of Miroku's. She was so grateful that she had such amazing friends that supported her.
Now I'm a warrior
I've got thicker skin
Now I'm a warrior
I'm stronger than I've ever been
And my armor, is made of steel, you can't get in
I'm a warrior
And you can never hurt me again
No, oh, yeah, yeah
You can never hurt me again"
Kagome turned and buried her face in Inuyasha's chest. Reaching her hand out for Sango and Miroku pulling them in the hug as well.
*Break*
Later that night everyone was sitting around Inuyasha's kitchen table.
"What am I going to do?" Kagome asked. "I'm out of money. I have no money to get food, pay my bills or keep my kids in daycare!"
Overhearing the conversation Mrs. and Mr. Takahashi stepped into the kitchen. "We've been talking about your situation and we want you and the kids to stay here. We've got plenty of rooms and I'll watch your kids while you're at school or whenever you need me too."
"O-oh, I-I can't do that! It's too much, I don't want to be a bother." Kagome said shocked.
"You're not a bother at all, Kagome." Mr. Takahashi said. "Please, we insist."
Kagome sighed, she knew she didn't have much choice but she still felt like she was imposing. "Well, I guess I need to put my house on the market.
Iziyoi broke out in a huge smile, hugging Kagome. Kagome jumped but hugged her back.
"Hey, Kagome, are you going to the dance next weekend?" Sango asked.
Kagome looked down at the table. "I don't have any money for a dress."
Inuyasha shifted, pulled his wallet out of is pocket and handed Kagome a gold credit card. "It has no limit."
"Oh, no, Inuyasha. I couldn't." Kagome said shaking her head.
"Just take the damn card, Kagome, please." Inuyasha demanded.
Kagome sighed and took the card out of his hand.
Please review. Until next time, bye!
