"Do you still have the swing?" Vegeta asks Bulma, "she may be an adult, but have you noticed many adults still like the swing?"
The two watch Crosshairs and Drift play with Jamie, seeing she's relaxed, but will this last?
It's been five days, are we too late? She frets.

Crosshairs and Drift successfully taught Jamie a way to say 'yes' until she can talk. They don't know if her brain needs more time to wake up or the reason behind the inability to talk since the cause of the coma wasn't a brain injury. They know being bedridden for two months is the cause of her inability to walk They discover she can crawl like a baby as they watch her retrieve the ball from the other side of the room.
"This is good," Crosshairs smiles.
The two mechs like Jamie is relaxed while they're with her, hoping this continues. Crosshairs goes to check on Jayce and J.R.

Drift was hoping to reduce Jamie's embarrassment and get her on the toilet — though he knows she'd be embarrassed he's seeing her on the toilet — he didn't have the chance.
Well, at least she's not trying to avoid urinating. Drift thinks as he gets what he needs. Considering how she's already not pleased, I don't think it's a problem with knowing if she has to go or not.
Jamie is crying by the time he's done.
Should have let me die. She thinks as she hugs Drift. Not because she's embarrassed — though this is embarrassing — but because Crosshairs and Drift already do a lot for her and now take care of her like a baby.
This will never change, but we're running out of time before this is all permanent. Drift frets.
I don't want to scare her either.
Drift makes a 'do not disturb sign and tapes it to the window before looking over the papers in the binder, hoping Jamie will cooperate.

Jayce and J.R. lean on Crosshairs as the three of them watch T.V. Neither of the girls asked about Jamie. He knows both worry about her recovery, and telling them she's difficult will not help them. Crosshairs worries they'll have to tell Jayce and J.R. Jamie will never walk or talk.

The two girls want to see Jamie an hour later; Crosshairs believes Jamie should be napping now but discover the 'do not disturb sign. The two girls grab his arm tighter as he looks through the window on the door.
"Easy, she's ok, but it's hard for her to have even Drift watch her."
Damn, she's being difficult.
Crosshairs takes the two girls away from the room.

Crosshairs tries to keep the girls distracted for another hour before Bumblebee takes them. He didn't want to leave them, feeling they're unstable, but he knew they'd tell him to get back to Jamie.

Crosshairs walks in to find Bulma and Vegeta in the room. The scene is odd to Crosshairs.
"It's a swing though it looks like a giant net," Bulma explains, "this does help her relax and could be helpful with her recovery."
"I think it works a little too well," Crosshairs smiles, seeing Jamie has fallen asleep though he suspects she would have been asleep by now regardless of being in the swing or not. Crosshairs is pleased there was a little progress with physical therapy.
"This is complicated, especially since her case is unique. Technically her body overdoses on the chemical, but it's more like her body preparing for the fight when Jamie ends up in a coma," Bulma explains.
Then maybe the brain needs more time to wake up? Crosshairs wonders, anything to believe Jamie will talk again.

Bulma asks when the mechs want the feeding tube removed as Drift feeds Jamie. Both look at how skinny Jamie is, uncertain what the right choice is.
"There's no harm leaving it in for a while as she eats food. She isn't much lighter; rather, there's less muscle mass," Bulma explains.
The two mechs worry this time, Jamie will be out of fighting for good.

Drift positions the head of the bed to 90° before laying on the bed with Jamie on him after he wrapped her in a blanket.
Crosshairs sits by the bed.
"She needs a little sunshine," Crosshairs suggests.
"Now, while she's sleeping?"
"No, I'd rather she's awake, but you know she's not going to want to leave the room," Crosshairs sighs.
The two mechs debate on planning on taking Jamie for a walk and having the others stay in rooms. Hoping lying that everyone is back in Cade's dimension will help. Which got them talking about how they're going to try to get Jamie to not be afraid to let her friends see her in her current state.

Suggesting a walk goes as the two mechs thought; Jamie is not liking the idea. They didn't think she'd be trembling with fear. They had to ask if she is afraid Jadin will attack, knowing the state she's in; worried she'd say yes, but she didn't.
"Can we at least take you out to the balcony?" Crosshairs asks, "the others are in other rooms."
He wipes tears from her eyes, not expecting her to hug him.
"Come on, it'll be ok," he assures her as he stands upholding her. Jamie doesn't fight him but buries her head on his chest.
They decide to bring the wheelchair but go to the balcony with the tables.
Cade watches the two leave the room, wishing he could do more, but knows how Jamie is.

Crosshairs is able to put Jamie on a chair. They made it in time for the sunset. A few minutes pass before Cade and Vegeta approach the table with a cart. Cade quickly goes in front of the chair and crouches down. Jamie doesn't fight him as he takes her hands, but she's not liking being seen.
"It's ok, you know this is temporary. I want to help," Cade explains.
He shows her the food Vegeta put on the table.
"Go ahead," Crosshairs tells him.
Cade didn't think Jamie would let him put her on his lap as he sits at the table. The two end up sharing a plate. Though it's nothing Fancy; chicken tenders and cheese fries.
"I was already cooking," Vegeta explains, "I didn't know you'd take her outside. He wants to help more, so I let him come."
He made dinner for Crosshairs and Drift. It's a nice moment with Jamie calm and eating.
Cade doesn't know if he should say anything or not.

It's a relief Jamie ate everything though Vegeta didn't give her a full plate.
"That should be good for now," Vegeta tells Drift.
It's quiet as they watch the sunset. Until Bumblebee and Hound bring Jayce and J.R. out to the balcony. Drift picks Jamie up, and she buries her head on his chest.
"It's ok, Jamie; they want to support you," he tries to comfort Jamie.
Jayce and J.R. can't believe this is their friend who helped take down countless enemies. Vegeta takes the girls back inside and reminds them this is temporary; though he's worried, there will be some long-lasting effects for all three girls.
