Book One: Harry Snape and The Sorcerer's Stone (Year one as well)

Chapter One: The Vanishing Glass

Harry James Snape laid fast asleep inside his bed. Today was his cousin Dudley's eleventh birthday and next month would be his very own. His upcoming birthday would be extremely special to him because this September he would be starting his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Meanwhile his faithful canine companion Patches slept down at the foot of his bed. The previous year his father had managed to convince Professor Dumbledore the headmaster at Hogwarts to now allow dogs there so that his son would be able to take Patches when it was finally his turn to go to school. This was because Harry had had Patches ever since he was five years old and he knew that they would have a rather difficult time being separated from each other.

That's when suddenly Lily quietly knocked upon Harry's bedroom door and then slowly opened it and stuck her head inside while she flipped on the light switch. "Harry darling it's time to get up." She began softly. "Your brothers and sisters are already up, and you still need to shower and have your breakfast before we go to the zoo." She told him as Harry groaned and found that he could barely open his eyes.

"Oh come on Mum, can't I have five more minutes?" He questioned her eagerly.

"Not if you want to miss your cousin's birthday party." She replied. "Now get up please." She told him before she shut the door again and rolled her eyes while she walked down the hallway. "I swear that boy is eleven going on sixteen." She said with a slight shake of her head.

"Well Harry is going to be in for a very big wake up call when he realizes how early that he'll have to be awake for his classes." Severus said from the table before taking a sip of his coffee while Sarah, Tobey, and Evie sat at the table eating their breakfast and that's when suddenly all three triplets started fussing from their playpen.

"Okay Tuney, Sev, you know the drill." Lily began. "I'll heat up their bottles and then everybody grab a kid." She said.

"Those are babies though, they're not kids." Tobey pointed out while his father sat down his coffee mug and then got to his feet.

"It's alright son, I knew what she meant." He told him before he walked over to the playpen and picked Teddy up and held him inside his arms while trying to hush him and soothe his crying while Petunia did the same with Heather.

.

"Alright so here's how today is going to work." Lily began once they arrived in the parking lot at the zoo. "We're going to split up into three groups. I'll automatically have all three triplets with me, but it's up to the rest of you of which group you want to be in and make sure you are always where an adult can see you. Harry and Dudley that goes for you boys as well as I don't want either one of you getting lost. Is that understood?" She questioned them as Dudley nodded.

"Yes Aunt Lily." He replied while Harry nodded as well.

"Yes Mum." He told her.

"Okay, so that all being said who wants to come with me?" She wondered while Sarah and Evie started making their way towards her. "Alright so I'll have Sarah and Evie and the triplets,.. Harry, are you going to be with Tobey and your father?" She questioned him as she saw Tobey already making his way towards him.

"Yeah, sure." Harry replied as he started to follow his little brother and meanwhile Stevie and Chase followed Dudley who was busily heading towards his mother.

"Okay and Stevie and Chase you can feel free to go wherever you want to at any time since you both are adults." Lily told them before she started pushing all three strollers through the entrance way.

"You know Harry, I don't think you've been to this zoo since you were a tiny baby." His father began. "And that was back when you were with your other father." He told him. Harry didn't really remember his biological father since he was only a year old when he had been murdered by Voldemort, but he had previously spoken to him after he had graduated Charm School and James had told Harry how proud he was of him and wished him good luck at Hogwarts and told him that he would always be watching over him.

"So, do you think you'll be brave enough to journey into the reptile house this time?" His father questioned him with a grin. "Your mother told me that when you were a baby you were terrified of snakes."

"Well I've never been afraid of snakes." Tobey began. "I think they're cool!" He exclaimed excitedly while they started walking around the zoo together and seeing all the different kinds of animals like lions, and tigers, and bears. Oh my was Tobey excited to see the monkeys, but once they got inside the reptile house he started jiggling around.

"Daddy, I have to go potty!" He cried before Severus heaved a sigh and turned his head to look over at Harry. "Do you have to go to the bathroom?" He questioned him and Harry silently shook his head. "Alright then stay right here while I go take your brother." He told him while slowly bending over and then hoisted the six-year-old little boy up inside his arms and carried him away.

As Harry looked around he saw a bunch of kids banging on the glass and yelling at the boa constrictor to move and then he just simply heaved a sigh and slightly shook his head before turning to look back at the enormous snake.

"Sorry about that, that has to be incredibly annoying to have to put up with day after day." He said while the snake slowly lifted his head off of the ground and looked at him.

"Tell me about it." He hissed as Harry widened his eyes in complete and utter disbelief and bewilderment.

"You can hear me!? I thought that only Stevie could talk to animals." He said.

"Who's Stevie?" The snake questioned him.

"She's my cousin and she can talk to all kinds of animals since she works with them for a living." He explained.

"Well this is the first time that I've ever talked to a human before, but I was sort of wondering if you could do me a favor kid. I was born in captivity and all I want to do is go back to Brazil and be free. Do you think that you can let me out of here?" The snake asked him.

"I'd love to help but I don't know how." Harry replied but as soon as he thought about how much he wanted to free the depressed creature, something extraordinary happened. The glass containing the boa constrictor completely vanished and even though a part of Harry thought that he should be used to this sort of thing by now since he had been using accidental magic since he was three years old, his jaw dropped as the animal slithered over the fence and out of his enclosure and down onto the ground in front of him.

"Thanks." He hissed before started slithering away and people started screaming while he slithered underneath their feet and officially declared that he was on his way back to Brazil.
