Note: We're going to head back to the Evergreen Forest for this chapter, so I hope that you are ready for it. Before we move on, I want to say something to two reviewers.

EmpressLoveSiren23: Thanks for your review, and nice Transformers reference. I hope that you like this chapter as well.

Ron: Well, you'll have to see for sure if there will be involvement from other residents in the Evergreen Forest. Stay tuned.

Alrighty, now that I've done that, let's get on with chapter five.

Chapter 5: Friends and Family

Upon entering the Raccoondominium, Fox saw an aardvark sitting at the table with Ralph and Melissa. The aardvark had blue hair, and was wearing glasses. He was an inch taller than Bert, who followed Fox into the Raccoondominium.

"Fox, you're back." Ralph greeted.

"How did your talk with The Good Doctor go?" Melissa asked.

"Well," Fox spoke, "it didn't last long, but I wound up giving Dr. Bucciarati some of my blood so that he could have some DNA from a Lylatian."

"You know Dr. Rowan Bucciarati?" The aardvark asked.

"Yes, we spoke about the Lylat System, where I came from, and the portal that brought Wolf, Krystal and me here." The orange tod stated.

"He's our alien friend, Cedric!" Bentley said as he walked into the Raccoondominium.

"But Bentley, aliens aren't real." Cedric, the aardvark, stated.

"You've been proven wrong there, buddy." Ralph stated.

Fox walked towards Cedric, taking a seat next to him.

"I suppose that I should introduce myself to you?" Fox asked.

"No need, Ralph and Melissa told me about you and the other two." Cedric answered. "However, I'll introduce myself to you. My name is Cedric Sneer."

"It's nice to meet you, Cedric." The tod said as he shook his hand.

"What all did you and Dr. Bucciarati talk about?" The aardvark asked.

"We spoke about the portal that brought Wolf, Krystal and I here." The vulpine stated. "If not for Krystal telling Wolf and me that the portal can spawn on other planets in our native star system, we would have to wait ten to twelve years for it to come back."

"In other words, we need to be alert for when the portal spawns again." Bentley said.

Lisa walked into the room, moving towards Bentley.

"C'mon Bentley," she spoke, "mom and dad are waiting for us at home."

"Okay." Bentley said as he followed his older sister to the door.

"Bentley, wait!" Fox said.

Upon hearing the older male, Bentley stopped in his tracks.

"Can you and your sister tell your parents about us?" Fox asked. "In the very least, can you tell them that we're here until we head home?"

"I'll see what I can do." Bentley said before walking out of the Raccoondominium, Lisa following him.

Once the siblings were gone, Fox found himself speaking to Bert, Ralph, Melissa and Cedric.

"Good idea to have Bentley and Lisa tell their parents, Fox!" Bert said.

"Yeah," Cedric stated, "if you told me to tell Pop, he would sell you and the other two out to alien hunters."

"Smart idea, eh?" Fox asked. "Where are Wolf and Krystal at?"

"Krystal's in the bathroom, Wolf's out back." Melissa stated.

"I guess that I should make myself comfortable for the evening." The orange tod said.

"There's plenty of room in the clubhouse, come on!" Bert said as he led Fox out of the Raccoondominium. The two went through the Evergreen Forest, eventually coming across a small cabin. Opening the door to the cabin, Bert let Fox in.

"This place is rather small." Fox said.

"But there's enough room for you and your friends, Fox!" Bert said. "I hope you like it!"

"It's a nice clubhouse, thank you." The orange tod said.

"No problem," the raccoon said, "I'll call you for dinner!"

Later that night, Fox was in the clubhouse with Krystal. The cobalt vixen was sleeping on the mattress while the orange tod was sleeping on a chair. That was until he heard someone whispering in his ear.

"Fox, wake up."

Opening his eyes, Fox saw Krystal sitting up on the mattress.

"What is it, Krystal?" He asked.

"I have a headache." Krystal said.

"Maybe Ralph and Melissa can give you some headache medicine." Fox suggested.

"That wouldn't help, my telepathy keeps increasing." The cobalt vixen stated. "It might have something to do with the portal."

"Call me stupid, but I think that you might be able to detect when the portal will come back, Krys." The orange tod said.

"I've got data from the portal, so we'll be able to tell when it will come back with the tracker on my device." She said. "However, you have a good idea."

"I'm just sorry that your ankle got twisted." He told her. "Just because Wolf is your father, doesn't mean that he can shove you through a portal."

"And I'm sorry that the both of you have to help me get around. It would have been nice for the Raccoons to put my leg in a cast. Twisted ankles don't heal up by themselves."

"We might get you to the doctor after we meet the rest of the family. Go back to sleep, okay?"

"Okay."

Fox and Krystal went back to sleep, waiting for the morning to arrive.

When it was morning, Fox and Krystal ate breakfast with Bert, Ralph and Melissa. As for Wolf, he was still sleeping on the couch. Once they got done with breakfast, Fox, Krystal and Bert went over to Wolf.

"Wolf, wake up!" Fox harshly said.

Grumbling, Wolf opened his eyes and sat up. His single working eye glared at Fox.

"Can't I sleep for a little longer?" The one-eyed lupine asked.

"If we weren't speaking with the other members of the family today, we would let you sleep until you saw fit." Bert said.

"Shouldn't we be on the lookout for the portal?" Wolf asked.

"I haven't gotten a reading on the device yet," Krystal answered, "but we should still be on the lookout. If I get a reading, and a location, I'll tell you."

"But, for now, you guys should take a break." Bert said.

"Yeah, it wouldn't hurt the three of you to meet my brother and sister-in-law, given how you met my niece and nephew yesterday." Ralph added.

A knock came on the door. In response, Melissa went over and opened it. Standing in the doorway, Bentley and Lisa were in front of their parents. The father was wearing an orange vest and a tie, while the mother was wearing an orange shirt and a yellow choker. Like Melissa and Lisa, Mrs. Raccoon had pretty blue eyes. However, like Bert and Bentley, and unlike Lisa, Mr. and Mrs. Raccoon had bent noses.

"Hi Fox!" Bentley said. "Hi Krystal and Mr. O'Donnell!"

"Hey Bentley." Fox said.

"Greetings, extended Raccoon family!" Krystal greeted.

"George and Nicole," Ralph greeted, "meet our new friends: Fox McCloud, Krystal Bodimead and Wolf O'Donnell!"

"They're from the Lylat System, and from the future!" Bert added.

"We know, Bentley told uz." Nicole stated, her French accent flowing through.

"But we were doubtful that he was actually telling the truth." George noted.

"Now that you see that your son was honest, what do you think about us?" Fox asked.

"You kind of remind me of zat famouz actor, Andy Mercury, Fox." Nicole answered.

"Lisa told me that as well." The orange tod said.

"It's actually an honor to meet soldiers." George said. "Your line of work must be tough."

"My work is harder than Fox and Krystal's." Wolf said. "But, if I raised Krystal instead of the man who took her from me, we'd have the same line of work."

"Raised Krystal?" Bentley asked.

"To make a long story short, Wolf is Krystal's biological father." Fox stated. "Before he could leave Cerinia with Krystal and her mother, the King of Cerinia, Opal Bodimead, received word about her. After that, the King took Krystal from Wolf and gouged out his eye."

"Sacrebleu!" Nicole cried.

"That was only the beginning," Krystal added, "Opal treated me horribly as I was growing up! While he would usually beat me and yell at me, he did something particularly terrible when I was seventeen!"

"But she doesn't have to worry about him anymore." Wolf stated. "Not only did I reunite with her, but the bastard is in jail."

"I hope that he's on life imprisonment!" Melissa said.

"Yeah, guys like him don't deserve children, especially not ones that they stole from their real parents!" Bert stated.

"Relax guys," Fox said, "we don't need to worry about Opal Bodimead."

"Alrighty then." Bert said.

"Anyway, how are you staying hidden?" George asked. "You are aliens, aren't you?"

"Well, we've just been hiding amongst the trees as we travel to and from certain locations in the Evergreen Forest." Fox answered.

"That's a good idea, Fox." Lisa stated.

"How long do you plan to stay?" George asked.

"Look," Wolf said, "I hate to break the hearts of you Earth creatures, but we're planning to leave when the portal that leads back to Lylat comes back. When it does, you can pretty much say that Fox, Krystal and I will be gone."

"Can we say goodbye to you when you leave?" Bentley asked.

"You'll have to make it quick, kid." The one-eyed lupine said. "For the time being, I'll be staying here with my daughter and the idiot that's trying to get with her."

"Mind if we take a picture with you guys?" Lisa asked.

"Promise to keep it to yourselves?" Fox asked.

"We promize!" Nicole stated.

"Then we're fine with it!" The orange tod said.

"Hold on," Krystal said, "I'm sensing something bad."

"Don't worry, there's rarely a threat to the Evergreen Forest anymore!" Bert assured her.

Following the Raccoon family out of the Raccoondominium, Fox, Wolf and Krystal stood in front of a tree, towering over their ring-tailed allies. Melissa took out a camera and placed it on a tripod, setting it to take the intended picture. After thirty seconds, the camera went off, taking the picture of the Raccoon family and their Lylatian friends. After the picture was taken, Krystal went over to one of the trees and looked up.

"What is it, Krys?" Fox asked as he approached her.

"Hand me a rock." Krystal told him.

Before Fox could pick one up, Wolf walked towards Krystal with a rock. After that, the cobalt vixen threw it up, where it collided with something. Much to Fox's surprise, a surveillance camera fell out of the tree.

"You weren't kidding when you said that there were cameras all around this place." Wolf said.

"The two of you knew that there were cameras in the Evergreen Forest?" Fox asked.

"I sensed them while we were walking through." Krystal said as she held the damaged camera. "We were going to tell you, but you were busy."

"And I was out smashing the ones I could find the other day." Wolf added.

"Still, it would've been nice for someone to tell me that." Fox stated.

"Don't worry, Pup, you'll get a chance to destroy some eventually." The one-eyed lupine said.

"That's strange," Ralph spoke, "cameras weren't up in the trees before."

"Yeah, why are cameras up now?" Bert asked.

"Someone must have put them up for intel." Bentley surmised.

"Whatever the reason, it's better to avoid them." Fox stated. "We should head in before someone sees us."

"Right." Krystal said.

"Oh, I'll make you some peanut butter sandwiches for you, guys!" Bert offered, looking at Fox, Krystal and Wolf.

"How nice of you!" Krystal smiled.

"Yeah, I could go for one." Fox stated.

"Do I have to have one?" Wolf asked.

"Dad, c'mon, he's being nice!" Krystal told him.

"Fine," the one-eyed lupine sighed, "I'll have a sandwich."

Everyone went in the Raccoondominium, with Krystal carrying the camera she destroyed in. Once everyone was in, Fox closed the door, keeping them safe.

Note: Now that I've done that, I feel relieved. It just feels good to complete something you've worked hard on. Anyway, I hope that everyone had a nice week and that you're doing well. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
