J.R. is up before Crosshairs. She doesn't mind he's been sleeping in the bed with her. It's been helping her, and now she likes it.
She goes to Jamie's room, expecting to see Drift sleeping on the bed with Jamie on him.
She didn't think Jayce would be by Jamie. Instantly J.R. begins to panic, even though Jamie is no longer on life support.
"J.R.!" Jayce screams as she sees J.R. standing by the door. Jayce knows she scared J.R. She has J.R. sit on the floor, hoping to keep her calm and not cause an anxiety or panic attack.
"Easy, I didn't do anything to Jamie, though I want to take care of her like I should have been all this time."
The two sit quietly until Crosshairs walks in, worried. He sits on the other side of J.R. and hugs her. Jayce repeats what she told J.R.
Crosshairs feels it's a good sign Jayce is recovering mentally but would rather talk to Bulma first.
He didn't have to wait long for Bulma to walk in. Of course, she is worried about seeing Jayce and J.R. in the room this early. Crosshairs asks her to talk in the hallway, which the girls have a hard time not worrying something is wrong.
"She wants to go back to taking care of Jamie. I think it's a good idea, now that Jamie is doing better, but I wanted to ask you first," Crosshairs explains.
"This could help her," Bulma guesses, "and I'll be with her. Though she's not going to like it."
The two return to the room; Bulma tells Jayce she can take care of Jamie. J.R. isn't sure about this as she and Crosshairs watch Jayce take care of Jamie. Jayce is happy to be taking care of Jamie. Bulma lets her do an exam though there's no need to.
She'll understand the slow heart rate is normal. Bulma thinks as she watches Jayce.
Drift walks in as Jayce is tube feeding Jamie.
"She's happy doing this," Crosshairs whispers.
Maybe this is what she needs, and we can avoid medication. Drift wonders as he watches Jayce.
Jayce and J.R. no longer refuse to eat food.
The Autobots still think they should be ready for either of the girls to refuse to eat. Though for now, Crosshairs made the girls oatmeal.
J.R. asks Jayce if she wants to get back to training, but Jayce doesn't want to without Jamie. J.R. doesn't want to train without Jayce, even though Vegeta told her she can join him.
An hour passes before Drift goes back to Jamie's room. Bulma explains to him she wants to decrease oxygen support to 20%
"That big of a decrease?" Drift worries.
"I know, but I think she'll do fine," Bulma assures him.
Crosshairs walks in, seeing how worried Drift is. Bulma quickly explains what's she's about to do.
You're really traumatized from seeing Jamie flatline. Crosshairs realizes as he hugs Drift.
"Let's go watch T.V. with the girls," Crosshairs whispers.
"No, I want to stay here," Drift replies, clearly worried Jamie won't be able to tolerate the decrease. They move the chairs by the bed, but not as close, as usual, to allow Bulma easy access to help Jamie if needed.
Come on, Jamie, I'm so tired of watching you fight for your life. Drift anxiously watches Jamie, hoping she'll do well.
The two mechs watch Jamie with Bulma for three hours before Crosshairs suggests seeing what Jayce and J.R. are doing. Even though Jamie has been doing well for the past three hours, Drift is still hesitant to leave the room.
"She's no longer critically ill," Bulma assures him, "I think she should wake up in the next few days. The level of the chemical is at what's considered normal."
This is good news to the mechs, but both worry how Jamie will be when she wakes up?
The three of them see Jayce and J.R. standing at the doorway, uncertain if they should come in. They heard what Bulma said. Now they worry Drift will still watch Jamie deal with short comas.
"Come here," Crosshairs tells them.
Each girl goes to their chosen support mech and hugs them.
Bulma can tell the two girls are happy hearing what she said but know they are not ok after watching Jamie flatline the first time, to wait just shy of three months to hear this shit is almost over. She worries Jamie's mental state will be a challenge this time around since Jadin attacked her, and that's what caused the severe flare-up.
All we can do is help them recover, help each other recover, and hope the girls don't have lasting effects from this.
That's what she tells the bots and Cade as they watch the girls still nap in the middle of the day.
"It's still going to be a few weeks before they begin to recover mentally," Cade observes, "I just hope this didn't traumatize them."
