Chapter 22

When the hour they had off had ended Violet and her friends walked towards their class and while she had thought about writing to her parents, she had decided to wait until after she finished everything so that she could write about everything to them.

Violet was so excited about this class more than she had been about her previous one because she had heard so much about Teddy Lupin from her friends.

When they arrived at the classroom, they saw that the Slytherins were already there including Antonia Goldstein the only Slytherin she had had the opportunity to talk to.

"Why are you all standing outside?" asked Lily looking at everyone

It was Antonia who answered while the other Slytherins looked at her with conscious eyes she would have to ask her about that" The door is locked we tried knocking but no one answered."

As soon as she said that the door opened and the professor appeared in front of them, he was tall, taller than her father with a heart-shaped face with just a hint of what most would call aristocratic features and green eyes with just a hint of grey in them. His hair was light brown which fell gracefully longer than what her grandmother would consider appropriate but it suited him.

The most prominent feature of his was the bright smile he had directed to all of them (no one except the four Teddy considered family noticed the fading bruise on his neck or the fact his lips were puffy all four of them smirked).

Violet stayed after everyone else had entered the room and when she was about to enter, she felt something brush her shoulder but when she looked around no one was there she continued to stay there until Lily called her" Come on Vi."

"Well," said the Professor" Now that Miss. Dursley has joined us, we can continue." the words were kind and he was smiling at everyone" My name is Edward Lupin and I will be your professor for most of your schooling hopefully," he added at the end and those who knew what he meant chuckled

As she sat down, she looked around and she still didn't find anything so she just brushed it off and turned the attention to the teacher whom she couldn't help but notice had changed not much but it was still noticeable.

"Is it just me or has Professor Lupin has changed?" she hoped she wasn't going crazy

She saw as Lily looked at her godbrother closer but she apparently didn't notice anything because she shrugged and said" It's possible after all he is a Metamorphmagus?"

"A what?" asked Violet looked at her friend's brown eyes

"A Metamorphmagus is a witch or wizard with the rare ability to change their physical appearance through sheer will alone, without the need of things most other wizards use. He inherited from his mother."

"Really." said the Muggleborn as she looked at her teacher whose hair was now as white as the chalk, he was using

"Yeah, when he is focused on something else, he tends to forget about controlling his powers it's funny especially when we were younger and others would flirt with him and his hair would turn bubblegum pink."

All the others chuckled and Violet couldn't help it herself when she imagined that particular part.

As Violet lay down in bed all in all the day had been great she had loved the lessons all of them surprising because she wasn't the studious one in the family, she had loved the teachers they all seemed really nice even the ones she hadn't met.

The food had been great all three meals so she wouldn't have to lie to her mother who had had her doubts about that and the best was that she hadn't felt left out of any discussion or conversation with her friends or anyone else had had.

She was very glad about that because for most of her life her best friend was her popular brother and while he tried to include her, in everything, she did feel left out from time to time.

Violet couldn't wait for tomorrow when she was going to have Herbology and Charms which seemed just as interesting as everything else.

As she closed her eyes and fell asleep, she totally forgot the weird feeling she had had before DADA and that she had to write a letter to her parents.
