Crosshairs and Drift decide to have relaxant ready, though they hope not to use the drug.
Crosshairs and Drift talk to Jamie when she wakes up, though she's clearly trying not to cry. Drift prepared more applesauce, uncertain if this will help Jamie understand Crosshairs and Drift love her and will take care of her.
"You know how much we love you," Crosshairs assures her, "but he's the only one who loves you romantically," he corrects, pointing at Drift, who laughs.
Crosshairs isn't sure if feeding Jamie will help show her they'll take care of her, but he gets a spoonful of applesauce and puts it in her mouth.
"How's she going to get stronger if we keep feeding her?" Drift laughs.
Though the two watch Jamie trying to tell Crosshairs, she wants more, though she can't say it a good sign.
"Fine, princess, I'll feed you just for today."
Jamie finishes the bowl of applesauce before Drift lays her on the bed to tube feed her.
"I want to take this slow to avoid you throwing up," Drift explains.
He and Crosshairs have a plan to get her to the point of eating full meals.
"I'm going to check on the other two," Crosshairs tells Drift.
I hope she doesn't freak out, realizing we'll be using diapers for a few days. Crosshairs dreads. I don't know what she'd think is worse; a diaper or helping her on the toilet.
Drift knew Jamie wouldn't like wearing a diaper. He watches tears roll down her face.
"You want me to help you on the toilet instead?" He asks as he rubs her abdomen.
He finishes changing the diaper, picks her up, and hugs her.
I hate seeing her like this. She's already worried Crosshairs, and I will tire of taking care of her, now she needs all this extra care. She's not processing how it's temporary. Drift dreads as he walks around the room, carrying Jamie.
"How is she?" Jayce asks.
"You know it's already hard for her to let us take care of her; now she's really struggling."
"Damn it...s-so her recovery will be seriously delayed," Jayce frets before crying.
Vegeta comes out of nowhere and hugs Jayce.
"It'll be a challenge, but she'll recover," he assures her.
"Go help Drift, Crosshairs," J.R. insists.
"We're letting her rest for today," Crosshairs explains, "we'll do a little therapy tomorrow."
Jamie doesn't complain as Drift evaluates her leg strength — or lack of— by having her stand on the floor with a little support. He can feel her struggle to stand, yet Jamie tries to move her legs before giving up. Drift sits on the floor with Jamie sitting with the wall supporting her. He gets the binder Bulma gave him with the therapy program that has always worked.
The problem is going to be getting her to walk and the others seeing her.
He tries to get her to talk, but his attempt results in crying. Drift isn't sure if she's frustrated, she's unable to make words, or that he's seeing her unable to walk or talk.
He puts his hands on her face.
"Listen to me; I love you and will take care of you. You know this is temporary."
Drift knows he'll need to repeat himself often.
What toys can even adults not resist that'll be good for her therapy? Drift wonders.
Bumblebee walks into the room, hoping Jamie will be ok seeing him since he's seen her go through this already. Drift isn't pleased Bee didn't ask first. He watches Bee sit on the floor in front of Jamie.
"It's ok, I know Crosshairs and Drift told you, but I'll repeat anyway; we all love and care about you. The others want to support you."
They want to see you, but it's clear your not ready. Bee observes.
He shows Jamie a squishy ball as Drift sits next to him.
"Look, it lights up."
Bee gets the ball to light up. The two mechs smile as Jamie takes the ball, seeing she's able to grip the ball.
"Can you throw it?" Bee asks.
The two mechs are less than five feet from Jamie, but Drift still worries this will upset her.
Much to both mechs surprise, Jamie did a good throw right to Bee. After a few throws to each mech, Jamie tries to tell them to move back a little, showing the mechs she's able to move her arm.
"Just a little, Bee," Drift instructs.
The two move a few inches back and continue to play with Jamie, eventually seeing a smile.
Neither mech understand why she feels comfortable with Bee — uncertain if the fact he's seen this before makes her feel ok being seen with him.
They play for ten minutes before Jamie is tired.
I don't like how quickly she's getting tired. Drift dreads as he lays Jamie on the bed and covers her with a blanket. Bumblebee stays until Jamie is asleep.
"She'll be ok; this is normal," Bumblebee assures him as they leave the room.
"I don't know if she'll be ok with three of us in the room — maybe four if Bulma wants to watch — but I think it would be good for you to help with Jamie's therapy."
"Yeah, I can take part. I think after a couple of days, she'll relax."
Both know it'll be at least a week before Jamie will let the others see her.
