Ch.1 You can take the titan out of the jungle but you can't take the jungle out of the titan.
Authors note: (Intro Chapter) Hello! thank you for reading!
The ground shook and everything looked like different coloured blobs.
So Hobbs was either in a can of jelly beans someone was shaking or was naked in a field filled with giants and no glasses in sight.
Thump.
He grabbed a patch of grass in front of him trying to pull his exhausted body forward, the stinging nettle plants scraping against his stomach.
Thump.
"Come on," Hobbs croaked, grabbing for more but instead feeling something unusually warm and fleshy.
He screamed and scrambled back thinking he'd reached for a tiny titan.
The figure opened its haunting mouth making 'Aahh' noises like a baby did to food and pinching gestures towards him.
Hobbs could do nothing but roll away slowly in a very undignified manner. It wasn't until he rolled into a cold mud puddle that he heard laughter.
"You're easier than in titan form."
The voice was young and indifferent, "Can't you see what's right in front of you?"
Hobbs squinted, "No, no I can't!"
"Over here." He felt a hand slap his bare back, someone with brown hair and lovely blobby eyes to match came into his view.
He tried to straighten before falling, "Who are you anyway, and what do you mean titan form?"
Two sticks dragged across the girls face, she just groaned and looked up at the sky like she was wishing a cloud would solidify and drop on him so she wouldn't have to answer him.
"Ymir. And titans, that was you and me, are giants that basically eat people. There's tons of them nearby right now so stop asking questions."
Hobbs' face dropped and ignored her order, "Eat people?"
"Yeah but it's not like we knew what we were doing, I figured out how to control my form and rip you out like a tick from a dog."
The way she described everything made it seem so insignificant.
From what he could make out, Ymir's face seemed to sour, "You can't do that though since I got you out. It was a waste of time."
"Then why'd you do it." Muttered Hobbs, feeling a surge of anger at her words.
Ymir looked at the clouds again, "You kept crying."
Her words left the air empty, neither sure what to make of it.
Why would he be crying? Did he eat someone and feel remorse?
A sick feeling settled in his stomach.
Hobbs slowly pushed himself up and stood, his legs threatening to give out at any second, "I'm..Hobbs."
"Is that short for hobbit?" Ymir taunted, towering above him.
His face went hot and he clenched his fists, thinking for a good minute.
"Yeah well-Ymirror mirror on the wall-"
He felt her grab his shoulder, "Shut up. Stop making lame comebacks or we'll get killed."
Ymir jerked him into a different direction making him almost fall and guided him until he got it.
They slowly made their way towards a clear area in the field.
"This probably won't work so if you get killed that's not my problem."
Hobbs stopped himself from making a face at her, he was starting to feel bad. He'd been so catty towards her when she was saving him, even if it was in the most annoying way possible.
She made a shooing motion at him, "I'm going to change."
But he didn't move, instead he held his hand out towards her.
Ymir stared at it as if it were a foreign object, "What, you thi-"
"Thank you."
He could've sworn her face had an expression other than her constant 'Yeah-that's-right' one for a moment or two.
But it quickly slipped back on when she hit his hand away, "Let's just go."
Hobbs flew backwards as she took a sharp rock from the ground and drew blood, a warmth cutting through the wind and light spots dancing briefly.
He looked up amazed at the giant in front of him, but to be honest, right now it just looked like the regular Ymir but bigger.
It made a weird guttural sound like a bird choking up food for its kids and swiped at him clenching Hobbs in its fist.
Titan skin was really weird, it felt like human skin but when it was all chapped.
Hobbs was raised up into the air, and then, it let go.
And dropped him into its mouth.
