Chapter 16
Gryffindor Tower consisted of the Gryffindor Common Room and the dormitories Violet discovered as they walked towards the place, she would live for the next seven years of her life the place that would become her new house away from home.
The entrance to the Gryffindor common room had been concealed under a portrait called the Fat Lady and Violet didn't know if it was offensive or not but she also discovered that to enter she needed to learn a password that right now was "Albus Dumbledore." which thankfully wasn't that hard to remember
The Gryffindor Common Room sported several shades of red and gold and it looked amazing so welcoming and warm she could see herself loving it and being happy here.
A large fireplace dominates one wall the fireplace mantle was adorned with a portrait of a lion that looked so real she was tempted to touch it and see if it was really real.
The common room itself was a circular room full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. The common room looked very comfortable.
There are many windows that look out onto the grounds of the school and the moonlight entered freely.
The walls are decorated with scarlet tapestries that depict witches and wizards, but also various animals.
There are also bookcases located in the room, filled with various novels.
"Violet," said James Sirius and continued speaking when she turned and looked at him" The Gryffindor dormitories are also located in the Tower, with the two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. There are two staircases opening off the common room into the Tower itself: the boys' staircase on which the seven boys' dormitories are located (one for each year) and the girls' staircase, on which girls' dormitories are located (one for each year). Boys can't enter the girls' dormitory so remember that."
Everyone nodded their heads in agreement through they knew the explanation was only for Violet's benefit seeing that they already knew that.
After saying good night to the two boys the girls went towards their own room and if Violet had been as tired as she was right now, she would've loved to look around and take everything but she was so tired and decided to just go immediately in bed and fall asleep she would write to her parents tomorrow.
