Note: I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but the portal took Fox, Krystal and Wolf to the Evergreen Forest two weeks after The Raccoons' final episode. For that, I apologize. Before we move on, I want to say something to a reviewer.
Ron: Well, like I said before, I probably should have mentioned at what point in The Raccoons that Fox, Krystal and Wolf ended up in. I'll mention some events from the show in the story. Stay tuned.
Now that I've said that, it's time for chapter six.
Chapter 6: Cyril Sneer
The Great Fox was flying through space, albeit not towards any of the planets. Inside, Falco, Peppy and Slippy were in the control room, letting Randorn look at the technology. After a few minutes, the lupine mage picked up a device and began inspecting it.
"Find something interesting?" Falco asked.
"Not really," Randorn answered, "but this looks like something that would help us find the portal that our friends went through."
Slippy took the device from Randorn. The device in question was a green tablet with a black screen. Below the screen were three buttons, with the middle one glowing. Slippy pressed the middle button, which caused the following to be displayed on the screen.
Information on Anomalies
A book on the strange findings of the universe, including ones that cannot be explained.
Want to read?
"I'm surprised that you managed to find this on here, Randorn." Slippy stated. "This book is hard to find."
"Look through it," Randorn said to him, "you might find where the portal will spawn next."
Slippy began to look on the tablet, pressing the buttons and swiping the screen with his fingers. As he looked through the digitally-accessed book, the toad read through, occasionally checking for information on the portal that Fox, Krystal and Wolf traveled through. After a minute, he saw something and pressed a button.
"Hey guys, I found something!" Slippy said.
"Did you find any information on the portal?" Peppy asked.
"Yes," the toad stated, "it spawns in a pattern of planets. However, unlike on Corneria, it's somewhat hidden when it spawns on other planets."
"Well, which planet does it spawn on after Corneria?" Falco asked.
"It either spawns on Sauria or Fichina." The youngest male said.
"Do you know which one will be the next destination of the portal?" Peppy looked at Randorn.
"Yes," Randorn answered, "it will spawn on Sauria next. I can sense the portal, so we will be able to find it on Sauria. However, we'll have to wait a few days for it to show up."
"Let's hope you're right, old boy." Peppy said.
Meanwhile, back in the Evergreen Forest, Wolf was sitting next to a river. The one-eyes lupine looked at the water, contemplating his own reflection. While doing so, he thought about his team. While Leon and Panther were impressive pilots and warriors, he felt like they couldn't keep everyone in line at Sargasso. Unlike Star Fox, Star Wolf was less charitable, despite helping out during the Aparoid invasion and occasionally taking down scum. Chances were, the team would disband without Wolf coming back.
However, Wolf then looked up at the sky.
"Estelle," he spoke, "can you see me now? I am on a planet that isn't in the Lylat System, and I have traveled through time via a portal. I'm here with our daughter and the son of James McCloud. The fool honestly thinks that he deserves Krystal, with the full knowledge that he's in my proximity. Do you think that Fox and Krystal should be together, Estelle?"
"Do you always sit near a river and talk to yourself?" An elderly, rough voice asked.
Wolf turned around and saw a pink aardvark standing next to him. The aardvark in question was shorter than he was, looking four-feet-tall. Wolf then got up from the ground, engaging in a conversation with the shorter, older man.
"I think that you're lost, old man, I was just trying to relax." The one-eyed lupine said.
"Old man?!" The aardvark yelled. "Why, you disrespectful punk, I oughta tan your hide!"
"Hate to break it to you, but I'm the leader of a mercenary group." Wolf stated. "If you tried to fight me, you would get creamed."
"Mercenary group?" The older male asked.
"Yes," the younger male answered, "I'm Wolf O'Donnell, leader of Star Wolf."
"Cyril Sneer, co-owner of Sneer Enterprises." The aardvark held out his hand, allowing Wolf to shake it.
"Nice to meet you, I guess."
After their handshake, Wolf and Cyril sat down on the ground.
"So, what in blue blazes are you doing in the Evergreen Forest?" Cyril asked. "Is there someone you need to kill?"
"Promise you won't freak out if I tell you?" Wolf asked.
"Just tell me!" The aardvark told him.
"Fine," the one-eyed lupine spoke, "I went through a portal with my rival and my daughter. All three of us hail from the Lylat System in the year of 2141, with the portal that brought us to your time spawning on the planet of Corneria."
"So, you're aliens?!" The older, shorter male asked.
"To you, we're aliens." The younger, taller male answered.
For a moment, Cyril looked surprised, then his expression became happy. Wolf knew this look well, as it was not only a happy look, but also a greedy one. The one-eyed lupine tilted his head quizzically, looking the aardvark in the eyes.
"What's that look for?" Wolf asked.
"You must be worth a million bucks, along with your rival and your kid!" Cyril spoke.
"We aren't for sale, you old fool," the one-eyed lupine spat, "we're just waiting for the portal that brought us here to appear in the Evergreen Forest again!"
"A portal, eh?" The aardvark asked.
"Yes," the younger male said, "didn't you hear me? I was talking loud enough, wasn't I?"
"Of course you were!" The older male said. "However, I also heard you saying something about your rival wanting to get with your daughter. What's that about?"
"Well, my rival, Fox McCloud, is in the same team as my daughter, Krystal Bodimead. As we're rivals, I desire to be the one who defeats Fox, but Krystal probably won't let that happen. I never figured that my daughter, the result of a one-night stand I had with the Queen of Cerinia, would be a member of the same team my rival leads. If I knew what had happened before Star Fox did, I would've went to Sauria and found Krystal. Not sure if I would have helped to save that dinosaur-ridden planet, because I'm not into saving the world."
"I feel the same way about my son, Cedric's girlfriend, Sophia. I call Sophia 'Sofa Girl', as I choose that to be her nickname. Like how you don't approve of Fox, I don't approve of Sofa Girl. In fact, last time I checked, her head was more air than anything!"
Wolf and Cyril shared a good natured laugh, their laughter dying down when Cedric came near.
"What's going on, Pop?" He asked.
"Nothing much, Cedric, I'm just speaking with someone." Cyril answered.
"Wolf, what are you doing here?" Cedric asked.
"I was just sitting by the river before your father came near me." Wolf answered.
"I take it that you've encountered the Raccoons as well?" Cyril asked.
"Yes," the one-eyed lupine stated, "I'm even staying at their house with Fox and Krystal until the portal comes back."
"Say, they wouldn't mind if I spoke with them, would they?" The old aardvark asked.
"They won't, but you have to keep our presence a secret." Wolf stated.
"Relax, Wolfie, I won't tell anyone about you and your companions." The eldest of the three spoke. "Even if I could make money out of the three of you, I see that you're just here for protection."
"That's really nice of you, Pop." Cedric stated. "I hope that Bert, Ralph and Melissa are okay with letting you see Fox and Krystal."
"I'm sure that they'll be fine with it." Wolf said. "Now, c'mon, let's head back to the Raccoondominium."
Note: I figured that I would bring Cyril into the story, because what would The Raccoons be without him, let alone a crossover with another franchise? Now that Wolf has spoken with him, the question remains: Will Cyril keep his word on not selling out Fox, Krystal and Wolf? Chances are, Krystal might be the one to test him for honesty. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
