I sort of came up with this when I was wondering what to post next... Review or PM me if you'd like a happy/alternate ending(s)!

Here he was, Draco Lucius Malfoy. Sitting in a muggle cafe no doubt. Who'd ever thought, that he'd grown to love muggle things one day? Well, a bushy-haired brunette changed his ways. No one ever thought that 'Draco Malfoy, the ex-death eater' would ever pucker up the courage to ask 'Hermione Granger, war-heroine' out. It was perfect. Both were happy, and life was great for the two of them!

But alas, all good things must come to an end. She worked in the Ministry, he was an Auror. When ever he came home, she was waiting. Then she'd complain that 'he could get his head hexed off if he wasn't careful.' But, in the end, he always survived and came back.

One mission, about Anthony Dolohov and his infatuation of killing wizards and muggles, however took him about 3 years away from her. She thought he was dead. He would never come back, she told herself. That was until Ron Weasley waltzed back into her life, and their friendship grew into so much more.

Of course, everyone found out, it was published in the prophet and it was news alright, news to one 'dead' Draco Malfoy.

So that's where he was, sitting in a muggle cafe reading about the two Gryffindors celebrating their 2 year anniversary in this new Wizarding restaurant. No one knew he was alive, only his family and...Astoria Greengrass. His foolish father signed a contract with Astoria's father, that they were to be betrothed.

He could've gotten out of it, yes. But Weasel just had to step in and take the girl. Oh well, that was how his story was supposed to end. He was the villain, who somehow got the girl, then once something happens she's swooped away into the 'hero's arms.'

He had no complaints over Astoria though, she was kind, caring, smart and beautiful...but none of those things compared to Hermione, his Hermione.

"D-Draco..?"

He looked up, and he saw her. Merlin, she was even more beautiful than when he left. "Gra- Hermione..." He nodded.

"You- how? I- Draco, I'm so sorry I didn't know-"

"It's ok." He interrupted, he looked at her and smiled with an understanding impression on his face. "You're happier, I can tell." He said.

She put her hand on the chair, and he nodded for her to sit. As she sat down, she took him in. Wow, he looked...different. A little older, but different.

"I'm sorry, Draco. If I'd known then..." she trailed off. "You would've waited?" He responded.

"You would've gone through the pain, thinking that I was dead? Waiting for me to 'come back'?" He started.

"You thought I was dead, Hermione. And I can understand where you're coming from, so you know what? I'm happy for you. Happy that stupid Weasel came and just- just carried you away to your happy ending!"

She was close to tears, Hermione could see the unshed tears of her- her ex. Sitting back down, he continued seeing that she didn't have a response. "All good things must come to an end."

"If you want, I could tell Ron and we could have the happy ending too-"

"Are you happy, Hermione?"

She looked down at her folded hands. Was she happy? Before, Ron made her feel like she wasn't a girl, like she wasn't beautiful. Draco made her come out and actually feel like herself...

But, "Ron's changed too Draco..." she said.

"Then I won't get into your way." Was his response before standing and walking out of the little cafe, Hermione watched as he crossed he street to the apparition point.

Now that she was alone, she pondered on his question. Are you happy? She looked back at the dark alley across the street, and no one was there.

See a review or two would make me so happy! Again, tell me if you'd like an alternate ending, or just one happy ending to make the story flow... Stay safe!
