Ch.2 . Skinny dipping.

"Oh,sick!"

It reeked so much he wondered if Ymir ate a cow or two on the way here.

A gross sound came from inside making it much warmer, which was probably her way of saying shut up.

Hobbs breathed but decided that was a bad idea, instead sticking to the side, faintly recalling a story of the man who got eaten by a whale.

Everything kept shaking so much he could barely hold on, it must've been hours before Ymir stopped because the only thing keeping him from falling asleep was the danger of slipping.

They slowed, the cavern of teeth opened and he was spat out like a hairball.

Hobbs sputtered and tried looking up but was placed onto its shoulder, Ymir's titan suddenly grasped onto some kind of brick.

Its huge eyes stared at him and made a notion with its head, pointing towards an opening in the massive wall before them, swarmed by titans big and small.

It launched itself at high speed, narrowly dodging a titan with a potbelly grabbing for Hobbs.

Once they reached a building not surrounded, she crawled to a halt.

Steam started to form, burning Hobbs arm making him yelp, she had forgotten to let go.

Tears formed in his eyes as she ripped the titans skin off her face, the heat climbing to his face.

"Shit!"

Ymir tried to pry the fingers loose but was covered entirely by a shadow, looming above them was a bald titan looking at them with a frown.

It made grabby hands at them only to fall and crash, sending debri everywhere.

A person with a green cloak stood atop its head, petting it, "Aw thats a shame! I would've loved to get a piece of your scalp and study the follicles!"

They put their hands over their eyes like binoculars towards them.

"What's with the nudity, think it'll make you faster?"

Hobbs suddenly realized he'd been without clothes this whole time and tried to cover himself, but the decaying titan hand had it taken care of.

Ymir however, looked unashamed and even went as far to put a hand on her hip, "That's not your business."

The kooky cloaked person slid down the titan smiling the whole way, walking over to them and copying Ymir's pose.

"I think it is."

Their face was dark and the way they said it made Ymir shrink back, she looked like she wanted to put them both on a dissection table.

"Bathing!" blurted Hobbs, fearing for Ymir's life.

They turned to Hobbs surprised, "Really? I bet that must've been a shock!"

A sword was suddenly pointed in his direction making him struggle to get away but the grip was still too tight.

Slice.

Hobbs slid out on the ground face first.

He felt a hand grab the back of his neck and lift him up effortlessly like a cat, looking over his eyes met with a small man who had dead eyes and hair parted down the middle, "What the hell are you naked for?"

"Oh, they said they were bathing, isn't that funny Levi!"

Levi looked disgusted and suspicious, "No."

Hanji clapped her hands, "Oh well, let's get you out of here then."

It was a mistake to visibly relax because Levi tightened his grip, "Don't think were setting you up to get cozy."

"Ah, I was trying to make them settle down before we took them...but oh well, you must've known running around like that would get you in trouble, with clothes it might've been a little more convincing."

Ymir looked horrified, "What are you going to do?"

"Oh just some questions!"

They were handcuffed to a table.

Well, tied. None of the cuffs they had were made for children, presumably because they didn't interrogate them as often.

A large blonde man was seated in front of them silently, with Hanji and Levi in the back, surrounded on each side by very unique looking armed soldiers.

He didn't speak for so long even they were getting creeped out, "Hey, aren't you going to say something?"

The man bowed his head, "Sorry, I'm Erwin, the commander of the Survey corps. We take our duty to defend humanity seriously, so forgive us for being a little off putting."

He folded his hands and analyzed their faces.

Hobbs didn't like the guy. The way he stared was exactly how a frog concentrating on a nearby fly did.

"From my sources I am led to believe you were found roaming in the Shiganshina district."

"Naked!" added Hanji happily.

Erwin nodded," Yes, and most unusually. Naked. You were only a few meters from the break in point, would you like to explain why? There are no known waters that would let you out alive either, they're swarmed with titans."

Hanji was gushing now, "It's like watching little birdies in a fountain!"

"Squad leader please stop, this is serious!"

Ymir banged her hands on the table, "We can't tell you!"

One of the soldiers showed off the tip of his blade, "Why? Would it interfere with your plans?"

"No! Because we don't know why we were there, we woke up like that outside the walls! We were just trying to get away from those things!"

The room went silent. Everyone else was gaping at Ymir, except Levi, who was staring directly at Hobbs.

"What do you mean….You got inside the walls..with all those titans, by yourself?"

"Yeah, we got lucky, is that so hard to believe."

The soldiers were about to loosen a can of hell but all put it back when Levi pointed at Hobbs with a lazy finger, "Hey, you."

Hobbs' felt his eyes burn. But it wasn't from crying.

He walked closer with his boots shuffling on the concrete, "I cut you out of that ugly thing's hand, and who knows where it's been. But I think you know."

Two soldiers shrugged at eachother, "What the hell is he saying?"

"What kind of stupid metaphor is that?"

"Shut up guys!"

"She's not lying!" Hobbs affirmed, looking him straight on.

"Then why was it dead when we got there."

Levi had a bored expression that made it seem like he didn't care for an answer.

"Because I did it."

Erwin turned to a defiant Ymir, "You?"

"It wasn't that hard." Ymir declared copying Levi's face.

"Not that hard?" growled a soldier that looked like an awkward Levi copycat.

"How'd you do it?"

"Glass. The stuff is everywhere."

Erwin looked at his hands, seeming to think.

The soldier with pointy hair that threatened them earlier was outraged, "Commander! You can't seriously be thinking of letting them go, none of what they said makes sense!"

He nodded, "True, but I admit things out of the ordinary happen."

Pointy hair scowled.

"But," Erwin held up a finger, "We cannot allow you both to go without supervision."

He stood up, casting a shadow down on them, "There will be a wagon waiting for all the new trainees next week, we'll determine if you are to be trusted. If you are, you'll be sent with them."

The soldiers all gaped and even Levi looked surprised.

Hobbs' heart sank and Ymir didn't look slap happy either.

"Commander!"

"Letting them in our ranks? What is he thinking?"

Erwin walked past them, momentarily leaning down to Hobbs, "We'll talk about your eye problem later."

Hobbs watched him walk out the door, talking all his time in the world.

What was he talking about?

Levi copycat looked at them as if they were some bug on his shoe, "If you two think we're letting you get away even with his order-"

"Shut up." Levi nonchalantly told him.

A ginger laughed quietly as the copycat looked crestfallen, Levi leaned down to both of them, "You do anything to endanger anyone, and I will deal with you. I don't care if he has some shitty plan in store for you both, got it?"

They remained silent.

"Let's go."

Hanji and Levi yanked both of their wrists and walked out the room.

As Erwin turned the corner disappearing completely, Hobbs noticed he'd been seeing a lot clearer than before.
